  1. Also spoke to Carbotech today and the guy was super helpful and chatty on the phone, he said if I don't want loud brake pads then don't get Carbotechs unless I'm tracking it or happy with the noise So I think Ferodo pads will be better as a fast road pad, I can deal with the dust but not sure about chalkboard screeching 80% of the time!
  2. Thanks, I'm gonna stick with OEM TT springs for now (when they finally go on!) If there's room for lowering then I'll imvest in the Eibachs
  3. SRD and TCB can supply these brand new I believe
  4. I got the AC compressor off today, wasn't as simple as I planned! Because of my boost pipe route and the FFIM it's not the easiest lot of bolts to access, luckily my slim hands could reach in the small gaps with the BOV off. 3 front bolts, 1 side stud and then another long rear bottom bolt, 2 nuts for the AC lines and 1 electrical plug. Then it fell off and was on the undertray There was no way it was coming out from above with the fan shroud on and the boost pipe there, so raised the car on the front tow hook a tad and undone the front undertray bolts and she slid out! Pulley was very much seized up!
  5. Yeh gonna take it off today and then just wait for the new one to turn up! In other news my Ksports are here!! Calipers look huuugeeeee. 8 pot 356mm fronts and 4 pot 330mm rears, Carbotech XP8 pads are on order
  6. My HVAC had no power since a couple days after mapping, turned out it was just a fuse! Changed that last weekend then decided to take the car to work today.. got 5 mins down the road and my engine sounded like a paper shredder Then it went back to normal, then I pulled in to the petrol station and had no power steering. So I looked under the bonnet and could see much, then the noise started again and started smoking horribly! Turned it off and had another look ..my AC compressor has seized and the clutch assembly had shredded apart, mmmm burnt rubber. So may take the hit and pay a few hundred quid for a new one, then get the AC system all charged up ready for summer! Nursed it home and it didn't make a noise or start to smell again, drove perfectly fine. But didn't wanna risk it!
  7. Wowza, that's gonna be a big horsepower engine when it's mapped!
  8. Nope, this is why I always stand there and wait the 45 mins it takes for my MoT. Unless there's an underlying problem I can't see why they're driving it
  9. ATF fluid sold Open to offers on remaining bits!
  10. Difference in design or wiring?

    2021 What tyres?

Noooo 285 looks bang on! 35 profile on 285 is 99.75mm, stock TT wheels 255/40/17 = 102mm -- 275 could be a last resort I've seen people on here run 295's on a 10J wheel, i.e. Whiffin and I think Lux with TTE wheels I'm also 700+hp but on low boost/500whp it would happily spin up on cold-ish tyres or when the roads were cold. I suppose getting my car back at Christmas and the cold weather we've had has exploited this. Last Saturday it was nice and dry and hooked up perfectly once there was some heat in the tyres.

    2021 What tyres?

Aye, I meant they're not available in 285/35

    2021 What tyres?

Thanks people, I wouldn't think twice about getting PS4s but unfortunately not available in that size! Only PSS or PS3 as above Choices are much wider if I go down to 275/35 but I'm not sacrificing grip, need as much as I can get
  14. Hi guys, I need a new set of rear tyres after arch scrubbing at high speed ruined my Goodyear Eagle F1's 285/35/18. I found the F1's great, hooked nicely when warm at 700hp, what other tyres do people recommend that they have experience with? Falken, Hankook etc? Car is used on road only and does get up to speed.. no track days or Santa Pod 1/4 miles I have the below selection to choose from on Camskill Thanks, A.C.

  16. I'll have a go for you tomorrow on my work PC if someone else hasn't already by then
  17. Yeh I paid £250 for my engine too! TT VVTi setup would be cool, but I think the exhausts manifolds are different between GE/GTE so might need some custom fabrication there Sound deadening was a good move, it's so much nicer to drive! ..and at 70mph on the motorway it's perfectly comfortable with little NVH.
  18. Yeh it tanked hard today .. good job I'm here for the long term!
  19. Front and rear badge are slightly different in size
  20. Yeh 130 is high I was out in my RS4 on Saturday and that got to 97-100 degrees on the dash display so I guess that's normal. I'm still running the factory modine oil cooler, should be fine but will upgrade if needs be!
