It would have to be in the passenger footwell. One big enough for the 2JZ-GTE is pretty huge. I have one here in the workshop, no way would it go under the bonnet.

as alex has already said he unfortunately had issues with his car cutting out :( hope you get that sorted soon fella.

we also had bek in his brill na mk3:

apologies for the non mk4 content there ;)

my car ran well, the bilsteins despite being softer than expected certainly balanced things up, i definitely think the old kyb's i had on had seen better days! the yellowstuff really helped- initial bite installed confidence, and under load (they never really get warm on a sprint) they performed better than the stock mintex road pads i had on before.

results wise i was last in class! but there was only 2 other drivers- they were in a stock GT86 and the worst driver (or least best i should say!) managed nearly 2.5secs faster than me....... which is a lightyear at a short track (0.9 miles i think it is) like barkston! i need more brave pills :( although i did crack my personal best (first time here in the supra) so i was well chuffed with that :D

really enjoyed it, was great to see the other members, had a superb sunday out :)

as for those accusumps- i want one.

Good stuff Dan, the car looks nice and settled in the pic of you, the Billies are obviously up to the task.

Weight is your biggest enemy, every kilo lost is a fraction of a second gained, there are plenty of kilos to be lost in a stock Supra if you are prepared to live with the consequences!

Amen..

thanks mate :)

i do see the potential in weight loss- even for myself! but I run in street class which dictates all interior trim to be retained. the reason i choose this class for now (aside from cash- very limited budget) is because this class is limited to street tyres- and i want to use street tyres to learn how to drive my soop before progressing onto sticky track day tyres. once i make the shift over to pro (more experience with the car and more money also required) then yes i'll be looking at a fully stripped out jobby :)

as for weight transfer these pics show more of a story:

but is was all very progressive which is what i need to learn RWD with IRS :)

im going to build a new track car soon, im bit bit short of funds for it though so it wont be a supra,.. its ging to be a £200 e36........ but im thinking of a 1uzfe in that light pefectly balanced body

Why not just start with a Soarer, would surely work out much cheaper in the long run?

e36 is an awsome chassis, and light when striped, and ill get the 1 uz in ther for pennies . seriously it will be easy and cheap.

This, I also Co-Own a E36 328 which we are building for a track car.

Chassis are very good, A lot of weight can be saved.

Just by stripping the interior we saved over 50kg's,

We still have to skin the doors, put a carbon roof on, perspex windows, carbon bonnet, plastic rear boot hatch, and nice 12 point weld in cage.

Should make a nice little track car when we are done over winter.

Here is the car after 2 hours of taking delivery :)

Got loads more to do to it :) (all over winter).

Quick Update on my recent track day with the BMWCC at Silverstone.

Well the weather at Silverstone was awful, so much so that it ended up cancelled.

In the morning we had low lying fog and heavy rain, which meant we were delayed in starting, then when the sighting laps were done the rain just got even heavier and the morning session kept getting red flagged due to spins. The decision was then made to close the track early for lunch (11am - 12pm) to see if the rain would ease, however the conditions didnt and Silvertstone deemed it too dangerous to carry on, So unfortunately the day was cancelled.

In a way it was very disappointing but then you have to be safe at these events.

It was clearly way too wet to be safe and if you did go out you wouldnt be enjoying yourself.

Silverstone have been fantastic and offered to re-run the day in november for people that paid and attended at zero charge as there was pretty much zero track time for everyone.

I was sat in the garage all morning (I’m sat in the car).

It was a bit of a waste of petrol and hotel money but at least everyone stayed in one piece :)

I will update when I attend in November.
