  1. Read the entire first post. Did see other post of your car getting done. The ordeal you experienced was very bad mate. Hoping you're successful in the end of all of this. This is a major reason why I won't sent my supra to people in my country to work on. I am afraid of this happening. Guess time will tell what I decide.
  2. Thought and felt the same. Good to be reassured by knowledgeable forum members. Mine is in need of a good clean from fuel that has turned to gel having stood for 3 years or so now.
  3. Some nice work done there mate. that exhaust looks the business man. That v160 of yours looks similar to a setup I saw not so long ago somewhere over seas. Wonder if you shop from where I do? What you pay for the entire setup if I may ask?
  4. like Mika mentioned that and the section where you can angle the spoiler at has steel plates with holes in them for better securing I guess.
  5. That is a ton of useful info. Useta have a 50L until they stole it over me fence one day. Wife bought me an industrial one for my birthday or anniversary, not sure now but its a 200L one that delivers 8.83 cfm and has a big enough motor. I cant recall the HP output now but it seems good I think. Also belt driven. I for one don't have a closed environment. So cant control temperature but rely upon mother nature for good weather. I have a good spray gun but a colleague told me it would be good for paint but not clear coat so will see to that. I need to get sanding machines still but yeah, removing a run is a pain indeed without a machine. I did my brother's the other week, only bumpers and the rear was good. Front, I don't know what happened after the 2nd layer of base coat. It made a hazy view on the paint whilst the rear had a mirror finish. I was using a dust mask which is not the way to go at all but it was way better than using nothing. Thanks again mate
  6. Nice. Thanks for teaching us one mate. Glad you were successful
  7. Hey Ric. Seems like Lee at SRD don't have what I am looking for mate. I need the Orange and Grey foot well plugs as well as the two Fuse box pugs for the GTE engine harness. If DIY Auto don't come through, I will see if the factory/shop in Hong Kong cant send me what I need individually.
  8. Nice work on that spray job there. box looks new and should give you many happy miles I hope. They say the V160 as it is in that photo weighs 55kg mate. In comparison to the W58, what you think the W58 weighs? I have carried an auto with fluid in in and a W58 and the auto A340e is much heavier than the W58.
  9. Another supra lol. Really nice job on how that shop redone the car for you. How did you achieve the 400hp power? Is there any mods or is it just the BPU?
  10. Lovely work indeed. Any pointers on mixing paints and clear coat as well as any tips on spray painting with the gun?
  11. Don't know why they slipped my mind. Should have checked with them as I need 4 in total but they are main connectors and not sensor connectors. Thanks Ric
  12. The Japanese are getting clever not that they aren't but 6spd n/a cars are now going for roughly $30k to $40k from the two I have last seen. One is still available. There are a few RZ models going for higher and one cleaner model RZ auto for less than all the above but close to $30k. Seriously speaking, I would test the 6spd trans to the max and check for all the usual wear it may show, then try and get him to settle on 9k. Them V160 trans are half the price of the car already. Not all JDM cars have no rust as they do experience snow in Japan. Some are bad and some are clean whilst others are rotten mate. If you want it as you have plans later on in life with it, then don't shy away. But if you feel its too much then just wait a bit for something else. But from what I have seen on here and facebook, clean TT models auto or 6spd are increasing in prices.
  13. Hello members I was forced to buy from someone online a few connectors missing from my engine harness. So I have found and decided to use them. I have purchased plugs for my GTE Aristo harness so it works with my Suppie and have received mails regarding payment success and an order number but no shipping details. Has anyone had experience with them in the past? Are they reliable? How long did it take before you got your items and how long do they take to provide you with a shipping number? Worried as Toyota no longer stock the part numbers for the plugs I am in need of for my engine harness.
  14. Will you do international post on this item Mark?
  15. I could see that without a doubt mate. Thumbs up to you on making the car better in many ways possible.
  16. Delboy do you also have FRP over flare front fenders like me? I too was wondering for long how people done it or how the oem one looks as my TRD ones have been cut off. I am going to hopefully get a friend locally who is respraying his car to use his fenders to copy those pieces for myself using fibre glass. I cannot mount my head lights to my car except with one bolt. On a side note, nice work Gary. See you doing this all yourself? The roof looks top notch mate. Hopefully one day I can do this in my own spare time as well as my car too needs body work and prep
  17. Yoh from what it was and what you wanted in the beginning to now. Brilliant. Like the way you came along over the years with it and ended up with this now. Well done to you man. Be sad for you to sell it but do make sure you get good money for it if you intend selling it.
  18. If you cant get a GTE block I would get the GE block. I haven't opened up my oil coked engine but hoping my crank and bores look okay to use. If not I will be buying a GE block as they are selling them at importers here by me for a 1/3 of the price of a GTE VVTi engine. I have seen a few GE motors turbo charged pushing out 800kw and over 1000nm torque. This is obviously with additional work. Many have spoken of whether an engine needs oil piston cooling nozzles or not. They are there only to cool down piston crown temperatures as they spray oil under the piston. The name speaks for itself. I don't know bout the GTE piston but it may have a galley drilled in it were the oil can circulate as it sprays in but I could be wrong. None the less if you push the motor to its max, that piston cooling nozzle will not cool the piston crown adequately enough any longer as combustion temperatures would increase hence people remove them. Aftermarket pistons for GTE engines in most cases do have the cut away for the nozzle.
  19. Red loctite mate. Most cases you will round the bolt before that gives way. My engine company uses it on big industrial engines on the threads of the piston cooling nozzle bolts
  20. Hello there mate TOY-4-104 - Hel Performance Braided Brake Hose Kit. 1x set available - £70 (normally £102.24 RRP) what will this cost to ship to South Africa and are these all 4 hoses for each calliper? Do these differ between JDM and USDM brakes?
  21. Bumping this guide as Miko is a man who has helped me clear up some confusion for sure. Thanks to Homer and whoever else who aided in getting those photos back up
  22. Okay so I found another thread of Miko who fitted a GTE engine into an n/a car but his engine was out of a supra so he didnt have much issues with the wiring except the same connector I have in question which is used for traction control, abs and the starter and something else. I believe my harness from the Aristo or Soarer does not have this plug. I will be retaining the abs so am I correct in saying I will need it and the starter for cranking the engine also soooo? Yes of course. I will be using my oem RZ auto box for now and have a W58 lying a side for later. Should I connect the throttle control ECU up as I saw for auto you need it but not manual. Note the GTE harness I have does not have this connector and Toyota don't have it either so its either I buy the connector off the net or just forget it which I am leaning towards as I want to try and push the car to achieve atleast 250 to 350hp on the std twins with BPU done. I have seen that the connector from the power steering rack needs to connect somewhere else as well. Does it connect to the engine harness or the wiring engine bay loom guys?
  23. Has anyone got all these photos or updated it? I don't see any in the 1st post
