  1. Its down to the high wind...just watched similar on TV just now.
  2. Holy bump! ECU what? But seriously ray never did come back and tell us what was wrong?
  3. looks more like a Chaser to me.
  4. Old School plug check is useless unless you cut the motor at the RPM/load that you want to check, otherwise if it idles you just see the idle fueling. they do retain an impression of the average fueling and that plug looks decidedly grey...so yes its weak IMO.
  5. I would disable boost until you can equip the car to run the bigger turbo properly, I wouldn't trust a narrow band gauge to be accurate during boost even if it does say rich, it could well be running lean during part throttle, you say you take it easy but 16psi is not easy! you have been given plenty of sound advice regarding this, but you seem determined to drive it so its your car and your bill when it goes bang.
  6. Don't start worrying, especially after reading some of this, its probably nothing at all to worry about, for instance most of my life I have had what some people call palpitations which are actually extra beats (from the specialists mouth) and also fast heartbeat, which sometimes would stop me sleeping, I have had tests etc and they found a slight abnormality which they told me not to worry about and it wouldn't effect anything, and I have been relatively healthy. Now due to being bothered by the fast heartbeat again I have now been put on beata blockers to even out and slow my heartbeat, and now its fine, the only thing that seems to make it fast again is too much sugar. So bottom line make an appointment to see your doctor.
  7. IMO the best way is to delete and block the low throttle/load side of the PCV system (the one connected to the plenum by a one way valve, link the two cam cover breathers together, run this to a catch can, preferably baffled (filled with stainless scourers to hep oil drop out, and run the outlet to the turbo intake, this will still use the high load side of the PCV system and aid ring seal etc, and still get rid of most of the oil residue.
  8. First you need the flow map for the turbo if you can find it, but as said its not the boost pressure you need to worry about, the lager turbo will undoubtedly flow much more air than the std setup, and you don't yet know how much, the std ECU timing and fuelling maps will be quite different from what will be needed to run a single, despite the US bods saying you can run a small single on the TT ECU, I would suspect that there will be some rather gaping holes in the mapping. If you don't have a wide band lambda setup fitted I would not run any boost at all, as you have no idea how lean it may run.
  9. Nice cars great long distance cruisers, but a bit heavy on fuel, come with the HR engine similar to the GTR but without turbos.
  10. Looks like the std one by the plug, and someone has moved it from the plenum to the pipe.
  11. The pulley failing is a common problem, however it doesn't have any bearing on the cam drive, just the auxiliary belts, and is not affected by power output, its best replaced with a good std item or decent aftermarket damped harmonic balanced pulley.
  12. Yes at idle there is more cylinder pressure to overcome, as its having to deal with maximum contact load at peak lift, more rpm reduces the peak lift contact loadings , that's also one reason most belts snap on start up or cold idle, especially diesel's.
  13. Is this stilllll going on and on and on.................
  14. There is no extra stress on the cam belt or tensioner from running more BHP, unless your running uprated/stronger valve springs and really lumpy cams, BHP has no bearing on the belt as the most stress the belt comes under is during idle.
  15. I still find continuity issues, for instance Glen hid under the wheelie bin/dumpster, and waited for all the walkers to go away, which they did despite it being a blind ally, so if the walkers get bored and wonder off, why don't the walkers surrounding the compound do the same, and before someone says it because of all the banging, that's not a constant, so why don't they all wander off?
  16. I would put religious advertising in the same category as advertising smoking.............dangerous to your health! Waits for the ban on Christmas next as it might offend other religions!
  17. LOL! at the fatalism! the thinking that we will be he cause and solution to our own end, which is basically that we will overpopulate and war ourselves to exsinction.... has been around for decade's, just hope that I probably wont be around to witness most of it, although with recent events I'm not so sure.
  18. LOL! if I where forty years younger I might consider it, however if they want to train seniors a s snipers I'm in. Edit: LOL! again as thought this was the "Paris" thread, oh well same applied to the foreign or British torrirists...shoot on sight!
  19. Cobblers! we need decisive action, not the pussy footing that the government's perform most of the time,. whatever the reasons for this kind of attack, there is no excuse, these people need to be dealt with with extreme prejudice! And if that puts me in the same frame as Gadaffe the so be it! its because we are so fecking politically correct that we get these murdering scum being able to commit these atrocities, I would happily volunteer to take out these scum!
  20. Good point, it does, but I think if its a 50/50 mix it may take some time to effect the alloy.
  21. Yes as the water/meth is pumped from the tank it needs to be replaced by air, or you get a vacuum and the flow will gradually reduce and screw up the the measured amount injected.
  22. IMO no! trying to isolate a particular engine part to reduce temps is a waste of time, especially if the part in question has a large thermal mass and they sit on top of higher heat sources, if its a part that has a high airflow like a plenum or pipe connected to a plenum your better off relying on the boundary layer effect to help keep things cool.
  23. Just used one of the boost/vacuum feed on the plenum.
  24. That's what I said ...sallow or Goat willow, doesn't grow very big but the do self seed...a lot!
