  1. the bell, disc combination can be whatever you want them to be, either bolted or floating, the float comes from the drive bobbin and the disc not the bell, if your buying aftermarket discs (AP etc) the key measurements are the disc diameter, thickness and the depth of the pad
  2. on an NA considerably less as you could just put filters on the bodies and dont need a plenum (unless you went for the outboard injectors )
  3. been absolutely bogged down with house modifications but funnily enough just got the bell mouth and stub pipes ready for the welder tonight, then i need to get cracking on the plenum, i will need to get a guy at work to do the cad drawing then get the ally water jet cut nice one fella, the more research i have done on the ITB's the more i am amazed no one has done it on an NA, i guess the turbo option makes it to easy for those wanting more power, if i were doing it on an NA i would go wild and fit outboard injectors (F1 stylee) my only concern with the guy on SF would be the length of the runners if he isn't carefull he is going to be touching the suspension tower before he even thinks about an air filter Question ~ does anyone have experience of lengthening/chopping the engine loom, the TPS is fine as i need to make that a bit shorter but would any of the other sensors get upset if i chopped and lengthened the wiring
  4. hope you remembered the loctite on the cam cover screws Dan
  5. seemed like quite a normal mix really, surprised to see quite a lot of more "mature" fans but when you think they have been going for 21 years i suppose thats not surprising, quite a few very hot young things in skimpy halloween fancy dress as well
  6. no, they didn't do that (thankfully)
  7. sounds a bit gross, not being an aficionado of Greenday, what is it
  8. anyone else see them last night at M.E.N, not a massive fan but the daughter loves them so got talked into taking her , wow they were pretty damm good and must have been on stage nearly two and half hours, well worth a look at
  9. cheers Dude, sounds like you were running a tad more than 600hp , i may fit one just to be on the safe side
  10. any pics without all the special effects mate, call me old fashioned but i prefer pics eau naturelle
  11. nice to see someones paying attention
  12. dont bother with the 12v mod, waste of time and potentially dangerous, i have run a Walbro on standard wiring for 7 years
  13. me to , IMHO this is, or the stock filter, the only filter you should use, sit them side by side with other well known brands of filters and you will see the difference in quality, quote the above part number and any Toyota dealer can get them
  14. these are some pics i took for another member on here. Cobra subframes, not a fantastic fit (but they may have soughted that now) they are not expensive but quite heavy until i got the hacksaw and drill to them
  15. i have run a SAFC at 500hp now for nearly 4 years, still going strong, but i think this is as high a power level you could run, they do a good job where you can rely on the stock map for much of the fueling and a guy in states has even run 10's with an SAFC , they are cheap as chips but as a piggy back largely superseeded by the Emanage
  16. might be worth contacting Ryan at 2bar tuning i think he was talking about piggy backing a Solaris with an auto box
  17. i have posted it before but it seems worthy of mention here, i contacted two very well known turbo re-builders in this country, one refused point blank to have anything to do with Precision turbos and the other was more forthcoming, they would not re-build Precision turbos due to the low quality (their words) of the turbo materials and construction, in the past they had many warranty claims on Precision units they re-built, so they took the decision to no longer re-build them
  18. Well i have bit my tongue long enough and listened to the usuall 10k trotted out by people who still have a TT , i dont think anyone on this thread has mentioned the cost really depends on what kind of power you want, 500hp is very easily achieved at way way under the figures bandied about however 600hp + is going to be up in the 10k region. There are items you really need to spend good money on such as the turbo (around 1k for a 500-550hp) but there are others where you can save, is a £1500 tubular manifold with the potential to make 800+ hp really necesary, the answer is no if you dont intend going over 600hp and it really makes me laugh when people spend this kind of money then only run 550hp when a £300 cast manifold would have given them a torque curve to die for (yes i know "future proofing" ). Do you need the latest whizz bang ECU with a total cost of around 2k to run 500hp, the answer again is no, at this power level your still using most of the silky smooth stock ecu and a piggy back is more than adequate. Granted you will need to ensure all your ancillaries are in good nic (including rad, brakes, suspension, tyres). The other big saving could be labour, if you know which end of a spanner is which fitting a single turbo system really isn't rocket science , and there is more than enough info on this forum to help out the "garden shed" mechanic. So my point is it all depends what power you want and believe me 500- 550hp is pretty damm quick and quicker than 99% of cars on the road.
  19. according to the SAFC manual the 2JZ-GE is wired the same as the GTE, the only thing i can see that Apexi stress in the manual is the black and brown ground wires, the brown must be connected closest to the ecu and the black must be a least a cm away connected to the same wire off pin 69, from memory mine was about 4 cm away, do you have anything else connected to the 12v feed off pin 31, if yes it may be an idea to disconect it
  20. i really hope this is genuine as Bolarbag died a while back, if its not your stay on this forum will be a short one
  21. thats him, what a legend and it wasn't a garage it was more of a polythene lean too IIRC
