well finally got my report and stuff today. I have a score of 790 - "Fair". I think I see some problems on my report which should be fixed very soon. Firstly, the electoral role registrations (since we moved 3 weeks ago) don't seem to have registered yet, and also seems that the bank hasn't updated my "linked addresses". Finally - it would appear that the mortgage company have had 5 searches on me for the mortgage I've just taken out - not quite sure why they have so many searches though.... Anyway, it's not as bad as I thought it would be

on the Jap Strat - I'm a little confused as to it's value because it is earlier (and better built too!), not a cheap Mexico/Korea/whatever version, but only 2nd best to the USA guitars. But I don't know if any of the above would have an affect (or effect, i don't know) on the value of it. I think it was sold to me as the same colour as the one Eric Clapton used.

yeh right! artistic my a*se.... lol... TBH the finish on the black Les-Paul style isn't great - it's got a few dings in now because of the ultra-soft paintjob it seems to have. I know what you mean - I built them as projects (didn't cost me TOO much originally) but they're just gathering dust now, and I suppose every penny I get could either go towards 1 really nice guitar, or to my Supra fund

is there something that you may be on ????? If so - I want some! Only joshin mate! lol

Hey all, I'm about to put up some of my guitars for sale (ebay/local papers/mates etc) and with 1 guitar in particular I'm struggling to figure out what it's realistically worth. It's a 1991 Japanese Fender Stratocaster squire, in cream with white pickguard/pickups etc. It's in O.K condition (few dings etc here and there, and a bit of wear on the fretboard) Now, it's not a SQUIRE STRAT, it's a Strat squire. I have no idea what difference this makes, but it's basically an early squire. On the headstock the Fender logo is the biggest, with stratocaster written underneath, and a tiny squire on the end of the headstock. Here's a picture - but please PLEASE ignore the hiddeous pickguard on it! http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j241/godatguitar/Guitars/strat.jpg On a side note - I have 2 custom built guitars that I completed as projects - 1 was an Aria guitar with new paintjob, pickups etc, and another is an unknown brand but nice graphics and coil-tapping ability: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j241/godatguitar/Guitars/lespaul.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j241/godatguitar/Guitars/jackson.jpg They both play, but need setting up as I have no idea how to do it really. Are they worth anything? £50/£60? more? And the strat? £100? Thanks guys/gals - really appreciate it!

I really recommend playing the guitars before buying them - it's amazing how you can love the looks of a guitar, but hate the way it plays. I love the Gibson SG style guitar, but I just hate the way it plays. I currently have a Jap Fender Strat (squire), a cheap Aria Pro semi-acoustic and a couple of others. My Dad loves his Epiphone 335 (Gibson copy) and swears that it plays better than the real thing. Each to their own, but for £500 ish you'll get a lovely guitar - good luck!

Well I've just moved house and got a mortgage, I've also completed the Experian credit report, just waiting for my PIN number to come through the post. When that arrives, I'll see what my rating is. My rating should be very good - I've never had any issues, use credit card regularly and pay it off all the time, so we shall see what they say. Out of interest - did you do the free credit report that Experian are currently offering?

well that flooring I linked to is a bad example I suppose - it's nearly an inch thick foam stuff, which I think may wear very quickly. The other stuff works out much more expensive. I have a large source of carpet tiles at work which I can have, but then I think even though it's hard wearing and short-pile stuff, the water etc that comes off a wet car will rot it soon enough. So looks like I'm down to the self-levelling paint/compound stuff or a large sheet of vinyl to lay over the top.
-
So everyone is pro-paint then, and not the other flooring stuff? E.g This stuff: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GARAGE-WORKSHOP-FLOOR-MATS-UTILITY-ROOM-SHED-IN-OUTDOOR_W0QQitemZ120174320279QQihZ002QQcategoryZ30928QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

ah ok - I was mislead then..... The pvc flooring looks like it could be quite a good solution - I only have a garage in a block right next to my house - and suprisingly 1/2 of the roof has already been insulated and boarded, so was going to tidy the whole place a bit, and finish it off nicely. Already got power in the garage, so got a florescent light installed and will have a heater in there too

