  1. Signed and passed on to all my mates serving and ex like me. Unfortunately i have spent time in the Queen Elizabeth in Birmingham due to injuries sustained whilst serving in Iraq in 2004. I could not go to selly oak as there was not enough room for me, whilst in there i was subjected to verbal abuse by the staff that worked there, which i found to be very unpleasant, so a dedicated hospital where the staff are vetted would be great for our lads and lasses. richie
  2. For me its the cobra oh and elenor!!! Richie
  3. I have had a nokia 6500 slide now for about 3 weeks, and i am really happy with it, i can make and receive calls and text messages too!! its got a 3.2mega pixil camera which seams fine to me. battery life is good, i am happy with it . richie
  4. This is going to sound sad but exercise! normally do something every day at the mo! (run, bike, swim or a body pump class) richie

  7. Has anyone been sent the picture via email that the imprint of a women is on the bonnet? i think its on a blue american car, i got sent it ages ago but cant find it, it was even posted on here i think. All you can see is her hand prints and some other body parts:d if it has to be posted in NWS i'll look in there but i dont it has. would be great full if anyone has it or where i can find it, and dont worry its nothing to do with any other thread! richie
  8. no thats it in the picture, as is! they come as a very highly rated bike within the tri circles, but a standard set up like that comes with the carbon wheels, aero bars shimano ultegra groupset, which is one down from there top dura ace set. you can if you want go down the shopping list and add a few other extras like lighter pedals but i have my own now anyway, different saddle again, its what is ever comfortable for you, i hope to get one later today:d (saddle that is) richie
  9. depends on how far you want to go, thats why i am using my current bike till christmas then get the new one that is fully kitted out, my old one will become my winter bike. if you aim is to get round the course then to be honest all the carbon stuff is prob an expense you dont need, the money you would spend changing all that could be put towards a complete package after you have done a few,a set of clip on area bars are good, mine cost 30 quid and it makes riding comfortable in the areo posistion. richie
  10. Add on's as in bike stuff? puncture kit is not really needed on the sprint stuff as your race is over if your going for time. if its best effort then yeh you can put one on. small top tube bag for fuel bars to be honest there is not much mor you need, i dont take anything other than above. richie
  11. £1495!!!!!!!! Swimming:- Trunks or trisuit for pool Wetsuit Swim cap Goggles Ear plugs Towel Bike:- Helmet (must have approved stamp or BSI) Sunglasses Cycling Shorts Cycling Top Shoes (are you on clip less)? Socks Water Bottle Your race number will need to be fitted to you shirt, back for cycling front for running(i have a race belt that you just clip the number to and spin it round} Run:- Trainers Fuel bars Loads of enthusiasm!!!! richie
  12. yeh i did the sprint and loved it, hence following on, it can get quite expensive, buying kit and entering comps, although if like me you love it the money can be found. a lot of sprint ones are done in pools so no need for a wetsuit, i lost a lot of time changing into cycle gear, then running gear. i have a tri suit now which saves a lot of time, worn under the wetsuit, into transistion remove wetsuit, jump on bike do ride then back in off bike trainers on then run, saves loads of time. if you want a list of what you'll need let me know and i'll do one for you. my bike cost me 450 quid which is fine at the mo, going to get a new saddle later today as my one hurts a bit. i am saving at the mo for one of these for next years iron man!! http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Custom_Stealth_Pro_Carbon_700C_TUBULAR_WHEELS.html mmmmm only weighs about 16 lbs!! some of the shops allow you to hire a wetsuit for the season, and as we are half way through it that might be an idea for you. http://www.farnhamtri.org.uk/ might be local to you http://www.phoenixtri.co.uk/ richie
  13. Done, hope it goes well richie
  14. yes mate i do it, done 2 this year so far, got another one in a few weeks then a few more through out the year, leading up to a full iron man in july next year in Austria. They are really good fun, pleasant people at the events as well. The sprint distance your going to be doing are relatively easy to give you an idea of timing i did the following splits for my first event. 400m swim 07:25 20km bike 39mins 5km run 19mins couple of good websites are as follows http://www.tritalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?sid=fb5446d97badf63734e7042c0afefa03 http://www.ironmate.co.uk/ http://www.wiggle.co.uk/default.aspx?cat=triathlon http://www.sigmasport.co.uk/app/web/homepage.aspx you'll really enjoy it, i am doing olympic distance stuff now 1500m o/w swim 40km bike 10km run it can be expensive when you start out, but there are package deals in the 220 triathlon magazine this month, its just come out in WHSmiths richie
  15. we had laminate, was very cold and not cosy in the evening, always needed slippers on, dog fur was a nightmare, in the end we just carpeted straight over the top of it, lot better IMO. richie
  16. bit of a strange one, i know both my neighbours really well but i would not ask them for money for dinner, however........ if they are homeless and short of a few quid to get a bite to eat, then its up to you, how about instead of giving money (maybe used for drugs or alcahol) order him a pizza and have it delivered to him, just a gesture of good will, wont cost you a tenner perfect pizza are doing buy one get one free for £6.99!! plus you get dinner aswell!! richie
  17. Wasn't us, didnt go out in the supra yesterday, there is another black one in higham that is seen about some times. Just a thought it may be steve(couvez) i think his laydeeeeeee friend has a black one. richie

Yeh its one hell of a weapon, i was hitting my objective at distances out to 1100m, the the energy of this rifle is 33,000ft/lbs! not bad when a standard air rifle is 12ft/lbs. There is a number of different rounds that can be used but AP ones are common as they do whats required of them, its got one hell of a kick thats for sure. richie

  20. Ok, at the end of the year i am looking to purchase a new bike for the beginning of the triathlon season i have a trek at the mo which i am using this year then it will become my winter bike. The link is the one i am intrested in, on the tri sites they get a good write up but am intrested to hear any other views from people on here. Has anyone got this type of bike or have ridden it? http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Custom_Stealth_Pro_Carbon_700C_TUBULAR_WHEELS.html cheers richie
  21. When i was on tour last year, we had just got the car and unbeknown to me she put under car lighting on it!! SHE does my head in at times, i am tempted to speak to a few of the tankies on here and see if they lend it to me for a while! yeh got to be three strikes now, this, the rear quarter panel and then the wheels, thank god its her car and not mine! richie
