starting to look good mate :)

Cheers Tim

Very nice!

Thanks mate

Almost there Shawn :D keep the work up and the updates

Cheers mate yeah will be alot more updates coming fast now as not much time left to do all remaining, should be ok though :)

Shawn that looks stunning the engine is a thing of beauty, especially the housing on the turbo, but can I give my 2p's worth, I reckon black silicone hose would definitely result in a cleaner look.

Thanks Jake yeah its coming together nicely now :) Yeah that was a really tough decision I was literally as close to 50/50 as could be when deciding whether to order black or blue on the silicone joiners and hoses but I opted for the blue with my primary thinking being that when finished there will be quite abit of carbon dress up parts in the engine bay and so thought having no other black in the engine bay may possibly enhance the carbon items look... this thought process still only took me to a 51/49 split in favour of the blue though so it may well be something I change after all is together and running so I can fully see the finished item :)

Another weekend closer to mapping and whilst everything is still on schedule im not going to have alot of spare time, again I was a little terrible with the photo's as I been stuck so much into the car when iv been out that iv barely given my phone a glance but here's what I got from this weekend...

Got to start on a selfie with the car :)

attachment.php?attachmentid=225991&stc=1&d=1520849375

And just another general car pic before getting stuck in...

attachment.php?attachmentid=225992&stc=1&d=1520849375

Got the fuel filters up to finish off the fuel lines from the tank to the engine bay, got the diff and the propshaft back up, painted the fuel tank guard, put the exhaust heatshield back up, started to put the intake lines in place from the intercooler up (both sides), put the wasegate back in place and built the breather lines, Pics are all out of sync as I didn't manage to take photo's as I was going so just nipped around with the camera yesterday before coming back in but here they are...

Pics of the exhaust being in place...

attachment.php?attachmentid=225994&stc=1&d=1520849375

An underneath shot showing the diff back up...

attachment.php?attachmentid=225995&stc=1&d=1520849375

And the Prop in place...

attachment.php?attachmentid=225996&stc=1&d=1520849407

Fuel filters in place...

attachment.php?attachmentid=225997&stc=1&d=1520849407

Fuel lines and Prop...

attachment.php?attachmentid=225998&stc=1&d=1520849407

Either side of the intercooler...

attachment.php?attachmentid=225999&stc=1&d=1520849407

attachment.php?attachmentid=226000&stc=1&d=1520849407

Wastegate in position...

attachment.php?attachmentid=226001&stc=1&d=1520849472

The start of the breather lines...

attachment.php?attachmentid=226002&stc=1&d=1520849472

And just as importantly as it was mothers day I managed to find time to make Mum some Chocolate Truffles and a cake :) hope you all treated your Mum's too...

  • 2 weeks later...

Well its been quite a weekend… I have again missed to photo so much due to just being busy and getting stuck in but here’s the pics that I do have…

Cut up my carbon Cam cover to suit the clear greddy cover…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226239&stc=1&d=1522154604

Fitted my Injectors and rail…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226240&stc=1&d=1522154604

Finished getting my intercooler pipes fabricated then Mum was kind enough to give them a good clean for me to ensure no dust or anything inside them…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226241&stc=1&d=1522154604

Trial fitted my new Air Filter (think it was a little to small)…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226242&stc=1&d=1522154604

Then it was time for her to come out the garage for 4 wheel alignment…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226243&stc=1&d=1522154604

Being wide arch made it a tight fit on the trailer…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226244&stc=1&d=1522154635

But then out she comes…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226245&stc=1&d=1522154635

attachment.php?attachmentid=226246&stc=1&d=1522154635

Arrived at John Woods Tyres for 4 wheel alignment…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226247&stc=1&d=1522154635

attachment.php?attachmentid=226248&stc=1&d=1522154635

Got back home and put the UK bonnet scoop back in…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226249&stc=1&d=1522154676

Next was putting the turbo housing back on with the turbo jacket and strut brace…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226250&stc=1&d=1522154676

attachment.php?attachmentid=226251&stc=1&d=1522154676

attachment.php?attachmentid=226252&stc=1&d=1522154676

Arrived at ProTuner for mapping and put the front bumper on…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226253&stc=1&d=1522154676

attachment.php?attachmentid=226254&stc=1&d=1522154705

attachment.php?attachmentid=226255&stc=1&d=1522154705

attachment.php?attachmentid=226256&stc=1&d=1522154705

attachment.php?attachmentid=226257&stc=1&d=1522154705

And lastly an achievement selfie with my Dad who I could never of done half of what I achieved without him…

attachment.php?attachmentid=226258&stc=1&d=1522154705

Now she’s at mapping and will keep up to date with the progress however he thinks it will be a couple of weeks as he is also wiring in the Syvecs and sensors before putting a base map on then running in the engine for me before doing a full power run and also setting up bits like traction control, launch control, anti-lag etc…

Just awaiting on the updates now and will keep you all posted.

Awesome work mate.. Well done.

Thanks mate :)

Awesome stuff Shawn

Cheers Kev :)

how come you swapped out the HKS rail mate? you should of said as i'd have fitted one of mine while it was here, if i knew you were going to replace it for something else

I wasn't planning to mate it was a last minute decision when I looked at inner barrel diameters, think the HKS one would be ok but this one has a bigger barrel diameter so at least I know 100% the capacity is there :)

Looking good mate!, did you do anything with the ends of the ic piping? smooth they`ve got a chance of popping off.

Cheers mate :) nope I have left them smooth but they are stainless steel so are alot stronger than aluminium and I have got mikalor clamps so that I could do them really tight (although think Greg is doing a pressure/smoke test atm so hope im not speaking to soon lol)

Saw this on FB, but more details are found here :D

Great stuff Shawn, plus spring is around the corner so perfect timing. Looking forward to the final dyno result.

Hahaha yep I always put little bits on facebook but I save my more detailed updates for this thread on the forum :) Thanks mate yeah shouldn't be too long now aslong as all goes to plan :)

Love this car, it's looking fantastic, great work.

Thankyou mate :)

Ah yiiiis. Can't wait to see the results of this

Haha cheers bud me too :D

Awesome looking machine, good work

Thankyou mate :) yeah certain area's of this build have been far passed my capabilities so had to get alot done professionally but have done as much as possible myself and has given that extra sense of achievement with the outcome that i'm proud of :) Just got to wait for the results now
