SR 20DET with a nice turbo and 350BHP would give you a nice kick;) 2JZ might be a bit much;)

I would have said Honda f20, but putting a 4 cylinder lump in one of these would be criminal.

I have a lovely brand new all alloy V6 Chrysler looking for a new home, that will give 320 + BHP in N/A format on throttle bodies. Well developed set up, and very reliable. Engine is in need of pistons and cams, and the TB stuff, and it's dry sumped, so would sit low in the chassis.

Love these, great shout! I'd be inspecting that one thoroughly again though... looks like it could be hiding a lot of sins... potential crustiness abounds. :(

What you seeing? I know I need to check the front struts...

If it turns out not to be a rot box needing mega money on rust repairs I would keep it stock engine on a modern management system. Should be relatively straight forward to put on a single or multiple TB's and multi coil ignition. Could *LOOK* nice too, on 6 throttle bodies and a smart plenum. The 240Z gearbox is a dream so long as the synchros aren't tired. My partner got an indicated 100MPH in one through the back end of Northenden, the most terrifying run in a road car I can recall, and I experienced a few before I became sensible :) Such a pretty car, never approached by the 260 and 280Z's

  • 2 weeks later...

Good news.... as the blue escort will be moving to a new owner shortly, it looks like this may actually be getting restored this winter :D Hoping that I can get the car in and start getting it stripped at some point in December!

I have taken Friday next week off and will be getting the gasket and fluid service done. Then it will be getting a tune-up ;)
