great news to hear the driver is okay,

real shame about the supra but its only metal at the end of the day, it can be replaced the life can not.

I can't even beging to imagen what at crash at those speeds would feel like, hopefully i never get to experiance a crash like that!

!!Hope he is okay , how does a tyre come off the rim was he running drag radials ?

Vijay's all safe and sound resting at home.

It was very unfortunate. Just glad everyone was safe and sound.

The GPS speed was over 220 and still pulling, we will probably know the exact speed once we checked the SD Card.

Tyres were R888's, no idea as to why it came off the rim, but thank God that it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

R888's are only rated up to 186 mph, there's a reason the tyres on a veyron are £6000 each. I'm glad he walked away from this it must have been truly terrifying hopefully he'll have a speedy recovery.

Good stuff. I would guess that the air ambulance would be scrambled as soon as the crash was known about, regardless of driver/passenger condition. Would waste precious time checking to see if they were OK.

Sh*t! Very sorry to hear this. Just glad driver and passenger are ok.

That car was iconic and one of my favourite Sup builds of all time. It was the inspiration for some of the changes I'm making to mine. Glad I got to see it in the flesh when I did at SRD a couple of weeks back. Sad loss for the owner and the UK Supra community :(

Yes they were both airlifted to hospital straight away and as Jamie said both fine

Passenger had a cut on his face that required some specialist treatment so was kept in over night

We were very sad to hear of this on the day, I was only told that the car had crashed and it was bad.

I was thankful to get the news shortly after that they were both ok.

Its hit me pretty hard and does make you think a lot about what can happen if something goes wrong at high speed

A timely reminder just a few days before DB, and thankfully one that only cost metal and money. To all that are going, let's stay safe out there and bring ourselves and the cars back in one piece

Pushing limits like this means any accident is a big one. As someone said above, a real testament to the cage and the quality of the installation.

The car is metal and can always be replaced. A life cannot, glad to hear he's safe and sound if a little shaken up.

I have seen Vijays Supra numerous times at SRD. We were both together on Abbey hub dyno last year with both our cars.

Vijay and his passenger are ok and not hurt badly. That's the most important.

However, it's so frustrating to see how quickly a monster Supra that has been built over months to a perfect spec can be destroyed within seconds.

Running R888's myself, it reminds me to pay attention everytime I push my Supra . The times I was into the 180+ mph region are a lot. A tire failure will always end catastrophic.

A quick recovery to Vijay and his passenger.