Hey All, I'm on t'internet at work, so must be quick. I want to sort out my new garage floor. Currently it's concrete, and very dusty, so dust gets in the car, on the car, and on everything else as well. I was thinking of some of the garage flooring stuff you can get (like a big jigsaw - pvc type stuff) but now been told that there is some garage floor paint that is "self-levelling" meaning that you actually get quite a smooth finish. Anyone use any of this, or have pics? Is it used just like normal paint, or is it much thicker? Cheers peeps

Well we've just moved in today I've just managed to get my 3G Broadband mobile card working (it's not mine though - i got it from work ) so I'm on the net briefly! I've moved to the very edge of Kempshott - basically South West of Basingstoke, just off J7 of the M3. Relatively new development (mid 1980's) Bryant houses - depressing as we're one of the only 2 beds in the area though - everything else is 3+ bedrooms! Nice little cul-de-sac, and the house backs onto fields for miles! (Although been told that these will eventually be built on)

do you always consider resale value when buying stuff for it
Pabs replied to miko_supra's topic in Supra Chat
I haven't even got one yet (but I do have a shopping list of modifications already) but I don't buy cars to sell them on - I buy them to enjoy them. To be honest 99% of cars will depreciate with age, regardless of what you do to it. So why fight it??? -
4438 now HAPPIER. Now I can go finish packing my house

Damn, best I've got is 2143.....

I drive through Hook every day on my way to work - as mentioned above you come off the motoroway and you are in Hook instantly. Not much to it really, but Basingstoke is only 1-2 junctions south on the M3. From my 8 months of research about Basingstoke, a lot of the people who slag it off have not actually ever been or lived there. It used to be terrible (from what I've heard) but getting better. I LOVE the area I'm moving to - it's dead quiet, a matter of minutes from the M3 and Basingstoke center, and the surrounding houses all have something for me to aim for in the future (very nice indeed)
-
still got urges for a nice 911, just not sure on year really. That or a Ford Mustang gt500
-
Hi mate, TBH I'm not 100% familiar with the new area yet. All of this is in my opinion: Hook = nice but expensive Basingstoke - steer clear of more central locations, the following areas I was told to avoid: Popley, Oakridge, Winklebury, Brighton Hill (although some nice roads now) South Ham. Nice areas in Basingstoke = Kempshott, Hatch Warren Don't know anything about Old Basing I'm afraid. Still learning.... From my place (On the very outer edge of the Basingstoke area) it takes just over 5mins to get to J7 of the M3. Hope this helps

Yep - it's happening... I'm moving out from a flat in Southampton into a lovely house in Kempshott, Basingstoke Move out on friday - so as you have probably guessed this will be one of my last times on t'internet for a while - gotta get everything installed and setup in the new place once we're in. I'm surrounded by boxes - and really worried that we won't get it all into the convoy of vehicles we have helping us move - having to drop a few boxes back to parents for the time being - just in case! Hopefully be back online soon TTFN!

Looks like it has a 17" screen...... Check ebay out for similar laptops - it's quite suprising what people pay, even if they do use it purely for parts! I recon you'd get 300 for it if in good condition. Depends how quick you want to sell.
-
You should see some of the machines I'm expected to fix at work. Fair enough, I could with new parts. Trouble is, I'm made to repair them with parts from unrepairable laptops - i.e I have around 25 D600's all with various problems/damage. One of my users has had to make do with a secondhand screen with pressure mark, slightly loose hinges, a keyboard with two "3" keys as the 2 key went missing, and several dents/scratches all over the case. But electrically - the laptops trundle on! SOOOO much better than IBM (I mean Lenovo) machines.... I can only hope HP are similar quality - as we've been told to switch to them now

Yes - every penny we had Complete next fri...... fingers crossed!
