  1. Don't get me wrong, RLTC is not an 'excuse' to loon around, and learning how a RWD car handles should be the first thing anyone, anyone who intends pushing the car, should learn to do as a minimum.
  2. Sorry Darryl, but I disagree with you a bit there. There are a lot of proffession racing drivers that use a traction control system. A well set-up RLTC doesn't have to be intrusive. Just enough to assist you when on the car is on the edge. Just my humble opinion obviously
  3. Mig can be a bit of a hero sometimes Saved me on many occasions! Glad to hear it's nothing too serious. You've had you're fair share of bad luck so far!
  4. I'm really not sure Lambo doors would help. Aside from being friggin' aweful, they still open out a tad, but you have very little control on them once they're going up, and in a confined space, they'd be even more of a bitch to get out of than normal!
  5. The temp gauge on a Supra is notoriously unreliable. They only start going up when there's something seriously wrong! I would guess that either, as you say, the thermostat has been removed so it never quite gets up to 'normal' temperature, or a lazy gauge, or maybe the needle has been removed and re-fitted incorrectly in the past.
  6. I have about 2 inches either side of each mirror if I get it right. I usually aim closer to the drivers side and pull in the drivers mirror, then, once in, I park at a slight angle to give me a little more door opening space. I also have Clifford Smart Windows which allows me to open and close the windows by remote. Slithering in and out of the car with the window open is far easier. Even for a skinny git like me!
  7. I want an appology for the time I spent wandering around Elvington looking for you, getting sent on wild goose chases, and not answering your phone! Errr, Oh, I get it!
  8. Assuming they're stock UK 550's. they will physically fit stright in, but you'll also need to get a resistor pack to make them work properly, and some kind of fuel controller to stop them overfuelling the car. Will they make a difference? - Not to power really, but if you're running high boost, they should make the safety margin better.
  9. The trouble with you white guys is that you all look the same! - (Huggy Bear, Starsky & Hutch) Just been watching an old episode of Starsky and Hutch, and this line came up between all the ad-breaks. Couldn't resist!
  10. I've got one too. Very well detailed. Buy it if you get the chance!
  11. The Sixties weren't good to you, were they... (Cars)
  12. Ahhh, and I've just found a mini brithday cake, (Lightning McQueen!) and a card from my little girl, Dana...
  13. You don't think I actually WANT to get any older do you? Happy birthday to you guys too!
  14. Its a deal, it's a steal, its the sale of the fucking century! (Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels) Sorry, lost count of what number this is up too
  15. Monkey shit sandwiches! Peanut-butter
  16. My auto used to average 220-250 for a tank full with varied/enjoyable driving, whereas the manual returns roughly 250-290 with the same style driving. If I'm very careful and light on the throttle I can easily get over 300, and the best I've ever seen is about 370 from a tankfull.
  17. Great night out as always. The stories were great. If ever we get sent to war, I'm gonna be behind Stu and Chris... Cos' sod being in front of 'em!
  18. Wow, so if I contact you before 5ish this afternoon, you can tell me how my birthday is going to end! Who said time travel isn't possible
  19. Thanks guys! Sadly, I've got to work today
  20. Just say it's coming down here to have the MOT sorted. I'll book one if necessary... /then cancel it/cough.... The indicators do work, they just flash fast and there's no side repeaters yet...
  21. Well, I've owned both, and I could easily get better economy from the manual. I think once you start 'playing' with auto's, you start to loose the economy as you tend to be in lower gears so that they don't get away so easily. Where as Auto drivers can poodle along quite economically, then just floor it and the car does the rest of the work and shoots off!
  22. I did it on Bens car a while back, and it's not as easy as you might think. FTO's are simple, they're just a quick negative pulse and their realys do it for you, but the Supra works via reverse polarity, and needs timing in each direction. Nice gimmick, but not worth the hastle IMHO.
  23. I do too, but I'm so lazy, moving the mouse is such an effort!
