i cannot sit back and let you tell things that are simply untrue matt, i have used your services many times, and always walked away happy, but i simply cannot sit here and let you go on about the blocking off said pipes with "walking stick ends" get it right man they were broomstick ends:rolleyes::p

When Matt & Tom told me this in person when my car was there, I thought they were having a laugh......didn't realize that it is actually true.....

amazing.....

Don't you remember the ToyotaTom thread with the piccies ? It was a walking stick bung then .. not a broom handle!

Perhaps they upgraded from walking sticks to broom handles! :D

Got a group buy rate on them down at poundstretchers/matalan maybe ? In all seriousness, methinks that the:

Max GT

Mkiv-store

and now TurboFit

problems highlight that members shouldn't accept a trader that comes along just based on afew words. Personally, I would do away with the members making the decisions of accepting/declining traderships and leave it up to the mods. For sure, members can submit feedback via a survey on they're experiences and the mods use that as guidance.

3 times now the members have voted in bad traders ... and 3 times members have been burned.

Best bit of advice, get rid of the Supra and get a car that doesn't need servicing by a 'trusted' or 'expert' individual because they're all to hard to come by.

That's what I've done from a combination of the above and having to rectify endless problems.

Or do the work yourself :)

This is a bit of a funny thread, to post a reply to, yes every garage has a few cock-ups. We are only human, But it's how quickly and smoothly you can rectify them, that distinguish the men from the boys.

With out adding insult to injury. From reading the various disputes threads, its clear that TF are avoiding communication of any sort, which is PIKEY behavior and armaturish through my eyes. I would suggest that Sam and Greg if they gave a toss about their reputation make a statement, and rather than sit in the corner and hide like a 5 year old child, come out and hold your hands up!! Say yes we F**ked up and we are sorry!!

This is a massive disappointment, after the TF BBQ, which I approached with an open mind, and left rather impressed, with firstly the turn out and the level of support.

I think TF should do the honorable thing and compensate these members who have come to you in good faith. Even if you can't compensate them fully, due to cash flow situation and the fact that your going under. Just a little bit of compensation would be justifiable.

Last word, you cant ignore when the writing is on the wall, my only questions is how can one company have soooooooooooooooooooooooo many F**k up!!!!

They should change their name from Turbo Fit to Turbo F*ck!!!

Guys as am sure you all know i have always been a great supporter of turbofit and Sam and Greg are also good freinds of mine.

I have found it hard to comment directly on some of the issues i.e when pig spoke to me at JAE i did try to run through few of the issues with him, the reason i find it hard to comment is down the fact that the work accomplished on both my supras has always been perfect and truly cannot fault it.

A example of how they have treated me i suspected on the way to JAE i may have a oil leak i phoned greg in on the way and when i arrived he had moved cars out the workshop and moved me stright in and completly check the car over hell i didnt even have to switch the engine of no oil leak was found but greg did spot one of the fuel feeds was leaking he and ian removed the line and found some how the line had split!! i new line was made up there and then and replaced at no charge this is just one example of many of the guys there bending over backward to help me

All there is left to say is i wish them all the best for the future i know they both sunk everything int the buisness and feel bad for that am also sure any out standing issues they will sort

I kind of agree, i am inclined to say that in the first place the Supra is no more complicated than most modern engines, and being so most competent garages should have no problem whatsoever servicing/fixing them!

The problem arises when someone with the mechanical understanding and ability of my cat!decides that he wants a big spec fast modded jap car, now i am not knocking these people at all, but it then leaves them no choice but to use only "tuners/specialist's" for any work, so they are then at the mercy of the supposed competence and skill of these people, and the varied opinions of everybody else in the modified/performance scene!

So IMO if you want to own a high spec/performance modified car, then either be prepared to pay for the best tuners, or don't bother unless you can do it all yourself.

Edit: Why do people who have had no dealings with TF have to jump on the bandwagon and just take the piss!

remember there are two sides to every story! or are you all aggrieved customers:rolleyes:

I agree, problem is I, like others, have heard bad stories about pretty much every 'professional tuner'. Which is why I, and many others, end up doing it ourselves. I've learnt LOADS since owning a Supra :D

Didn't stop people with the mkivstore debacle.

I remember some people being more vocal during that situation though eh Martin :taped:

Although I had no dealings with Turbofit myself, I feel for the people affected, and I have to say they had a fan base up here in the NorthWest a number of locals have made the 400 mile journey on the back of their apparent popularity.

I wonder how they feel now!

FWIW I was hearing bad things about TF last autumn and if I'm hearing stuff then you know it's bad as, usually, I'm the last to know anything.

Why do you wonder that? What has the collapse of mkivstore got to do with the turbofit collapse? Please explain.

Are you suggesting that somebody who had bad dealings with mkivstore and said so should therefore also comment on the TF mess? I don't see the logic there.

Martin was a lying cheating wanker and those of us that said so were eventually proved correct, much to the annoyance of the people that had been taken in by him and were kissing his arse for months.

I've said nothing against TurboFit because I've never dealt with them - I made that decision long ago.

I posted earlier about no1br,as every one knows he had most if not all his work done there.i have not posted since as i have never had work carried out by t/f.i have read most of the posts and to me it seems t/f had there fav'sall these people say the same thing,t/f could not do enough to help me out.

one of the last i read was wayne(supra dibbs)saw your car at t/f looked amazing.you and your car seem to have been there like fixture and fittings there. Please i'm not having a pop at you wayne or any one.but it seems these people may have been used as free/easy publicity.some people were luckier than others.gaz1 your car is totaly amazing now you have got it to how imho it should be.umm im lovin it.

i'm just so glad i never under took t/f to carry out work on my supe.

Well, if I'm every back in a Supra I'll be calling on the advice of some truly brilliant members on here and give things a shot myself I think. Ric and Bob have helped me out on occassions when I didn't have a clue what's wrong and I really, really appreciate their help. Trick TT (Rich) has been BRILLIANT. It's the members who do the work themselves that we should try to gain access to for us noobies.

Perhaps a separate thread is needed. How undertakes nearly EVERY aspect of worksmanship on the Supra themselves? At least then if in trouble novice members like myself have someone else to call on (if the experts are happy to do so) before making an expensive trip to a garage/trader............if needed. :)

Dropped my car off at TF on sat morning. had a long chat with the chaps and feel really sorry for Sam, Gregg and the team.

The good news is they are all still in work, them will be working over the road under JP thingy majig.

Gregg told me that it was the business side of things that sent TF down the pan. not putting a percent on top of parts. charging low hourley rates for labour and doing stuff for free or for little to no charge.

I dont know really, im new to TF but i feel really sorry for there loss. Sam has apparantly lost well over 300k from the enterprise. enough to send anyone over the edge.

I cant fault my work that i have had done so far. it seems perfect but its early days. its being mapped now then its job done. i cant really forsee any problems. ive done over 1000 miles now and its running well.

Anyways. Hope things work out for Gregg and Sam, either way, regardless of what people think of TF as a company they are both quality people.

I was on about those that didn't have dealings with mkivstore but felt obliged, no, compelled to chip in.

Without going searching for proof (I'll leave that to the forum stasi) some of those people appear to now be having or have had trouble with TF.

They don't seem so vocal now that it's them that are caught up in it.
