When you vote without researching something properly you get what you pay for. Pushing for a new vote every few months because you got the wrong answer isn't democracy. Let's nail this lie, the Tories published their 2015 election manifesto in March 2015, in which they claimed they would hold a referendum on EU membership. The independence referendum in Scotland d was in September 2014. At that point in time, the Tories were in a coalition with the Liberals, who were not in favour of an EU referendum. Additionally, believe it or not, Labour were 4% ahead in opinion polls and were seen as the likely next government. Labour opposed an EU referendum. The Scots were told in no uncertain terms that if we wanted to stay in the EU, we had to vote No to independence, as if we voted for independence, we would be leaving the EU. And there I was being the idiot telling other people to do better research, whoops... Turns out he had promised a referendum in early 2013 should the tories get a majority, but nothing officially confirmed at that point so I can see why it could be ignored in voting. Veterans would be turning in their graves if they could hear all the total anti democratic nazi comments coming from those who voted remain. Reminds me of when hitler said all the Jews were bad. Kind of like saying everyone who voted leave is xenophobic, racist and should be ashamed.... And then being violent towards them! I've seen this too much over the last day. Even a petition for a second referendum because they didn't get their own way not to mention the protests which were violent. It's always the leftie ones shouting fascism and racism and the right wing are violent etc when it's them that cause the violence! I would not say I'm right wing, more in the middle but even I can see an anti democratic organisation when I see it, not to mention our own government but at least now we're leaving the fourth reich we can focus on sorting our own political system out. Tragically, right wing UKIP and the Greens are the only parties whose representatives actually reflect the views of their constituents.
