    Europe

Completely agree. It's a concern I have about all referendums. People are easily led, and bulls**t is easily propagated. Not just by the usual suspects of social media either: Boris Johnson, a politician whose persona and gravitas I admire, I think has been using his column in the Telegraph to put forward some half-truths about this subject.

    Europe

In. Predominantly for trade/economic reasons: specifically ease of trading with the Eurozone. The UK's economy is dominated by the service sector (rightly or wrongly), and financial services in particular. I'm concerned that these kinds of companies would relocate some or all of their activities to the Eurozone if we vote Out. There's a chance that leaving Europe would allow us free reign to make trade deals with countries like China and India. That's what Switzerland has done with China: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-35615604. It's a tough one.
  3. Is this true for NA supras as well? Whilst TT prices are sky-rocketing, NA prices seem to have risen far less.
  4. £1000 deposit seems OK: it's just under 10% of the value. From Dnk's description of their compund, it sounds quite normal, and better than some of the traders out there *cough* High Wycombe *cough*. Ideally I'd like to see them take photos in their compound- it looks like the cars are photographed elsewhere when they are put up for sale. Not enough to put you off going to see it, but just beware. Maybe a local member on here could take a look for you?
  5. 50mm prime is a good lens, it or similar should be a staple for anyone interested in photography. They're not called Nifty Fifty for nothing. Hijack over, sorry.
  6. Virtua Racer was a reasonable 2 player racing arcade.
  7. Great shout on Double Dragon H. Brings back great memories!
  8. Good choice! I've always had a soft spot for the ST205. Looks *much* nicer than the later Celicas IMO.
  9. I've tried to find a post about this from Chris Wilson a while ago, but couldn't find it. He explains it better than I can. IIRC the gist was that bigger is not always better. If you're running serious power upgrades like the OP, that might change things, but if you're running stock or BPU power, I'd keep to OEM Supra filters. Apologies to the OP, a bit of a hjack there.
  10. I think there's a fuse you can pull to disable TC.
  11. Contact barneybrendan about it: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?329686-1973-corvette-stingray
  12. Info I found about it: http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jan/20/four-syrian-refugees-must-brought-calais-camp-britain-judges-rule
  13. I'm (pleasantly) surprised that the franchise became as big as it did. On paper, the storyline doesn't seem to have legs.
  14. It might not be that simple though. If someone rarely drives, it *might* (I don't have evidence, but it's plausible) mean that they're more likely to have an accident because they're out of practice. I'm not saying you fall into that category, but other occasional or part-year drivers might, especially in the first few days after bringing their car out of winter hibernation. These are all factors in the rather complicated and opaque world of insurance risk.
  15. You could insure on a classic policy for 2 years, then every third year insure on a standard policy. If the policies run back-to-back (i.e. no significant gaps in between them), then if you start the third year's policy (the standard one) a few days before the 2nd one runs out, you'll have taken it out within 2 years (just!) of the previous standard one expiring. Maybe it's a faff, but it's an option.
  16. Classic car insurance is certainly cheaper than standard insurance. They don't make allowances for the car only being driven 6 months in a year though. What you'd need for that is a policy that lasts less than a year. Or, could you pay for your policy monthly, and cancel it when you SORN the car? (although that will incur credit charges from the insurance company). There's a catch with classic car insurance: it doesn't accrue or maintain NCD. So if you insure your car on classic car insurance for more than 2 years, your NCD gets lost. You might still find that it's cheaper to do that though.
  17. Yep. The EU political structure can be incredibly wasteful, but I don't see it as dangerous.
  18. Maybe I'm sleepwalking into a political/economic mess, but I don't feel the same level of catastrophe as most people on this thread do.
  19. David Cameron, yes granted, he's from a wealthy background IIRC. But Jeremy Corbyn? I agree the Trump debate is a pointless waste of time, I wouldn't be surprised if it were started by a campaign on Faceache.
  20. Long shot, but is the gearbox still available?
  21. The issues you're describing don't sound specific to CCTV. It sounds like a "standard" home networking problem (by that I mean the kind of problem that any home networked device could suffer, not just CCTV). With your cctv, is it all wireless, or just the cameras that connect wirelessly to the cctv base station? It sounds like your setup is more complex than 1 or 2 wireless cameras connecting wirelessly to your router. I'm guessing you have a unit with a hard disk in, to record the footage: this is what I mean by the base station. How does your base station connect to the router: wired, or wireless? I'm making a lot of guesses here, but I guess that you've changed or reset your sky router, and your cctv either isn't recognised as an authorised device (MAC address filtering at the router), or it's on a different IP address range which often means the devices can't connect to each other. Does everything else in your home network work? Do you have anything else in your home network? Which of these are wired, and which are wireless? What I would do: Connect the cctv system directly to a laptop via an ethernet cable. Establish a connection: it may require setting the laptop's IP config to something else, especially if your router uses DHCP. Check the cctv's IP address(es) are in the range you want to use in your network. You shouldn't need to modify anything here, it's just a check. Check that the cctv system knows the current wireless password you're using (aha! a likely cause) Connect the laptop back to the router. Ensure the router either has MAC address filtering disabled, or allows the MAC addy(es) of the cctv. There's a lot of geeky language here. It's hard to summarise quickly without it. At each step, the next step is a choice of about 5 things depending on the results of the previous step. Don't be put off. It doesn't take long at all.
  22. I say it's a scam: 1) I doubt Royal Mail would notify you by email. How would they know your email address? I would think they'd notify you via a card through your door. 2) Detecting counterfeit goods isn't RM's business. That would be Trading Standards. It's a specialist job. Sure, they could deduce some some obviously counterfeit goods are moody. Or could they? Some of the stuff that the fashion houses turn out, I think look a bit hideous, so I'd struggle to 100% say something is counterfeit, unless the brand name is spelt wrong or the logo is wrong. Even so, I'd bet money that RM don't spend their time on this activity. It's easy to spoof an email address though. You'd have to look through the internet headers to tell it's been spoofed (some anti-virus programs will do this for you, I think).
  23. Update: the engine cough is much reduced after I removed the throttle body for a good clean. This video gave me the idea to do it: Oil consumption is still high. I'll try the Forte flush tomorrow. I suspect the cause of my issues is sticking/worn oil control rings as Benjy suggested. The engine's only got 75k miles on it so hopefully they're not worn. I'm guessing that sticky rings are causing excessive oil to be recirculated via the EGR. This is coating the throttle plate in grime, which in turn causes things like the misfire. I'm jumping the gun here, but I've done some research on my next course of action if the Forte doesn't help. I'm considering Terraclean, or a kerosene flush to free up those rings. I've read that some people have had good results from using both, specifically the kerosene for helping oil consumption. I'd use a 4l oil to 500ml kerosene mix. Others suggest that running for a few minutes on kerosene is a really great way to knacker your engine as it strips away the lubricants on the moving parts. Any suggestions?
