  1. Agree with the above - we have some really cheap/old GFX cards that are DVI, but come with a DVI cable which splits into two, for 2 monitors. Not quite sure how this works, as it doesn't just duplicate the monitors, but allows for extended desktop across both screens. Works nicely.
  2. All the DELLS we use and order here at work have COM ports: Basically the D600/D610/D620 range, or you can go more powerful with the Precision Laptops, but they are big and heavy.
  3. For those with the Defi DIN Gauge: Am i right in assuming the scales on each dial on the defi website are the only scales available? I'm researching into this, and it seems that the boost isn't in bar/psi, and the temps are in degrees F rather than Centigrade..... I suppose if this is the case then I'd make my own "DIN Gauge" using 3 52mm Defi gauges in a facia from ebay or whatever. Will cost more, but at least you can choose your gauges and scales.
  4. FINALLY! We've exchanged! Moving on 12th October! Can't wait!
  5. Surely at that rate the first part you buy will be out of date/superseeded by the time the PC is completed? I'd just save the £150 a month, then buy the PC bits all in 1 go - that way you'll get the best you can at that point in time, and if any of the components are faulty/no-good then you can take them back straight away.
  6. yeah, what he said. But I voted red as it goes with most colours IMO.
  7. building a PC is much like modding a car - once you start you just can't stop - you'll be buying more and more and more :D
  8. But how much does it cost to get the whole lot done (inc. handle removal, filling and painting)???? I know this will only be an approx. price as it would depend on who did it - but a ballpark figure would be great And I can't imagine a well looked after car (like most on here) would have too many problems with flat batteries....
  9. Ditto the above comments. Flippin' FABULOUS car, and well worth keeping if you can! Don't do it!
  10. what sort of dosh are we talking for a steering wheel retrim?
  11. http://www.arridgegaragedoors.com/fitting_garage_doors.htm 2nd diagram helps my point.
  12. i know i was looking at this recently, but as my garage was in a block (on the end - bigger than the other garages) I actually found out i needed planning consent to do it - not planning permission as such, just someone needed to come and check out what i did to make sure that it was done properly, and didn't look out of place. It did mean getting a load of forms and paying a fee to do it. Doesn't matter now anyway - I never did buy that house. Anyway - assuming yours isn't in a block, there are a couple of types of door with respect to the location of the runners or frame. Some can mount from the inside, or some mount within the garage door opening - perhaps you could change to the first type, giving you maybe another inch or two??? Trying to find the website I had which explained this in diagrams which really helped me. Otherwise it'd mean taking a row of bricks out I'd have thought?
  13. they said they want "whatever we've got". We haven't got the 10% anyway, because the money our buyer was supposed to be giving us was going to make us up to that amount. I think we've got about 4%. I'll see what they can do tomorrow morning!
  14. Anyone know what Tiscali are like?????? C'mon peeps - someone make a recommendation please!
  15. Right, well for those who are actually reading this thread, exchange is either going to happen tomorrow or friday Our buyer is getting 110% mortgage :O which is bad news for us - he has no deposit, which is the opposite of what we were told before - he was supposed to be giving his fee's etc in deposit. Anyway, left us in an awkward position, the developers at the end of the chain won't exchange on £0 deposit - so WE have to put money down, but not actually get any from our buyer. Means if it falls through, we have to go through small-claims court etc to get money from him. Does anyone know anything about this, and care to shed some light? We're in a tight spot - exchange/complete on sameday is not an option for the rest of the chain, so I don't think we've got a choice??? Thx in advance!
  16. damn, no option for "other" Please add me to the "really really wants one, but doesn't have one yet" group
  17. Those 3 gauges in that single DIN slot under the stereo - this is exactly what I want in my car when I get it. I've seen a link on here somewhere with the details - but roughly how much did they set you back, if you don't mind me asking??? Thanks
  18. that's what I thought - I'm assuming said sensor comes with the gauge. Am I also right in thinking that expensive/better gauges come in 2 seperate pieces - like some kind of sensor controller, and then all gauges plug into the controller unit? I think Defi do this? Or have I misunderstood? EDIT: Sorry for hijacking thread - won't say any more - promise!
  19. I am a bit lost with these electrical gauges - mechanical ones I understand - and have plumbed these in before. What do you mean by "boost going to a switch" - I'm assuming there must be something somewhere to actually read the boost values?
  20. Interesting... what is that gauge like mate? Seem to be quite good value?
