Wouldn't you be better off getting a standard used engine in the car or a new short or long block as I question the trust in the muppet of a mechanic in building a forged engine

You have a very good point... change of plans again..! Chris Wilson is building me the block..! Dodged the bullet again..!

What a relief that's me got all parts ordered, payed and on its way to Chris Wilson to build my forged block..! Hopefully by my Birthday on the 26th of January I will have the car sitting outside my house.

Glad you've got someone you can trust to build it for you.

I hope everything works out for you this time round :)

Just a little update on my most unfortunate build thread; for those who hasn't been following, I had bottom end failure when tuning my car 'Ryan G remote tuning'. After investigating I found out that the oil lines from the HKS oil relocation filter to block had been crossed so there wasn't any oil going to engine block since the filter was blocking passage.

The garage that did the work to my car offered to complete engine rebuilt with parts provided by myself for 500 euros which included the dyno session and turn over key completion of the car.

Since this would be there first 2JZ-GTE engine build I decided to have an engine built in the UK and Chris Wilson was able to come to the rescue and offer me a great price for a block he had laying around and a set of new forged JE-Pistons.

In the package Chris included some OEM rods but after some discussion I decided to up-grade the rods to Maxspeedingrods; Chris told me there are some of the GTR guys using these on their track cars with great results. They are suppose to be a reverse engineering copy of the very expensive Carrilo Rods.

I have also decided to send my VVTI head to Chris so he can fully refresh it with new OEM parts and make it up to the block.

Full Engine Spec 'New':

Freshly Re-Bored Engine Block

JE Over sized Forged Pistons

ARP L19 Rod Bolts

OEM Oil Pump

OEM Bearings

OEM Crank Dampener

Whifbitz billet cam belt tensioner

Spark Plugs NGK R7436-9

TRD Thermostat

ARP Head Bolts

OEM Engine Gaskets

OEM Cambelt

SRD 200amp Alternator

VVTI Head Freshly Rebuilt with OEM parts.

I have also taken the advice of both Chris and Jamie P and replace my HKS oil filter core with a Setrab 25 Row matrix heavy duty oil cooler. I will clean the lines and HKS oil cooler relocation filter adapter with fuel and blow air and re-use it, that along with the new oil pump and rebuilt engine should guarantee me that there won't be any particles of the bearings in the oil system.

After talking to Ryan G he told me that I shouldn't worry about the turbo since the filter would of prevented for any crap getting to it so I will only flush the oil lines to it and wont bother sending it to a turbo specialist for a rebuild.

When the head was removed there was no sign of damage on the pistons at all, and the mechanic working on the car told me that he believes it was the bearings that went on it.

Below is my VVTI head which I packaged using a plastic container and insulating foam and sent it to Chris; the parcel arrived in 1 peace of hopefully soon Chris will start tearing into it and refreshing it.

Just a little update, Chris Wilson is still working on my head apparently there's not much left to do. I am waiting for some photos hopefully have something soon..!

The engine build is taken 6 months so far but whats keeping me positive is knowing its been done properly..!

Still my Supra love is running on fumes just now with the project taken almost 2 years now and my car is in bits..! Started to think its a mugs game, could be driving around in a F430 Spyder for not much more then I spent on it so far.

Hopefully Bignum will come round today at my Hotel to take me for a spin in his Supra to help me re gain supra love.

Today I was blessed with an update and photo attachment from Chris Wilson, below is a quoted from his email to me describing what he encountered during the re build of the vvti head.

If you look carefully at the valves in my hand the inlet valve has

dark patches despite being lapped. it's an example of one of the bent

and burnt valves. Some valve springs were in upside down, and some

hardened shims missing, which would have affected valve spring

preload, and stopped the valve rotating. I have also hardness tested

the casting and it's excellent, not having been seriously overheated.
