UK spec low mileage MK IV toyota supra all oem car unmolested
SupraTRD_MK4 replied to SupraTRD_MK4's topic in Supra Chat
Oh ok I didn't know that part of the diff cooler DNK. Thanks for that. Yeah you right but my guess is it is a 93 model. There was a magazine here in our country that conducted the test aka CAR magazine and I am of the belief that Toyota SA brought in a few which were new early model cars so 1993 model. Bobbeh, as far as I know its 17 digit long but dont have the exact number. Are you asking as you want to gauge how early model it is or...? As for the miles to km/h, I think its reading in kilometres as our country uses that. I could be wrong. When I get the interior photos, I will upload them. I agree on your last statement. Thanks for the kind words and questions mate. -

Even has the diff oil pump to aid with cooling or whatever it does. Thanks Frank and yes it is oem v160 model car. It also does still have the oem from factory glass head lamps with adjusters. I am awaiting interior photos and few others. Don't know yet but the interior might be the tan colour as the other guy I know has that in his UK model car. Thanks DNK. You think you have an estimate value there? -
Well said. Oh ok I see with regards to that intake system. In that case, take care of your health. Unless you intend selling it 2 years from now, please lemme know or I will ask you for the dimensions on it hopefully end of year or when my car is near running or complete condition. Once again keep it up. P.S I like how you start the video of with your friends in it doing something or saying something. It just adds the spice to it in my books. Regards

Why those two auto boxes mate? What do you know that I don't? lol but hey it would be better to go Lexus as the parts are in most cases similar to each other between Toyota and Lexus. BMW will just be all different and more money spent to get it working right. Unless its beefier then I get your point. Have you had a look at the auto box forum within this forum. There is alot to learn there and it would be much better using the stock A340E JZA80 trans with solenoids shimmed and different speedo gear for higher power. They are reliable if done properly as I have seen a couple in America run low 9's using the A340E trans with some internal work

Hello there So a friend of mine asked me what me thinks his car be worth as he is keen on selling her for personal reasons. The car is still fresh and yes it is a UK car imported to our country back in the day through Toyota SA itself. I have heard that maybe 10 or more give or take were brought to South Africa but alas, the market was not feasible for us back then or for some absurd reason we did not get them. The car has roughly 50 000km and still has all oem UK parts on it. I am awaiting other photos of the car but he has informed me that he still has the oem wheels for her and whatever else he may have changed. So what would you guys think this car would be worth in the UK market, USA market and UAE market? Critics and comments all entertained. He is ready to export her with all documents in order should the right offer be made unless someone local has their heart and money to spend on such a gem of a car.

ebay or fb that box. Ask for around $3800 or so and you will still get your money. But if its in good condition like you say, price it at $4500 or more. GWS on a side note, what be the weight of that box without the oil and clutch kit?

Sorry mate but I am not a fan of 1jz in a JZA80 car BUT on a HUGE side note, hell yeah, great vids man and commentary. This car suits everything you done to it. Thumbs up. Great to see another DIY guy doing vids on this. Must say the exhaust note and engine note with the upgrades in stages was awesome. I love the way the car pulls on the freeway even though speed was not showing but it looks fast for std engine with complementing mods. Keep it up. Love the color of the car as well. If you can, please inform me as to where you got the intake setup. I heard you said you bought it off some guy but thought maybe a shop or something. Regards Khan

Eish being in control I guess and more expense of having to make it manual. Cheapest I seen an auto box go for in my country is roughly 3k which equates to approximately 170 odd pounds. Any luck posting it up on FB mate? -

nobody wants it even for that price? -
I have done this but not on a JZ model car however I am of the belief that all cv joints are the same. Just inner ones on fwd cars differ with a tripod inside the cup. You can remove the clamp, remove the boot or in this case push it back off unless you want to remove the outer cv joint then you can tap that off with a brass hammer or rubber mallet like I do around the edge after removing that boot as well since it is a small circlip that holds it in place on the shaft. You can use thinners or some other detergent and flush the old grease out and then use compressed air to blow it out dry from the joint. You can then repack the cv with grease but ensure you regrease it properly. If you have experience with greasing wheel bearings it is more or less the same principle. Mind you there is a method of removing the ball bearings within and then removing the cage and cleaning it and probably replacing the ball bearings with new ones of same size but that is a hard job according to me. You get different clamps for the boots. DO NOT use tie straps. You can get special pliers for the clamps as they are sold at tool shops for the cv joint boot clamp. Others require the use of a hammer and plier to tie them up correctly and most importantly do use gloves.

How many are left Mark? -
Yes I believe they are in the way. I gave my screws holding the coils a tap with a parallel punch and hammer and tapped the screw driver in with firm pressure it turned. I had to do this to 4 screws as they were getting damaged and would not come loose.

What the........Scooter Science class right here. Nice to know though.

In the 1st diagram using another website which I believe is more updated depicts that part you have selected as p/n 25860-46060 Can you probably post a pic of where exactly it came off? According to your title post it is the IACV next to the exhaust side cam cover. So it is that part number I have given you. I dont believe they are the same as a part from the system they work with differs, the connector from the harness is also different.

Chas can have it if still available mate.

Have an RZ 1993 model. I viewed the pdf and have found one error on it. My JDM car has active spoiler control. I see it list a 93 RZ model as a car without this feature. I am of the belief that this would have been an exclusive feature on a supra mk IV and hence they were equipped with it on earlier models. I could be wrong. My car is a 1993 TT auto car

nice to know blythmrk. Was there any special reason toyota made them gold? I know their AE86 models has a gold edition car but don't know why would they have chosen this? Is it a specialty from the rest?

I am currently getting my car back up and running to its former glory. MIssing alot of parts sadly and motor and well alot other stuff. So from the day I purchased it, the receipt of that transaction and every part paid for via ebay and fb on paypal and courier fees from around the world. Every page I am keeping in a file so I can see if I shot myself in the foot at the end of the day or not. Take note, finding a supra in my country is somewhat rare. People are selling cars that cannot be registered or have no papers either n/a auto or n/a manual cars for like $15 000 or more. I have always kept info in sleeves or in a file for future reference to parts or as proof to show of history in terms of maintenance. Some people if buying a car feel relieved to know the car they buying was well taken care of.

yoh:blink: took long mate

I would buy this if you willing to ship it? What is the weight on it?

I would check for corrosion on the battery terminals. Then probably best to test your battery or take it in for a test. If it is the serviceable type, maybe its low on electrolyte. You can conduct a battery test to determine whether its gone or not but thats only if it is the serviceable type battery.
