  1. Yoh Ben. That looks off the rocks man. COngrats. Did you know, that apparently the original Supra used in the movie was actually a n/a auto version and not a TT manual that we all wish or though it were. I see you going for the manual box conversion?

    So much hate

Must say I agree with everyone here. In my country people do the same as well especially to Skyline owners. And if it aint a GT-R they walk away. I admire you for owning this car and not any other krap Jap cars as of late. Heck even opting for one of these and going through headache to own one is worthy of note man.
  3. Here you go Style. This was a few I took in the beginning. Thank you http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=222343&stc=1&d=1505304422 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=222344&stc=1&d=1505304496 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=222345&stc=1&d=1505304518
  4. Man digging your collection. I would have bought that white Supra from the last movie Paul Walker was in. That one you got there looks the part.
  5. Thanks Shawn. Appreciate the hospitality. I hope I can learn a lot here as I have in the past with my other vehicles.
  6. I had done this on a Toyota engine of mine before. Might want to inspect the cambelt and tensioner while you at this. I read on the mkIV manual to press/tap the cam seals in all the way using a dolley or SST of Toyota. As mentioned above change those flat washer seals that are under the cam cover bolts. No need to remove the front caps unless you want to remove the old seal easier but then dont forget to apply the seal packing under the cam caps liberally when replacing them. Back on to how I do them, I apply red Loctite sealant, its the one in the white bathroom silicone looking applications but a smaller size. I apply this to the edge of the cam seal and then use the correct size socket for the outer rim of the seal. Place the seal in by hand to help it at first with alignment and then gently tap it in. I did the same on my oil pump when I replaced that as well. Difference is here, once the seal is in 3/4 way, use a small size 10, 3/8" drive tube socket rear, and gently press on the edge of the seal flush as you maneuver the socket around the diameter till it sits flush with your oil pump. You could use something else, as long as it is flat and strong. Out of curiousity, do you have a tool to break the crank pulley bolt loose? I use a cheater/breaker/power bar to undo that using the starter method while in neutral but the ignition chords must be removed as well as the injector plugs and give it a tap of the key or two till it comes loose
  7. Aloha to one and all here. Hope I can experience a warm welcome to this forum. For many reasons in fact and among the most important ones being, I sadly don't own a Supra. I did however look at one and hence the username. And I aint from UK. South African here. I am however an ardent Toyota fan and have owned 2 AE82 models in my life. One being a sedan and the other a hatch back. I currently own a AE92 hatch and my brother owns the same however mine being the twincam and his the economy model until recent this year. My parents only ever trusted the brand and so it has been around since the days I drove around in a car. On a side note, I own a W209 55 which at the time was one of my dream cars. Must say going at 257km/h in a V8 is quite something but getting there quicker in a boosted 2jzgte Supra would be a whole lot fun. Just something to ponder over in case you thinking why get a Merc when I could have got me a Supra. I didn't get the import from Japan as I was afraid of putting that kind of money aside only to get confiscated and crushed if something went wrong during the process of acquiring one or being robbed by someone during payment. But alas, the need to own one flows ever more through my veins and one day hopefully, thats if the wife doesn't throw me out, I shall own a MKIV Supra Toyota. I would prefer the Targa Top as they are unique but for now, either auto and n/a will do or turbo and manual hard top versions when and if I can. Sucks that our country rules have changed alot with regards to imports especially from Japan but none the less, I suppose if done correctly one can obtain the car after paying the government and all the duties and nonsense that goes with it just to become a legal import.
