That is not the only issue mate. Over time if you don't clean the drillings, they tend to clog up with brake pad material. This then causes heat spots on the disc leading to fatigue in that region and small cracks start to appear over time. I clean my AMG disc everytime I wash the car or service it which is less than washing it but yeah. In the case of your scenario above, I would rather stick with the stock disc then and avoid headache
-
If you use a softer pad yes. The point of the holes or grooves is to help alleviate heat build up in the disc. I would recommend using a harder compound race pad for this. Hopefully experienced users will chime in. My AMG model car has drilled disc with 6 piston brembos and doesn't create much of the dust but the wheels over time do turn grey from their normal silver colour. By over time I don't meant in one week. But then again how spirited is your driving mate?

Indeed this is beautiful. Really a master piece of a car. Congrats on coming up with this and making it real.

Thanks. Will need to get me self one of them thermostatic oil cooler adapters as I would need to run my Defi oil guage and sensor off it as well as an external oil cooler for the engine

DO NOT SELL your old motor sump. As Aristo engines use front sump setup. Few guys on our local group made the same mistake and some were saved. GTE exhaust and inlet design are not same so you unfortunately cannot mix the parts. You can try to get the manifold on the GTE twins modified and weld a different plate that will adapt to the GE head design. It should run better than a stock GTE I feel if it is tuned correctly and has bigger injectors as the compression ratio is higher. I would recommend you change the head gasket for a GTE one when doing this. Best would be to go turbo route on n/a motor build. With the GTE manifold on a GE motor, it may cost you alot in getting it to work then having gone turbo route build from the on set but I don't know better. Rather go for a drive in a GTE powered car and see. Maybe its slow for you. Then it would be better for you to just turbo your current engine. Maybe you like the std GTE power and can live with it till funds are available and you blue in the face and decide to go single turbo route later on.

Thank you kind Sir. Thrust plates at Mr T brand new are roughly $90. Insane
-
Thank you Sir David. I have a thrust plate from a lexus motor I believe as its an auto box from there as well. Sadly the flex plate on that box does not line up with my GTE TC and so the thrust plate has the same issue. Hence I need to buy all those pieces again but I do have the correct GTE flex plate now. Thanks for the dimensions. Chris, I will have a look and see. Maybe it will be better to just ask around local before I take the plunge as what I see, most people just sell their auto boxes off the Aristo GTEs but for $200 plus. Thanks for your advice as well
-
bumping this as I am lost and cant find mine. So does Toyota still stock these? Heard last that they don't but that wasn't from the agents itself. I also need to order the two thrust plates that mount between the TC, crank and flex plate
-
I would rather change the sensor mate. I am sure the other wires are there for a reason. It should be ground, supply, pressure signal and something else? Guaranteed the sensor must have a way of telling the ECU to maintain higher rpm when its engaged but then again I am unsure.

wanted Passenger side/LH side face lift head lamp for JDM
SupraTRD_MK4 posted a topic in Parts Wanted
Good day fellow supra owners Anyone have a spare head lamp for me. Must be face lift for the passenger side or LH side of the vehicle for a JDM model please. Lense must not be scratched or minute scratches will be okay. Must have no broken tabs as well please. -
japan-parts.eu is by far the best I feel. Better than ToyoDIY but yeah, each to his own. If you send me the vin part of your car on pm, I can look up the car on that site then forward you the link. That way you will know you ordering everything correctly for your car

Thanks Jelly Bean. Sorry to hear the disappointment Rashed. Hope you find the issue and hopefully it isn't a turbo shot. -
wanted Orange foot well plug from engine side to body
SupraTRD_MK4 replied to SupraTRD_MK4's topic in Parts Wanted
Finally found this thanks to my mate Anthony in South Africa who helped me with another engine harness which was half cut up from a manual mk4 supra. Thanks to everyone for their advice. -
Don't know what clutch you have in there mate but my friend's supra was making a weird clattering sound as well. He decided to open it up as he thought the clutch was going as well and found it coming apart. If you get her on ramps or all 4 wheels on jack stands, you can check it out for yourself through the inspection holes on the v160 box and see from there whilst it is in gear and moving with the rear up on stands

extreme dimensions. Just search them on google mate. They have a video of their parts as it arrives and how one can fit them more or less as they mention little to no trimming is required to fit their fibre glass parts.

States only. Local in UK maybe whiftbitz have but there is a good shop in UK making them. Mine are from there but I still need a bonnet

Don't hold me to it, but that steering wheel can sell for as little as $50 to $250 depending on condition. Thats what it list on Jap auctions for. The AMP, not many are after unless you can prove its working. I have seen them sell for $80 or more at times. The CD player, thats if its the DIN itself or the one under the seat like some old cars had. I have never seen it for sale unless its the stereo itself then it could sell for $300 approximately which some thought is insane but there are OEM nostalgic fans. Turbo pipes I dono. Someone will offer $10 if you lucky. Some sell for high price. The spark plug cover for 2jzgte sells for either $80 to $150 depends on colour and how bad it has faded and whether or not the silver writing or emblem is visible enough. 1/4 windows sell for $150 more or less. I paid $170 for mine. Some say brand new can be had for that price but I was quoted $280 for one at agents. Hope this helps you a bit

mate, how does that thermostatic oil adapter work? I thought it would have an actual thermostat like a cooling system.
-
Can you post a photo of the screw pls? Someone?
-
Thanks for reviving this you good soul. I need to do this on my head lights I bought. Sadly my chrome on the face lifts are gone. So I am considering getting them chrome dipped then covering where need be to spray gloss black as I have read the rings on these lights cannot come off unless you cut them off and glue them back on.

Sorry mate. Assortment 3 also has an air cross over vent that mounts under the dash knee panel. There is also an extra auto dash surround in grey and a GTE/GE cam belt timing cover. There is another part but I cannot see what it is. -
Who owns the highest insured supra in the Uk?
SupraTRD_MK4 replied to Supra-love's topic in Supra Chat
Are these prices on original 6spd TT cars or is it for a supra in general. I want to know what I could insure mine for as an RZ auto model. -
