Then next day ..car won't start! Put a battery pack on it, will crank and crank and crank then maybe start. This happened for about 5 or 6 starts over a week or two, then it just wouldn't start.. unless it was jump leads from another running car. At the battery while running there was only 11.7 or maybe 12v, but that didn't make sense as it had the SRD 170amp big boy alternator and it just had a new battery So today I jump started again and did this: It increased immediately to 13.8v! So I went to Halfords and got a battery/earth lead for £6, hooked it up from the battery to the block, cleaned up all the grounds, sprayed electrical contact cleaner on the alternator plug and voila, 14.2v

So all was sorted in time for the Banzai Rally Christmas meet at Caffeine and Machine! Great day out, so many nice cars...

A few weeks back my clutch pedal decided to stick to the floor after I'd reversed out the driveway.. something was wrong clearly so pushed it back in the driveway and the fluid was leaking out, the braided clutch line had split! Wet weekends and being dark before I got back from work, this took 3 weeks to sort out . Local hose shops couldn't help or kept giving me fixed fittings instead of swivel and damaged olives. The original adapter fittings were extremely tight, it was a ballache and unnecessary. So after many hours of research I realised I needed a 90degree 3/8-24 to a M10x1 for the the Wilwood master cylinder to the BMW slave directly (usually BMW have a plastic line coming off it with a C-clip connection), custom one ordered from HEL, some bleeding and all was good again! See how the HEL one is so much nicer from the original!

Had a fantastic 4 days on the Banzai Rally, car didn't miss a beat, was happy cruising around town or blasting for hours between stops!

Not too much to update since last time, just been enjoying the car! Banzai Rally was upcoming so got the car in the spray shop to sort the faded carbon bonnet and rear spat, so dropped off to GLPaintworks aka Supra Joe!

Ooo so they gearbox swap did get completed! How is it?

I would use Mike's shopping list, that's near enough my setup and they mapped it last December on a Link G4, Borg S364 but forged engine with VVTi and 264 cams, made 616whp at 1.6bar and nothings blown up yet

Fitting Borgwarner turbo with xs power manifold na-t
AC93 replied to ballsdeep's topic in Supra Chat
The S362 can make 500hp at 1 bar, I have a S364 and love it, Borg Warner has given me zero issues and would upgrade to a 66/69 at some point What power are you making now? I think going past 440 the torque is gonna shred the W58.. -
Get a new one from SRD or Keron, takes 5mins to swap out
-
Get a compression/leak down test done Also, find out where it's leaking from, it could.be something relatively simple/cheap if it's just had an oil change
-
Hi all, After a set of headlights, let me know what you have. Thanks,

I had a 2009 X5 for 6 months last year, they are very practical, massive boot, plenty of space inside and averaged 25ish mpg with the 3.0d. Mine wasn't an M-Sport so had a square 19" set up, reverse camera, heated seats, side steps and the ride was good and looked smart. I looked at a few, there are some dogs around as they've depreciated for people who can buy them but not maintain them! I liked driving it but the rear air suspension needed doing (compressor and 2 bags), cost me £750. Make sure the gearbox has had a service too, diffs/box oil service was around £4/500 iirc (owned mine from 91-97k miles). To drive it was a typical BMW, but it had no lo/hi range for the box or diff locks or different driving modes so in that sense it wasn't a serious 4x4 like my previous Range Rover. Also the washer bottle can crack leaving a little puddle and it's a wheel arch liner and few pipes off job! Given the choice again I'd get an estate ...which conveniently after a few other cars I now have. A4 Quattrooo estate

I've had that before on a Goodyear F1 tyre that was a few hundred miles old, 255/40/17. I was tanking it tho, 120"kph" and rear driver side blew on a country road. Car was going sideways left and right, luckily I held it, honestly thought I was gonna die or atleast end up in an operating room. Whatever caused the puncture was just bad enough to rip the tyre up at speed identical to yours.

Got a Walton manifold, Garrett turbo and wastegate going for sale this weekend, all new never used
-
Told you it would be worth trailering it to SRD , glad to see it's all running now
-
I've got a GE reservoir for sale, or you after one from a GTE?
-
As above, if your sticking to 400/450bhp then you'll probably get away with a cheaper manifold. I have a Walton manifold and it was a piece of crap to fit, sat too high and had to be modified, now sits a bit further back than ideal and the 4" DP is as tight as anything. But it all works and makes the power. With a 50mm WG and S364 I can't go any bigger without some kind of boost creep on low boost/1bar, but the goal was 700 and that's I built it for from the off by having it forged, VVTi, cams etc. If you plan to go bigger power later, save up and do it once. If I was doing it again I would buy the SRD manifold.. and I will have to when I go for bigger power (the hassle with Walton meant it actually cost more overall!)

I would have said upto £35k? considering to get an equivalent imported

I had a MK2 ST3 5 door for a couple years, that 2.5T engine is amazing, you will love it. Mine had the RS clutch and was a stage 1. Absolute torque monster and was great to drive, would tag along with 996 911 Carreras all day long. I was doing a 250/300 miles a week and it never gave me a problem, never broke down once! ! The Recaro seats are really comfortable (heated as standard with the ST-3), big boot and wasn't ever uncomfortable for me and my bad back! Good on the motorway and B roads, the handling was impressive, one of the best FWD cars I've owned. But it's a really good cruiser too! I'd recommend one but just look at plenty before committing, I had mine back in 2013 when they weren't cheap enough yet for chavs. There are many rough ones around now. Make sure the cambelts been done, clutch after 80k - preferably upgraded to the RS, oil filter housing (diaphragm fails). If it's been mapped then check for the block mod otherwise the liners will go and it's bye bye engine. They're easily enough to service and parts are cheap, just a Focus with an extra spark plug! Absolutely tanking it once.the trip said 1.8 MPG average, motorway cruise best I had was 35 MPG ..long term average was 26.6mpg on Tesco 99

Eagle F1's are pretty good, I've had them for years on my daily and the Supra. Got a good deal on Michelin PS4's last year and in the wet (accelerating and braking) they were a noticeably better than the GY's. But in the dry it's marginal, both are good when warm and they hook, F1's were more comfortable and quieter. I've had consistent results across various 18" tyre sizes 225/235/245/255/275 and 285
