  1. Good luck! Sure you'll be fine!
  2. I've always liked the clifford alarms, I think it's the concept series that seems quite good (although never owned one, seen them on cars and work well) However - the alarm is always only as good as the fitter - so I always find a reputable/approved garage to fit one.

    ToyotaGT

well thats good to know - let us know how you get on because they'll be not far from my new house
  4. I do still want an aerotop... but it would be a pain having to put the roof on/off just to get in and out But Dukes of Hazzard - good thinking that man
  5. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=136&highlight=polisher That'll be the one
  6. Porter Cable Polisher is the one you'll want, but I think you'll have to import it, and change the psu from 110 to 240v to get it to work. Think there is a guide on DW somewhere. I'll have a look.
  7. well we've just spotted a HUGE spider on the wall of the stairs in our block of flats. The body of the spider itself was bigger than a 1p piece. I kid you not. Scared us sh*tless! We left it and got in our flat - i've been a bit paranoid about it since! Hope it's not there tomorrow when we go out... Or perhaps I should hope it IS there, so I actually know where it is, and know that it isn't lurking in the flat somewhere! Argh!
  8. I didnt do anything today - just went straight for the beer. That way I'm not gonna be disappointed
  9. I'm a numpty too, and still not brave enough to do this to my car, yet I'm fine when it came to fitting a boost gauge or ripping the dash apart! What is the torque setting for a spark plug in a Supra? Does it differ to other engines? I know it's only barely passed hand-tight.... but I'm always scared I'll snap it off!
  10. well people, fingers crossed we exchange this week Got back from viewing the house again this morning - must say we both LOVE it to bits - AND the garage should be big enough to house a supra - I know it's sad but the door is 7ft wide, and internal width is 100" at it's smallest point (pillar on one side), so seeing that the supra is around 72", should give me enough room to park to one side and still be able to get out
  11. EDIT: ignore me - km/miles error lol....
  12. and gotta love the size of most of the images...... magnifying glass anyone???
  13. IMHO - Yes - I can't even get an interview without them. This is exactly why I am doing them. My Masters degree in Computer Engineering (1st/distinction/whatever) doesn't actually seem to put me in any better situation than a 16yr old school leaver, so I'm going down the specific IT qualifications route. Anyway - thanks to ALL who helped me thus far - I passed my first Microsoft exam this morning with flying colours (i think, at least i was well over the pass mark) and I'm already studying for my 2nd exam to complete my MCDST.
  14. I'm flying the one on the left: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUZa__SGJ38 LOL - not (obviously) but it's amazing to watch them chuck these things around in the air! Dad and I are from the old petrol-scale era - I have a couple of planes (inc. a spitfire) and my dad was into his helicopters. Won several times down at Sandown model show, but rarely fly now, if at all. Shame, but with all these restrictions/safety precautions these days, nowhere to fly. Gonna have to go electric me-thinks.

    What Car.....

oh, tough one. Golf - too "ordinary" - the R32 doesn't really stand out anymore - unless you know enough about cars to notice them. Personally, I always think Audi have a touch of "class" that a lot of other marques don't have - Civic's, for example, are just driven by tw*ts - at least down my way.
  16. out of interest, and sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the approximate price difference between the PHR stage 1 and a T67DBB, all inc? (ie to take a std TT and modify with all reqd. components) Thanks
  17. I wrote a whole abusive post about putting a towbar on a supra about 2hrs ago, but deleted it before i posted it because i thought it was too rude. But now i see other people have said similar things - DON'T DO IT!
  18. Out of interest, how long did you guys leave before driving your car again? I think Hammerite is supposed to dry in around 2hrs? (could be wrong) but I wouldn't want to splatter paint around the arch. Sounds strange, but I did my calipers on my current car, left them for 2 days to be safe. But then it was very cold weather at the time.
  19. A bit of a plug for a fellow member of the SEAT club, but I find these "guides" very useful http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/guides.html
  20. yeh - when i found the wonders of clay bar was the start of a slippery slope down the detailing pole! LOL I now have 2 large boxes full of products - ranging from Poorboys Slick-n-suds, through to the Klasse AIO, Optimum car wax and several microfibre and waffle weave towels!!! I haven't gone the whole hog yet though (and trying not to) - not bought the machine polisher yet!

  22. TBH I'm with you on this one - these people on ebay have no common sense, let alone decency. He sounds like a bit of a numpty to say the least. However, I always try not to get in an arguement because it just results in negative feedback and a long drawn out process of trying to remove said feedback after it's happened. But sometimes I suppose it just can't be avoided!
  23. Sod it, I'm going to do a short list anyway.... The following bands came up on last.fm when I searched for bands like Metallica, and suprisingly I like most of them ...... : Mudvayne Lacuna Coil Iron Maiden Megadeath Machinehead Rob Zombie Marylin Manson Soulfly Pantera Disturbed System of a Down Slayer KoRn Sepultura EDIT: Why don't you install Last.fm (http://www.lastfm.com) and type in the band you like the sound of, it'll give you LOADS of ideas for other similar sounding bands/music - just like the above list!
  24. Yeh ditto the above - Metallica S&M was tame IMO. Some of their other stuff is much heavier. I hate all this categorising that goes on anyway - no way could i put a lot of bands into their relevant sections without someone saying I was wrong. I was going to put a long list of bands now, but I've decided against it - too many people would argue LOL
