  1. Just re-read the thread, obviously you do have a boost guage, and if you sustained 22 psi for any length of time, you may easily have melted something serious. If it was just a spike, you should be OK.
  2. Do you have a boost gauge? My guess is almost certainly a hose popped off as the MAP sensor is now seeing no vacuum, it's adding fuel as if you were at 0 boost. Relax and go check your hoses

  7. Matt's business partner Ian used to have an F250 truck-a massive great thing. It's so long it won't fit in a normal car space, so he used to park in two spaces (one in front of the other) and buy two parking tickets. Even though he paid for both spaces he was fined so many times. I do remember him telling us he was going to go to court over one that was £60 but I never found out what happened. There is a multi-storey where we used to live that has a warning sign at the entrance stating that you will have to pay a fine before you leave if you park over the white lines. Chantelle
  8. Daman, do we need tickets to get in on the day?
  9. Personally, I think this is quite a bargain. I know this car as we've had it at the workshop to fit an alarm system and the obligatory fog light. It was imported from Japan as it is. Yes, it is running 440's with a pair of additionals, but it's also barely using the bloody great T78 as it's only set up to run 1.1 bar, (Hence why it made less power than Burts). It's a ready done genuine Greddy T78 full kit. All it needs is the fuelling sorting out and it'll go like stink. Anyone that's done a single before will know how much time, effort and cost is involved. Hence why IMHO it's a bargain.
  10. I've no direct relation to famous people, but I have had three celebrity encounters. The first was when I was fifteen. A friend of mine was heavily into Gary Numan. He knew what village he lived in, so we went for a drive there. We stopped at a local newsagent and my friend went in and managed to persuade the newsagent to get his newspaper delivery records out, on the claim that his cousins name was Webster and that he couldn't remember what road he lived in, and find Gary Webbs actual address. (Gary Numans real name). We knocked on his door and after a few uncomfortable minutes, he became more friendly and talkative and gave us an autograph written on a page he tore from a pad he was writing songs on. With hindsight, it was very unfair of us to do that, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. The second was bumping into Cheryl Baker on the Blackpool Pleasure beach whilst a few friends and I were on a holiday there. A couple of years later at work, we sold a mobile phone to Rita Crudgington, (Cheryl Baker), who later tried to make a warranty claim on the phone not working which was found to have lots of white sticky stuff inside it! Lastly, one of my uncles died a few years back. One of his sons used to be a Radio Caroline DJ, (Pirate radio station in the 70's for all you young kiddies!). As such he has a fair few celebrity friends. One of which sat next to me at the funeral. Jules Holland.
  11. Plus, unless Jurgen has recently become a charity, I'm fairly sure he'd like to make a little bit of money for himself!
  12. I'm fairly sure it's a marketing/spam type site, but I did enter the details of a known Cat D car, and that did show up as a issue. Not that it told you what the issue was... It then goes on to give an 098*** number to call for more info. So at least it kinda does what it's supposed to.
  13. Gaz, if you want to pop down to sunny Kent, I'm happy to make any adjustments for you. Alternatively, I can lend you the lead. I can give it to the guy that lives opposite me, to give to you. So long as I can get it back before next weekend, (16th).
  14. I've cut my ones off. No bridging, no resistors, just cut off. I also cut off the ones on a VVTi with no problems to date... Although it was only the rear ones on the VVTi that were cut off. I didn't want loads of extra plugs cluttering things up. If you're likely to go AEM, I can see why you'd want to keep them, but I bet they'll never exit where you want them too!
  15. Chop 'em off Suprising how much crap you can remove when going single.
  16. Daman, I've paid £16 by bank transfer for me and my son to attend on the Sunday. Should show up in your bank on Wednesday or Thursday.

    Gauges

Boost and AFR are the only ones I wouldn't like to be without.
  18. Power Enterprise 800's are brown. I agree with Tony, there is no standard colouring. You need to find out what make they are or get them flow tested.
  19. Mines a late 1993/early 1994 JDM, and the ignitor pack is part number 89621-22020.
  20. If it's still got the auto diff, it should accelerate well! - If you can get traction!
  21. I read the Banzai review too. That seemed 'scientific' enough for me. All done on a highly modified 200sx turbo'd engine using ignition advance as the key to the test. Strangely, that review came out with Tesco 99 being only slightly better than 95, and Optimax was a clear winner Maybe the fuel companies 'sponsor' some 'independent' tests ?
  22. IMO you have to give either a good looking over. Whether it's a stocker or modified. Judge each car on it's own merits, (or downfalls). Personally, if I was staring again, I'd look for a pre-modified one. Sure, I'm sure I'd change a few bits to my personally preference, and maybe alter a few bits that maybe could be better. Ultimately, you 'can' save yourself a small fortune and a lot of hassle by buying a pre-modified one. Especially if you pay someone else to do the work as there is a huge amount of labour that goes into a decent single conversion.
  23. 2B is exacly what is printed in the failure sheet b. a silencer in such condition, or of such a type, that the noise emitted from the vehicle is clearly unreasonably above the level expected from a similar vehicle with a silencer in average condition. They did say they would normall have adjusted the headlight aim, but seeing as it failed anyway, they didn't! Doubt I'll be using them again
