  1. I want to change my Autobox fluid but I read a post on supra forums suggesting dextron 3 but a couple of people say to only use the toyota stuff and people have had the box go within a month or two after, is the ATF from Toyota stupidly expensive?
  2. Nice shirts, can you guys sort some Titan windscreen sunstrips? I remember seeing them on the site but I don't think it allowed for them to be delivered to the UK.
  3. I had a bit of an issue with one of my rear brakes binding today whilst stuck in the middle of nowhere and so not much to do but nurse it home slowly. I have a spare caliper to swap on but the disc itself is toast. Ages back I needed some rear discs (as I do now) and someone recommended I use discs for another car that are exactly the same but without the 'supra tax'. Things are a little tight at the moment so if anyone knows what the 'cheap version' is please let me know. I think it was about £115 for both rears. Cheers.
  4. Very nice, I have always loved the spitfire. I watched the wheeler dealer episode with one on and it's so simple that even I could probably do half the stuff, I think they said one suspension shock was about 60 quid. They don't seem too bad price wise either, it's just the lack of garage that would put me off getting one.
  5. I am losing track now Craig are you just down to the one supra? I remember a silver one, a black track car and a newer black car that was for keeps.
  6. 1. Remove the 5 scuttle screws 2. Remove bottom rubber strip (very fiddly, may lose some clips) 3. Remove the wiper covers at the base and 2 bolts You should be able to free it now. I sprayed mine black and it came out quite well even with my poor skills. A few of the fishbone ribs were damaged on mine, if I had longer I would have removed all these between the ribs, sanded it back and sprayed. Still wish someone would make a carbon fibre or fibreglass version of this though.
  7. Sorry to hear this Dave, don't lose faith. Sounds like a good condition second hand unit is the way to go. Hopefully you will be up and running again soon.
  8. Kipping in the car Dave, hope you put some money aside for a back brace . Should be good on Wednesday, make sure you get a bunch of pics and some video as well.
  9. Right guys, I hope you can help and have my sanity and hands from being cut to ribbons. A few months back I damaged the passenger side alarm sensor that sits on the passenger pillar and have recently got a new one to install. Now this involves finding the after market control box and so removing dash panels. That bit I think I can handle, at the same time it made sense to have a de-clutter of all the junk cabling that was behind the dash. So far I have removed two sunvisor TV screen control boxes and an amplified ariel for the analogue TV tuner on the head unit. Now I want to remove the defi heads up display unit that has been unplugged since I purchased the car and tidy up the wiring elsewhere. As you can see it's a bit of a bombsite at the moment.... Is there any way of removing the ducting for the air vents without removing the whole dash? as the wiring seems to be hidden behind it.
  10. Ha I was going to type the same thing. Had some in my celica and they were a massive pain when you went in with wet feet, scratched quite easily also, they lasted about a week.
  11. I had an odd one recently, the tescos near me has an underground car park and so I went in and went past the usual teenagers parked up in cars playing music affair and went to park up nearish the store entrance. I found a space with 2 empty spaces next to it (as most people here would do) and a few moments later the kids in cars had followed me and parked up either side, didn't say anything to me just pulled up. Sat in the car for a while messing with my phone and then got out. Odd. I still reckon it's 99% young kids who point the car out to their olds, I have yet to find a woman who likes Supras.
  12. I have been on track a couple of times and the car is absolutely flying! I wouldn't worry about having an auto in the slightest, what I would be concerned about is as the others say getting a decent set of pads and making sure you have decent cooling and let the car idle for a decent time when you finish. I was suprised how much the stock pads faded during the laps.

    eBay midpipe

Can you link the ad? if it's made of stainless steel then could be worth checking out, although probably not such a concern if you are in Japan.
  14. I had the bleed nipple problem and it was getting through lots of fluid. I picked up a spare set of brakes from another user on here who said they were from a soarer (I think). Anyway they use the same pads front and back as the jspecs and the fronts are a different design and don't appear to suffer the same issue. It would be nice to upgrade at some point but unless you are going round a track I think Jspecs are fine for most people.
  15. Most of these look nice, I don't like the top secret one though its way overboard, with the light stuck in the middle it makes me think...
  16. I can handle most stuff but I have a squeeky tensioner. Doesn't cause any harm but annoying when it does it for the first minute or so.
  17. Nice progress, did you use any special kit for the respray? How long did it take you, propper windows out job though I like it.
  18. Had it break a month ago, I basically stretch ny legs a little further to the pedals I am holding out for someone to bin a ratty front one as people tend to just want rid or buy a manual sliding one id it becomes available. As I understand there are 2 motors, it seems the motor nearest the centre console has gone on mine. I think the internal cogs are only plastic and it is those that die. Might try and take it apart and see if I can find a replacement in metal.
  19. I have used the autoglym stuff and it works well but you have to be prepared to put the work in. I think I will go the powder coating route eventually
  20. I replaced the first part on my superdragger, about 2 weeks later I replaced the rest
  21. With the small set I put together from various bits to keep in the car I have... Socket set and handles Screw driver set Hex driver (Engine cover) Small length of thin boost hose Small length of wider boost hose Zip Ties WD40 3 Coil pack replacement clips Red / Black electrical tape Spark Plugs Wrench / Pliers Suspension C Spanners Thick fabric tape Short length of wire Needle nose tweezers (Handy for joining T1 & TE1 for diagnostics If people are carrying some of theirs around in your car how do you secure it? I wedge mine behind the passenger seat rather than have it rattle about in the boot. I might add a small bottle of oil and coolant at some point if I get a bigger box.
  22. A while back mine would sometimes get stuck open. Maybe its something similar? it was an easy fix, take apart the BOV with an allen key and check the valve bit itself, this is the black disk bit that connects with 5 legs to another disk behind it to make the seal. It had simply come unclipped on mine, bit of glue to make sure it didnt happen again and put it back together and no problems since.
  23. I think you will struggle to get any decent modern gaming out of an AGP card as likely its paired with a fairly low end processor. I think the most powerful (and likely final) AGP card was the Radeon 4650. I have an AGP ATI X700 Pro and a 9600 pro both with 256mb, I think diablo 3 would make them cry, put the cash towards a new PC I say.
  24. I'd go for a stock steering wheel or a nice all black aftermarket one personally.
  25. does this message appear after the user logs in? Do a CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to new from the toolbar and type explorer.exe which should hopefully bring your start bar and windows icons up as I guess this is hiding them. You should have a nose around the processes tab and end anything dodgey looking.
