I'm sorry but no! The amount of people that have contacted me with simular problems from him is shocking! The best thing I done was get my car out of that place! You really think he would take responsability and admit being liable for bad work manship?! I can imagin it all being stripped, a excuse made, nothin to do with them here's ur bill will be ready in a few months! Harsh u may say but not if you have been through what I have

If I do decide to get this looked at I would consider funding the extra delivery to take it else where!!

Hey dude

i think u will get over £10k if u break it. Easily.

If u really have had enough and cant fix it, i'd just start breaking it up mate and recouping some wedge from it.

Or Try and get it booked in with the likes of SRD, AFR, Paul Whif etc for a proper look at it.

That's the exact ppl I had in mind!

I don't have the space or knowledge to strip so rather it went as one!

Surely a normal garage can do checks to diagnose without tearin the engine out?

You'll probably need to drop the sump, check with a borescope or remove the head to see if there has been any internal damage done. Everything may be fine or it could be a right mess in there, until it's opened up there's no way of knowing

Given the first post description of events and the solaris's reaction to low/zero oil pressure then isn't it more likely the engine is ok and that the fitment of an new oil pump will fix it?

Depending on the reason for failure afaik this is still the unknown? part failure, incorrect fitment or impact from something?

yea but i recon the engine is fine obv not sure with out inspection! i was asked how it sounded if i cranked it, and it sounded fine

this is what i mean, take every thing out of my engine to save money and stick it on some one elses and have 600bhp!

Lee, you will have to invest a little more in the car to get the full value potential back, selling a broken car will give you such a low return, there is a risk in that the tuner tells you the engine is shot but the gain is it could be a quick fix, then you can repair it and sell for a much better price

I would not break it or sell broken if it was me :)

i dont have cash thats the prob! ive racked up 5k of debt now from all the problems ect and its got to the point where im like its got to stop!

the only reason i have 10k figure in my head as i found a nice m3! ive lost a lot of money with this car so its always been a downer for me so a little more wont hurt if i can get a nice different car at the end of it thats more reliable, cheaper to run and more practical!

as u may b able to tell im sick to the back teeth of this car!

EDIT - during the build from missing parts, long delay, on my 4th ecu :)

if i do repair im looking at a min of 200 to get the car to any of the garages on here, then a couple days labour to get engine out, then labour to check, then new pump and then labour to get it all in! its looking like 1k if its that straight forward, i cant run up any more debt! lol

What for? Taking to a garage or inspection? I only have breakdown cover through my insurance

Push it up the road and get them to relay it to a garage, it will have to go to a specialist as its so much a one off, then take it to the garage of your choice, if you are determined to sell it im sure you can arange with the garage to pay when its sold, even if this costs a little extra, or leave it with them to fix and sell and returm you XXX amount, or maybe if they are doing that they will pick up the car for free!!!!;)
