Sky Insurance - best policy, best price, best service

because Jazz. The Micra (japanese for: disposable automotive vehicles worth nothing so nobody will nick) are so easy to pinch.

I can start my micra with a sausage, and to gain entry i simply have to bash the roof.

...I'm not even joking. Last week I left my cars keys on the kitchen table, couldn't be bothered to go back inside, so started it with my house key. Simples.

Great guys to talk too, called them today not rude one bit and were very helpfull, unfortunately thy could not bet quote by admiral on my micra. Funny my renwal on my micra with Adrian flux come to 1700! When I pay 960 on my modified supra!

 

Insurance now is such a CON, how the hell can a 1.0 micra be more than a modified supra!!!

 

I used to pay £850 for my Supra, even after i had the na-tt conversion done. I pay the same for a Focus 1.6 zetec now (promised the mrs i'd keep it for at least 2 years ;)). Saying that my lowest quote for the Supra was £240 from a classic car insurers (that was just before i had my unfortunate crash and i didn't even have the chance to move my insurance to classic. :()

Just renewed with Sky again. Renewal price was much better than previous years, I still went out to try and beat it and except for HIC I couldnt beat it. I tried LWIB, Lynbrook, Comptetition and A-plan. Finally tried HIC and they came back with a better quote by about £50, Sky then got down to within £10 of it so rather than all the hassle of trying to get paperwork on the quote I went with Sky saving myself £40.

Was quoted a renewal price of £1042 with sky, flux then quoted me £629 for the same cover. Sky then beat it by quoting £572 including no claims protection, which flux didn't offer. Only difference is Flux included breakdown cover but sky don't for 15 yr old cars, which is why their price was lower. Will be phoning RAC in the morning and have renewed with sky. Wasn't happy they could busy quote this ob the first place!

They always try to sucker you into seeing how much they can get away with the first quote. Just like a woman. It is called "lets try our luck and see if we catch a sucker."

 

No surely not, that's such a cynical thing to say :innocent: i mean come on they've only come

down from £1042 to £572 :blink:

On the face of it I agree but there could well be as lot going on that you are not seeing, I cannot say for sure though without knowing the customers details. As ever, we are a little stuck in the middle here as the rates are offered to us by our specialist underwriters, we do not dictate the price you pay.

I can't imagine what other than a huge mistake is being made or as said by another

poster above, someone is trying it on.

Please do not get me wrong here, I see your point but there are other factors which could effect the situation.

 

I'm only guessing as I do not have the details, perhaps a reduction in annual mileage, change of drivers, change of vehicle/mods, change of where the vehicle is kept over night, change of insurance underwriter etc. It's also worth making the point that we must have been competitive for that particular customer originally. When we invite renewals, we ask the customer to contact us and we re-run their details if there is a change of circumstances which could effect the price paid. Renewals have always been a touchy subject but we do our utmost to keep customers with us, the price match service being part of this. I haven't checked Mkiv Supra specific renewal stats recently but across our car club/specialist vehicle scheme we run at a 70% renewal retention rate.

For me, not one single thing was changed. I actually had a 'driving other cars extension' added. If anything, it should have been more with that when I got the lower quote elsewhere. I just find it amazing that you were able to price match at almost half the cost with more things added to the policy!?

livingstones and warman when i first got my soup last year and then swithced to sky this year both have well above avarage service i would say. definatly will be ringing them first from know on.

the s@#t my missis is having we tesco at the min is a joke wont be goin near them again

Don't get why they keep playing these stupid games on renewal, why can they not quote the correct price each time, now I have to call them and get it reduced (or go elsewhere)

80% :rlol: Can't wait to see what the Sky response is, perhaps your circumstances have changed ?

we'll do our best to help everyone we can but as a broker, there is only so much we can do. We do not promise to be competitive for everyone, we'd love to insure every Mkiv Supra club member and beat every price out there, but that is impossible. I was as surprised as you that the underwriter price matched such a low price.

Thansk Ollie for the reply. Looks like the bugger I hit in the car park is claiming injury which is why the case is still open... winds me up this sort of thing, I hit him at 2mph, didn't even feel it and he is now trying to claim thousands for injury.

 

I've renewed with you again on both cars.

I have just tried for a quote in a 1995 TT auto but does not show the auto option when I type my number plate, also if I don't type my plate, it still does not show or allow me to change it from manual...

 

Plus; do you insure young drivers (20 years old) fully comp?

if so, are you competitive?
