  1. i have heard of this "mod" myself but could never be bothered to dig deeper, i would be sceptical of any "gains" and would like to here the rational behind the "mod", looking at my spare block in the garage i would say the only thing you could do is clean up the casting roughness to improove flow but Mr T knows a thing about building engines so i think i'll give him the benefit of the doubt
  2. Yep totally, that looks very good and a proper exhaust cutout, sweet tap dancing jesus that will be loud mate
  3. Dan Is the exhaust valve a total closure one like the QTP ones, i realise this is not the 3" one you got off me but it does look similar, i would be very carefull with an exhaust cut out type as i really dont think it would do the engine much good having the exhaust blocked 100%, on the 3" one you got from me i copied the Apexi valve and had the body machined out to leave (from memory) a 2mm gap between the butterfly and the body so the exhaust was always partially open, in hindsight i think i would have done some maths and drilled an appropriate sized hole in the butterfly, sorry if you already know all this. I used the 76mm Apexi on the 4" BL exhaust, it did take the "crack" off the exhaust but alas it still didn't agree with me (or my neighbours)
  4. great read Chris, couple of things that caught my eye, a hydraulic powered cooling fan and what were they talking about when discussing suspension with a 4 poster rig
  5. wooa there fella, i could just about 100% guarantee if any normal decent parents had brought these two boys up this story would never have happened, to me the real guilty parties here are not the boys but their pathetic miserable excuse for parents, the mother should be sterilised and the father castrated
  6. if Carlsberg did Supras.................................
  7. they shift quicker than a quick thing thats just taken some speed , hence the ability to run 9 second quarters (with enough power of course )
  8. mines got nearly 30k miles on it, one of the best mods i made to the car along with the PI 3200 converter, however IMO Boostlogic do (or did) have some quality control issues with the box rebuilder so they can go wrong usually early on, do a search on Supra forums (USA)
  9. if you fit these chavtastic lights mate, heres a tip, dont post up the results on here as you will get slaughtered, and i'm afraid to say rightly so
  10. dont be silly there nothing like speed holes , you need a pic axe and Homer Simpson to make proper speed holes:d
  11. T78 with only 500hp bet it drives well
  12. i think in this one statement lies a lot of your problems mate, maybe not setting the sights quite as high and building up to this figure you seem to have set yourself would have made for a smoother path, but fair play for trying and maybe 2010 will bring some better luck
  13. Holy stump puller Batman, am i reading this correct Eric, 1500 ft lbs of torque
  14. hmmm not keen at all on the blue inset on the spokes, perhaps its my age
  15. dont get to down on autos, some of us cant drive anything else for different reasons like missing body parts and bike smashed knees , i'm 45 and wear slippers, oh and i drive a 500 hp Supra that rips 99% of cars up for ar*e paper despite its gearbox, most of them manuals i may add
  16. quite obviously not , point taken , however reading the title makes me think it was even more pointless posting it
  17. makes you wonder why they bothered to post up on Youtube, its embarrasing
  18. i had mine at kwik fit to get the air con done a couple of summers ago and when the bonnet came up the young lad looked interested and asked is it a single turbo, then asked what power it ran, i replied 500hp, to which the young lad looked disapointed and pulled a face "oh is that all i thought it was a piece of p*ss to get these to a 1000hp", the conversation pretty much ended there
  19. the LFA looked great but i think from expecting a Mk5 Supra the dream is pretty much over and i seriously doubt Toyota will ever produce a Supra replacement, the LFA shares as much lineage with the Supra as a Yaris
  20. great stuff Dan, real world testing is the definative answer and really looking forward to the results as this is something that has interested me for quiet a while
  21. my knowledge of crankcase vacuum is a bit sketchy but from what i have read the exhaust extraction type can provide a whopping amount of vacuum (which you seem to have under control) but at lower rpm where blow-by/ring sealing can be poor it really doesnt produce much vacuum at all, in effect the exhaust vacuum at high engine speeds performs like a super WOT intake breather, my concerns are the low speeds where you will not have the PCV to deal with excess gas - does this matter ? or is this low speed gas more of an emmisions issue
  22. out of interest who modded the turbo for water cooling, oh and free bump
  23. I love RLTC , when used properly it can make an average driver look good and good driver look brilliant, lets be honest guys we aren't all driving gods and i will be the first to admit i only really learnt to slide a car properly with the confidence that RLTC brings. As for "real men dont use it", from a standing start i have a built auto, hi stall, good tyres, 500hp and RLTC which means i have beat every single car off the mark i have come up against, some may say wheres the skill in that, but i would rather win every time than get beat "driving like a man" to some smirking A hole in his BM, Merc, Porker (all of which have a far more sophisticated traction control system). To me RLTC is just another tuning mod such as UK spec brakes and worth every penny
