  1. I drove my J-specs in europe for 2 years and found them to be OK in everything but overtaking on single carriageways. I found I got stuck behind tractors alot as I lived in a farming area but it generally worked out OK because the Dutch are impatient and the first car to come up behind me would overtake so I could pull out and follow them and mostly then blast past them when they pulled in front of the tractor
  2. I'm really up for this but I will have to toe it up from the ferry as the aristo can't go on the euro-train being LPG. I could always stop over in calais the night before I guess.
  3. Thats exactly what I thought he was doing but matey on the left had enough room to toe it around behind the potential tacklers most of the way to the middle especially had the failed tryster pulled in the tackle as he passed the ball off.
  4. What I don't understand is that they went to the camera footage and still allowed that try even though it was blatantly obvious that they had bent the rules with that cheeky quick line-out! Ireland then went and lost themselves the match with 2 seconds to go by not using the extra man they had on the left that they'd spent so much effort developing
  5. When I had swamps do-luck I tracked it and apart from a tiny bit more nose barging it handled the same as a supra. It'll take the same suspension upgrades as a supra and the geo setup isn't far off the same.

  7. 2000 TOYOTA ARISTO SILVER (LEXUS GS300) £2,500.00 (0 Bids) End Date: Monday Feb-28-2011 19:35:05 GMT http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2000-TOYOTA-ARISTO-SILVER-LEXUS-GS300-/220745228983?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item336570e2b7&ssPageName=RSS:B:SHOP:GB:101 imagine what that would cost if it was a supra.
  8. Ah I see I was wondering where you were getting the gear from at that price.
  9. Do what? You think you can buy a TT engine, a 6 speed getrag box, and a TT LSD for £1k and then install of that for £2.5k? Guess I'll have my aristo swapped out for a manual tomorrow then fella considering the cheapest getrag box about is £2.5k at the mo.
  10. Its not just down to the instant HP increases though is it? The damaging effects of heat in an engine bay where things have been turned up beyond maximum will make themselves known when wiring insulation cracks and shrinks, plastic parts crack, pipework perishes, and other parts get heat damaged. Long term heat damage can have massive consequences. If the said companies kit works then its money worth spending if you are going to keep the car.
  11. Ah fair enough wrong end of stick indeed. I assumed from your first post you were running around in a daily NA and that a TT anything considered would be more than likely quite old, not sure how I leapt to them conclusions S4 is a very nice car, ex bro in law has one. Is it the 320BHP RWD one you have?
  12. Don't like aristos that's fair enough horses and courses and all. Odd contradiction that you've put an ad up for a cheap TT supe that will obviously be a 93-94 plate but wouldn't consider anything below 2000 as a daily.
  13. For the money you are talking about here (450 money) then you could easily get a 2000+ aristo and look at single turbo's and maybe have some cash for suspension MODs that are all the same as supra stuff. You want a big car you can throw around I chased elise's into corners and out faster at Castle donington in the do_luck. I utterly trashed a Porsche GT3 down the straight in it so much so he couldn't sling shot me in the bends. Put it into perspective if you want the sort of power your supra has, with the handling characteristics your supra has, but you want 4 doors a boot and 5 useable seats then buy a sodding aristo. PS you want to stick LPG on it that makes it cheaper to run and still have a boot you can fit 2 bodies in then buy a sodding aristo. I can't put it any stronger FFS. Everyone raves on about supra's around here and then wonders why the uneducated don't get it? Now see my world. The aristo has exactly the same running gear, same engine, same suspension setup, and is within 150kg weightwise on the supra. best part is vvti and in fact any upgrade came out first on the aristo.
  14. PFF its at the top of the engine so how much coolant will you lose? A quick replacement will see off not alot of coolant and return the car to a running right condition. Thats if its the idle control valve.
  15. AFAIK the 3 litre is the more powerful of the gen 3 GS range. Just remember the MK2 aristo has the VVTi lump in it which can take all the single turbo goodies that supra's can. Its significantly more modern inside than the MK1 and dare I say the supra. I reckon if you had a drive in PJ's white one you could be won over as that one has been set up for time attack by Dave at Prolex.
  16. Its on the side of the throttle body. From memory its only a couple of 10 mm bolts holds it on.
  17. I'm gonna guess he posted that from his newly acquired phone lol. Sort of says it all if you cant post properly with full text.
  18. I've heard some very negative stuff about the insiginia from people that have both bought them and long term hired them. Mondeo I've heard nothing.
  19. So first round done then. Initial response. England have some work to do, Ireland didn't inspire as much as I'd hope they would, and Scotland surprised me in their strength against the French. Its all very much in the air now. France is always going to be the bench mark as much as England think they are which is often their undoing because everyone wants to beat them so badly. Ireland will have to man up if they want to stand a chance. Wales will definitely improve across the tournament so they are proper in with a shout. Personally I think that Ireland are my faves if they pull good form. The jocks still don't look like they can field a tournament winning side. FWIW I think the italian side is the most impressive for outright improvement.
  20. Be an air idle control valve fault. Mine was sticky on and off for a while.
  21. My old supra was easily as quick down 1/4 mile as my do-luck T67 ever was. Its initial pickup and its overall grunt just pipped the T67. However that's not the whole story. Once rolling on WOT the T67 devastated the performance of my BPU supe. In traffic the response of the TT made it so much more useable power wise, again not the whole story because after the second or so difference it took to spool the bad boy it was like unleashing hell. It really is two different kettles of two different fish. For a 1/4 a BPU supe will handle all of the traction there is to have. That is why dude cracked into the 10's before his holiday with a car that was significantly lower powered than its competitors. An understanding of how to apply the available power to the floor is tantamount to a good 1/4 time.
  22. Jamie have you never considered a TT aristo mate? They are stupidly cheap. 4 doors a boot and TT performance. Even the VVTi 97 onwards will set you back less than £4k
  23. Mate thats inspiring me! I hurt still from the run on Wednesday but we did a 5 mile walk to try and stretch it off a bit today. Tomorrow I'm getting my run buddy out and at least matching my sh*te Wednesday time for 3 miles. This time around other than getting a Nigerian runners physique I'm going to try and put some muscle on my frame as well. Looks like I'll have to get myself into the gym as well as just running.
  24. I can sit on a bench with 100kg's on it
