Some do. Some dont. I personally would. And when applying the new primer for the sealant to sit on remember to key the clearcoat with a medium scotchbrite

Looks fine mate. Just level of the old sealant on the glass and car now. Good job and yeah it does take ages but worth it

Yep, use a chisel style hobby blade to level off the old sealant. Use a glass adhesive that uses a primer to use on the old sealant surface before applying the new sealant

Do not use a blowtorch. The easiest way are the packs of cheap stanleys to dice away at the sealant. I removed mine and 1 at Kerons yard years ago this way. Worked 3 times.

Can solder a thin layer onto the copper. Just make sure its thin an smooth

When repairing pearls you usually need to blend into surrounding panels for it to look half decent.
