Broke my promise here! (not straightened the IC lol) Had a recent meet with Ric and Drew from Sheffield who are owners of some epic supras. Link to the full photoshoot can be found HERE

I have pulled a few out of the thread of mine...

I also attended a meet at Croft, met lads from Yorkshire and the North East, the weather was poor, but it was nice seeing so many supras and old faces. After coming back the car was filthy. I fitted some number plate screw covers and gave the car a clean..

Next jobs are to finally straighten that intercooler pipe, and more importantly resolve the speedo issues, and then work on the engine bay.

Im debating on some face lift rear lights but I am not sure at the moment.

Awesome pictures mate.

Cheers Ken

Yareet mate cars looking mint and sound great. What have you done to the BOV just removed it and blocked both ends up ? Are you getting the flutter at high speeds when coming of throttle or is it mostly low revs slow speeds. Ah and I'm in love with them wheels :)

Cheers buddy, yes I removed the old one and just blocked it up with some silicone end caps from autosilicone hoses, the flutter can be heard at high speeds infact its probably more louder :) As for long term effects, I am not sure LOL cheers re: wheels

Thought I would update as its been a while, cheers for the comment^

I bought a spare set of turbo pipes from Marc ages ago and I managed to hand them into work as we have a paintshop at work, the lads did a great job...

attachment.php?attachmentid=205140&stc=1&d=1442787289

Not bad for free :)

Having taken the turbo pipes off years ago when I changed my turbo I knew it was a PITA, and after loads of swearing I managed to take it off. I decided to paint the heat shield and water neck with crinkle paint whilst everything was off. I also bought some new gaskets for the water neck as well as cam cover gaskets as that will be painted next...

attachment.php?attachmentid=205155&stc=1&d=1442787857

Here are a few progress shots

Where it started

attachment.php?attachmentid=205141&stc=1&d=1442787289

After a clean up

attachment.php?attachmentid=205142&stc=1&d=1442787289

After painting and a few bits dipped and the spark plug cover crinkle painted

attachment.php?attachmentid=205143&stc=1&d=1442787313

Not happy about the red at the back of engine so I will be finding a way to hide that.

Prep and Paint

Shot with the heat shield on and 2nd turbo pipe and battery stay

attachment.php?attachmentid=205149&stc=1&d=1442787338

Everything fitted (Minus strut brace)

attachment.php?attachmentid=205150&stc=1&d=1442787338

attachment.php?attachmentid=205151&stc=1&d=1442787338

attachment.php?attachmentid=205154&stc=1&d=1442787350

Pretty happy with how its turned out, now I need to paint the cam covers and the right side intake stuff but Im in no rush. The next job is to finally resolve my speedo issue and straighten the intercooler (i think I have said that about 10 times now lol)

Coil Pack Clips broken

Luckily I had bought new ones when I went BPU last year

attachment.php?attachmentid=205469&stc=1&d=1444243983

Pipe sat behind the cam cover needed a paint

attachment.php?attachmentid=205470&stc=1&d=1444243983

New Spark Plugs

It made sense...

attachment.php?attachmentid=205471&stc=1&d=1444243983

Preping and Painting

attachment.php?attachmentid=205472&stc=1&d=1444243983

I made a paint booth out of thick insulatuon I had in the basement, and sanded the cams down to bare metal...

attachment.php?attachmentid=205476&stc=1&d=1444243983

New Parts

Ordered new cam washers, and breather hoses as mine had to be chopped up, these were a fortune!

I also ordered new cam seals and gromit

attachment.php?attachmentid=205477&stc=1&d=1444243983

End Results

attachment.php?attachmentid=205478&stc=1&d=1444243983

attachment.php?attachmentid=205479&stc=1&d=1444243983

attachment.php?attachmentid=205481&stc=1&d=1444243983

Shows that taking a little time, can give good results... Not totally happy with the spark plug cover as its a bit patchy in areas but it was my first attempt (that I made about a month ago)

I big thanks for Iky with soldering the new coil pack clips into the existing wiring and helping with assembly

I wont have the time to finish painting the Intake side before Japshow Finale...

Very nice mate, come such a long way since I saw it with the red front bumper on at the anniversary meet all that time ago. Its a credit to you!

Dont suppose you still have your old turbo pipes do you? If so drop me a pm.

lol yes that was a year ago now? yes done a fair bit since then and had many ups and downs. I do have my old pipes however I plan to keep them and get them wrinked to match the cam covers...and also I have offered them out to local supra owners to get painted etc so they can do a straight swap with theirs (but returning them back to me) Sorry :(

Great work mate :)

cheers

Hi Chris, I used VHT Black Wrinkle paint

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VHT-BLACK-WRINKLE-FINISH-SPRAY-PAINT-SP201-/251713042331?hash=item3a9b44379b

Fairly easy to use, you just have to put on 3 thick layers and use heat (in my case a gas fire) between the coats until you see it wrinkle. If you look a little further back at my battery stay you get that effect if you put it in an oven at 100c.
