  1. RD tax is cheap around £230 a yr Lots of things to look out for as a lot of these cars are now getting on for 20 yrs old and all of them are over 10 yrs old Impossible to give you running costs as it depends on use
  2. I did but i used mine when i had the tailgate painted and sold the front one. Buy new from Toyota would be my advice as they go stiff with age not sure you can save the seals anyway as they get cut out. You can get the side quarters out if your careful Surely you don't need a part number as its pretty obvious what part you need, even to the more lame Toyota parts workers. Failing that Steve Manley wont need part numbers so just give him a bell
  3. Kev O is in Bristol and he has a UK spec, i'm sure he'd let you try one of your wheels on his car if you asked him
  4. Use the tool i posted the pic of and if it doesnt pop out whilst the tool has pressure on it hold a hammer onto the side of the hub where the ball joint thread goes through and hit it with another hammer and it should pop out.
  5. One of these is what i'd use then you don't risk damaging the arm or hub
  6. Until you refurb the one you've kerbed touch in the marks with a black marker pen

    Torque setting

Over tightening them is more likely to crack the cam cover than split the seal. 8 NM is bugger all and will be easily over tightened, use a 1/4 drive ratchet gently
  8. Definitely not clutch related ?
  9. Can you not hear the noise in front of the car with the bonnet open. I guess you've ruled out it being linked to the clutch ?
  10. If the brakes are the original set that came with the car i'd be having a close look at them first. Check to see if all the pistons move freely and the calipers move freely on the slider pins on both front and rear. If the above is all good then i'd be looking at the brake lines if their the stock hoses and as suggested be doing a full fluid change.

  13. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?274740-Long-brake-pedal-after-a-couple-of-hard-stops Post number 9
  14. Ask Ian C which vacuum bleeder he bought not too long ago, the best and easiest way to bleed the brakes
  15. Hire a big crane and lift it over the house
  16. The idiot at my local Toyota dealer is the same so i don't use them anymore but had my say before i left the last time i was there. Some are simply shocking and really make you wonder how they ever got a job dealing with the public
  17. I'd be having a look at the dampers and springs
  18. Give me a v10 any day just for the sound track
  19. Just go to a local motor factors, even halfords and you should be able to buy the hose. I'd replace both of them and think about replacing all the other hoses as well

    crazy supra

Its been ripped to pieces several times on here already Its not airbrushing, its what decorators call rag rolling
  21. Someone on here bought their kit and the retainer rings looked awful, i think they said they would replace them though. Being rather anal when it comes to parts like this i prefer to use O/E and know what i've got is 100 % as it should be.
  22. If you use big red be careful as i have seen a seal kit with horrible retainer rings in it which i personally wouldn't use.
  23. Can't be worse than the pos in post number 1 surely ?
