  1. Your nearest motorcycle shop might be a good start as most tend to sell all the kit to go with the bike
  2. I'd be wearing one no matter what your car gets through the lights at.
  3. Is it connected to the radiator just below the rad cap ? it does look like the stock expansion tank. All the Workshop manuals are on the home page on the forum, top left click on repair manuals. If you cant find them pm me your email address and i'll send you all the pdf files i have
  4. No not really. You could try topping up the expansion tank to the max level and fit a new rad cap and see if that fixes your problem. If the rad cap is old this could be your problem Does your heater blow out hot on its max hot setting ? Have a look in the cooling-coolant wsm pdf page CO-14 CO.pdf
  5. If the coolant is just rusty water i'd drain and flush out the system, fit a new stat and refill with fresh coolant inc the expansion tank, fit a new rad cap and take it it from there. Fit o/e stat and rad cap It just so happens i have Toyota Coolred engine coolant for sale at a bargin price if you want it. Where in the midlands are you ?
  6. When its cold take the rad cap off, is the coolant up to the top of the rad and is there any coolant in the expansion tank ? And no it shouldn't do that. Also does your heater blow out nice hot air on max hot setting ?
  7. A member here had a set off them not that long ago and the lacquer peeled off one of them in a very short space of time and Ultralite weren't that helpful as far as i can remember

    BC Racing Coilovers

Thats fine mate and you can only go on your own experience. It would be interesting to know how well they stand the test of time and mileage
  9. Who made the prop, i'd be giving them a call and see if they can have a look at yours

I was thinking over 50k or more to be honest, my o/e dampers did over 100k before a rear failed

    BC Racing Coilovers

Has anyone done any decent mileage on these yet ?

You can keep the same ride height by lowering the profile of the tyres on the 18" wheels even when using o/e dampers and springs Put the stock sizes in the calculator and then your new size to see what profile/width of tyre gets you nearest to the stock overall tyre diameter http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator.htm
  13. I'd give Keron a call and see if hes got a prop etc in good condition and swap the lot.
  14. Check the WSM engine mechanical pdf for the GE engine, pretty sure the torque figures are in there. The cam covers crack quite easily so be careful, this is why you should use a new seal/gasket as it will seal even at such low torque unlike the seal once its old and gone hard. People tend to just keep tightening the cover down when they leak which is risky and not the best thing to do as the old seal has no give in it.
  15. Very low around 8 nm
  16. Did you check the slider pins ?
  17. What brakes are on your car. As far as knocking etc is concerned i'd get it on a ramp for an hour with a decent mechanic and have a look at all the bushes ball joints and check for play. I'd then go round and torque up all the nuts and bolts on the suspension including the subframe bolts.
  18. Hope its cured for you and glad to help, i always start with the cheap fix first, the mkiv engines aren't known for doing head gaskets.
  19. Very easily adjusted my post was in shock at an import with such high mileage
  20. I was taking the mickey to be honest, i thought all imports were sub 100,000 kms
  21. Surely the mileage can't be right and they've added 100,000 kms by mistake
  22. Nothing stopping you from organising something

    Front - End alignment

Mine was lower and had no problems getting the geo done, get a proper job done and not just the front, the rear wheels are camber and toe adjustable as well.
  24. SMIC from CW is the way to go Lots of plus's going this route, keep your airbox, dont block of the airflow to the radiator, no need to relocate the ps cooler or expansion tank or lose the front electronic splitter if you have one.
