  1. drown everything in penertrating oil 24 hours prior to removal and then get the allignment/camber etc checked by a garage
  2. you could allways get one of them in car adjustable baffle jobbys in it from apexi look on http://www.takakaira.co.jp for full spec it should quieten things down while your cruising past plod whether it quietens it down enough i dont know but there not to expensive so it could be worth a go, i would say you would get away with 2 1/2 at the back where the gas is cooling and contracting but at the turbo end you would want 3" if your going for max power imho
  3. yep part number 90915-20004 about £9, the toyota garage near me do stock these but some don't but will order them special paul m
  4. yer i've just fitted a set as well, money very well spent , an added bonus since i have owned the car it has allways clunked and rattled on the front end particularly when turning sharp left but now with the new brakes its all gone, it must have been worn out calipers
  5. i was allways under the impression the box under the seat was an arial amp for mobile phone ! but i could be wrong
  6. cheers for the responce, i think that sounds like a big enough problem to give these a miss
  7. seen these on't ebay and was wondering if they would be allright, purely from a bling point of view as i don't believe for one minute they would give 12 bhp, can anyone see a problem? he seems to have quite a few sets as he's been knocking em out for a while http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2480797455&category=38656
  8. just got back from said and was utterly amazed to find the Shell garages selling something called "V-power racing 99+" with a big picture of Herr Shumacher on it, i am presuming this is octane rating, for about 65p a litre, if so its a disgrace, and i'me preparing to write to my MP as we speak, it must be so they can make the most of all their fast motors, which were as follows~ 1 merc (amg ?) 2 bmw (m series) 1 911 porka 1 scooby 2 s13 200 sx and it was'nt like i was in the sticks all the time the porka was seen in thessalonika, i did momentarily think of moving to Greece to take advantage of the higher ron rating but then decided any performance boost would be negated by A) their worn out roads being like glass and the resultant loss off traction. B) the heat C) mopeds driven by idiot tourists getting in the way On a more brighter note i wish i'de taken the digi camera to post some of the automotive fashion faux par's, highlights including several cars with stuck on bonnet vents (just a sticker, totally non-functional) one of which the stickers were totally pissed, a boot spoiler held on with wood screws (one screw would'nt go in properly so looked like it had been hammered over), but the best was an red opal manta fitted with a body kit and various bits and bobs from his mums kitchen cupboard that looked like a cross between knight rider and thunderbird 4, the poor car looked like it wanted to be put out of its misery but the George Michael look- alike driving it thought he was the dogs, perhaps we could start a gallery for these kind of car crimes, lastly the airbus A320 could'nt half accelerate wonder what the 0-100 on one of them things is, power to weight must be impresive

Originally posted by adi-mkiii Like i say, there are alternatives to T-IV which match or exceed its properties.. one i think made by amsoil? not sure. i had some auto box issues, where the box was overfilled by some local "experts" so i decided to bite the bullet and take it to an auto box specialist some miles away (preston), and i'me glad i did, these guys did auto box servicing and repairs and that was it not even manual boxs, i was worried about the type 4 fluid but the guy there knew exactly what i was talking about and said he could get it but it was expensive, or put an equivalent in that was about half the price, in his words there was no big mystery about the fluid or the box, toyota have'nt reinvented the auto box and its just standard practice that car manufactures want you to buy their stuff as opposed to blogs brand, my advice if in doubt take it to a reputable specialist, who are pulling the things apart on a daily basis as they know what they are talking about.
  10. SEB top reply, i laughed so much i nearly fell off my chair !
  11. on the subject of the lexus filters, i've been using these for ages but recently could'nt be arsed with the 30 mile drive to go and stock up on em so got a halfords i checked the oil a few days later and it was black whereas the oil using the lexus filters is still pretty clean about a month later,so they must be doin something right, when you compare the filters side by side the lexus is quality and the halfords is £4, no contest, i've also got a mate who found some metal swarf actually in the top of a halfords !, i would'nt touch em with a barge poll
  12. are those pace cores by any chance ?
  13. go to the hks site i can't remember off hand whether its the usa or european but one of em has everything on it
  14. thanks termy yer your right about garages not knowing how to check the fluid in the end up i did it myself, the cars going into a auto transmission specialist on monday, who are going to do a service on it, sump cover off, line pressures, leaks, solenoids (i got lost after that) he seemed quite positive and did'nt think it was quite the end of the box (yet) i'll post any findings
  15. you may want to check you fluid level, when i first got the soop i had a local garage change all fluids and after a month or so it started to "thud" quite dramatically especially going from reverse to drive, i then found out via the site how to check the level corectly and found the garage had overfilled by about a litre and a half, i drained the excess and changed the rest for the pukka toyo fluid and it sorted it, however it has started to do it again and i can also feel it thuding a bit when it changes down sometimes so i'me wondering if the overfill has damaged it - beware Paul M
  16. sorry, wheres my manners, welcome to the wonderfull world of the twin turbo supra, where abouts in Lancs are you ? us northern boys have to stick together !
  17. i,de say this is just moisture condensing on the filler cap, they all do it in the winter months especially where short journeys are concerned take it for a good thrash and it will go, your worrying to much, if its using no coolant or oil theres nowt wrong
  18. Have a rummage round your local scrap yard, i found a nice small one that fits between the battery and the wing (next to the washwipe fill up) i think it came off a Rover, cheap as chips, its great fun you can smash stuff up and rip stuff to pieces and no one cares.
  19. I think it was me, call me the sump plug guru- plug 90341-12012 @ £2.28 gasket 90430-12031 @ £0.76 Paul M
