Nice job!

Love your car.

thanks Chris :)

Not sure what the vacuum pipe is for, but I have exactly the same on mine.

It's not connected either exactly as per your picture.

Ditto.

Okay cool, strange nobody seems to know what it is if it's as common as it sounds but good to know it's nothing serious :)

Hey guys, i spent hours Yesterday detailing my car and it's turned out really nice, just haven't had time to get any pics with this shit weather Today.

Just a couple quick questions really:

1. What product do you use to restore the black rubbery/plastic trims around the windows on the outside? Not just shine like a back to black but restore/clean them up.

2. Have any of you restored the black trims around the front and rear windows? Mine has faded to like a grey kind of colour and i'd like it black again. If so, how have you done it?

Thanks.

Did the same to mine today, only to watch the rain ruin an hours washing and waxing :(

I've not tried this on my Supra yet, but after getting a tip off someone who restores a lot of old cars, I used black shoe Polish :) I used it on all the door seals and external seals on my Corrado, and the results were brilliant.

Personally I would made up the paintwork around where you're doing this, especially if you're using a Polish with a high silicone content. Wear gloves, but a very small amount on a microfiber cloth and gently rub it it.

I would probably experiment on a small inconspicuous area first.

But it must be well over 6 months since I did the door seals on my Corrado, and they look just as good now. :)

Use paint prep wipes first to clean them up, these are available from Halfords ;)

Thanks guys i've used bumper gel on the pieces around the driver and passenger windows for some time and it makes them come up nice and black and shiny. The problem is i'd like to restore them to their previous glory, they have some marks on, not scratches just ageing i presume that i can't seem to clean off.

And also, did either of you mean to use those methods on the metal trim round the windscreen? As i've considered painting but it'd be a nightmare. And i've tried bumper gel and it doesn't do anything for the metal.

Haha, okay mate that's fair :) i'm quite decent at painting actually, sprayed a whole car several years back and i painted my Trd end pieces myself. But i do want to get the inside of the boot area painted, so i'll just ask them to quote me for this too.

Thanks for your help mate.

You have a dream Supra =)

What are the wheels specs ?

EDIT : 19x9.5 and 10.5 ET22 sorry ^^

Thank you mate :) And yeah, they're the ones!

Looks perfect, brakes are HUGE!

Need those wheels in my life

Cheers Berg, gave those brakes a good warm on the way home :D

awesome photos Mike

I really need to get some more of mine now, this has given me some inspiration :)

Thanks mate :) You should definitely get some new ones :)

What exhaust is that you've got mate?

Fuel tank cover could do with a wipe over.:D

Haha, sorry mate i'll give it a wipe over for u :D

The exhaust is a titanium boostlogic 4", i'm half considering selling it but i'm still unsure as i waited for an absolute age to get my hands on a boostlogic.

I don't update very often but when i do i have lot's of updates all in one :D

SO!! A couple weeks ago i organised a forum dyno day at DynoDaze and i was pretty sure my car was going to run about 400hp at the flywheel, just going by numbers i'd heard for other BPU cars with similar mods to mine. Well, was in for a shock! My car made 321 at the wheels which was predicted to be about 360-365 at the fly so i wasn't best pleased, especially when the other 2 bpu cars both made roughly 360 at the wheels a whopping 40whp more!! :(

After looking at the dyno/AFR sheet it was easy to see that my car was actually running lean after the second turbo kicked in :( I had read quite a few BPU threads in the past that say having a fuel pump for bpu is optional, and the only reason i hadn't already upgraded to a 255 walbro or something was because i knew i would be going single at some point so i didn't want to throw a 255 in only to have to change it in 12 months or so.

Anyway here is the dyno print out:

So as soon as i got home that day i ordered a brand new wabro 450lph/485 whatever they are called (the e85 compatible one) and also decided to go for an AFR gauge.

I was considering several options for this as i didn't really want to run loads of gauges in my car, i want it to all look as OEM as possible so in the end i ripped out my old boost gauge and decided to go for the Innovate SCG-1 which is a wideband AFR/Boost gauge/boost controller all in one that comes with a hefty price tag to boot lol

Unfortunately i didn't take any pics of the pump or it's installation but it went in just fine but when it was fitted my car would start and then just die after about 10 seconds! :( After some chatting with Jason on here (many thanks) :) We decided i should try the 12v mod to see if that would fix it and luckily it did! This afternoon i improved that 12v mod to include a 12v 40a relay so the pump isn't running when the engines off for safety.

The new boost controller arrived a couple days later but it wasn't a straight fit into the facelift clock position unfortunately, this gauge is 52mm instead of the old gauges 60mm.

So i used a piece of decent plastic to make a template and cut out a mount for it to sit in:

image

With that made it sat perfectly in the center :) I then made some brackets to hold it down nice and firm using L brackets, just had to cut them down to size, it ending up holding it in really, really nicely :)

image

Before i could get it all working though i had to remove my midpipe and take it down to my local God of welding Craig at dynotorque. The guy is phenomenal at welding, honestly his welds could be used to make a weldporn site :D Helps that he's a nice guy and cut and welded my bung in for a tenner too :)

Fitting the Bosch wideband sensor was easy, it was fitting the bloody boost controller that was a nightmare! Didn't realise how little space there is to get pliers or tools in and around those stock twins!! not fun!! lol

Anyway, finally got it all done and wired up and now she's sitting pretty in my dash:

image

Looks wonky but it's just my wonky cameraman skills lol

And i'm now glad to report that the fuelling is all sorted (although it now runs richer than i'd like but i think that's pretty standard for the stock ecu) and the car is faster than ever, the boost controller is excellent from what I've adjusted so far, super easy to use and looks great imo. A solid investment!

So i'm 100% sure my car is now running more horsepower i'm just not sure how much more lol Doesn't really matter either, i'm just happy it's sorted and fueling and boosting well :)

I also took 30 minutes to clean up my window rubbers/seals, they gone quite hard and brittle, and were clearly sun damaged as i couldn't even tell they were rubber anymore, felt like metal lol And no back to black or cleaning products could bring them up so i masked off my front and rear glass, paint too and scotchbrited the seals all the way round then used some aerospace 303 (nicked from Sheefas stash :D) to get them back to a nice shiny black.

Before:

Should be able to see the part on the right, how grey/faded it is.

During:

I'd done the top part of this picture, although it's not the best pic.

After:

Clean and black :)

Going to give it a good scrub tomorrow and try and bring some life back into my wheels ready for Japfest on Sunday :)

His brakes are ridiculous. You can see them before the car from 100 metres away! Mahooooooossiiiiivveeee brakes :)

Great update mate and that gauge looks class. We'll have a good run up to Japfest ;)

I have to say Mike those photos above with Emil are world class man. Unbelievable quality.
