  1. This is on another forum i go on, there is a lot of people planning on doing it in the new year, so i thought i would post it here to so if anyone is planning on a get fit/stronger campaign in the new year. http://www.hundredpushups.com/test.html Richie
  2. we are with nationwide, and there tracker wont go lower than 2.75% Richie
  3. So if they cant do it through DNA which is proven to work, which method would you suggest they use? If the time frame to catch a criminal is reduced because his DNA is logged in a database, then surely that has to be a good move, Run the specimen, match it then pull in the individual, if they have no record of this person, the time frame taken to build a picture allows him to carry on acting. Take for instance the prostitute murders in Ipswich, how many died because they did not know who the guy was? if they had taken his DNA from the first victim, matched it from the Database, he would of been arrested probably before he murdered again. 4. It Was from 15 years previous that he committed the offences, it was when his cousin was stopped and she provided a DNA sample that they got the link and was arrested. In my eyes that has to be a good thing, one less rapist on the street, but hey if you want them there then thats your choice, and i wont argue that, everyone is entitled to there own opinion, mine is that there is a DNA data base to protect the innocent, if somebody raped my wife and was caught through a DNA database rather than there not been one and allowing them to go on and do it again to maybe your Wife/GF/Daughter, then surely it has to be a good thing, but if your happy for it to happen then thats fine. richie
  5. i was listen on radio 2 earlier where they were saying that because someone had been stopped for a traffic offence and there DNA had been taken, when they put it in the data base, it pulled up a match from her cousin that had commited 16 rapes and an attempted murder, he was then pulled in and is now serving a sentence, surely it has to be a good thing. Personally i think everyone's DNA should be taken, then in the event of a crime been committed, be it murder, rape or pedophilia it can be matched straight away to a certain few (forget how many are a rough match) then through witnesses and alibi's negate the innocent. Richie
  6. that i'll be the LSW its been replaced now sort of with a new piece of kit. pic one is minimi pic two LSW
  7. Doesn't the Army cadet rifle only fire single shot:innocent: it has no gas parts, therefore cant reload via the gas blow back, it has to be manually re-cocked after every shot;) richie
  8. Cheers mate:p sounds like some good advice! richie
  9. I am looking at getting a new pair of trainers over the next week or so, i have for a while now run in saucony ones but i fancied a change, they have to be of the stability style as i have a slightly collapsed arch, not to bad but enough to warrant a stability trainer. Has any one here tried or run in mizuno ones? Mileage whys i run 7-8 miles 3 times a week, plus 10km races when they are on, Doing the London marathon next year as well as Ironman Austria, so they are going to need to be able to stand up to some reasonable mileage in the next 6 months, budget wise up to or around the £100 mark Any ideas would be appreciated Cheers Richie
  10. Thats what i have now set up! richie
  11. I got a letter the other morning, because the initial direct debt set up has not covered the amount we used, ie we owe £201 they have recalculated our direct debt to adjust this and recoup the £201 owed, giving a price increase of......................................... 245% Richie
  12. Guys, Don't let it put you off, if its something you want to do then go for it, there is no harm in trying. Having said that i have worked with the TA over various tours over the last 15 years, some were very good lads, i think that was down to the personality of the individual, some were complete idiots that should of not left the job they were doing in civi street. Like a lot of the others have said, you will be joining guys that have a great deal of operational experience, so you will have to prove to them that you can cut it, and can be relied upon to back them 110% should the going get difficult. I know your prob thinking yeh i could do that, but when the time comes its not the place to say I don't like this and " I am a civi get me out of here " Richie
  13. Some really good points raised there even one from a guy that visited the same place i did and confirms that there is no slight of hand, funny shaped bolws or any other dodgy business going on, i suppose what would be useful now is for one of the Aussies to run a sink and let that drain and i do the same and if the both go the same way then fine case closed. However i still stand by what i saw and they never had specially designed basins it was a bucket and funnel and match. richie
  14. Maybe i should of given you all the facts, there are 2 jugs of water, one each side of the line seperated by 20m (thats 10m into the northern hemisphere and 10m into the southern hemisphere) at no point does he wiggle the funnel, induce a spin or do anything to the water, to the extent that even we are allowed to pour the water in, and place the match in the funnel. still spins in the opposite direction. but hey i am only telling you what i saw with my own eyes, richie
  15. The guy does not touch the funnel, just pours the water in and places a match on the surface and you watch it rotate, even to the extent of stopping it with you finger and trying to force it the opposite direction, it does not work, still reverts to either clock or anti clockwise. richie
  16. yeh thats all fine but i could really do with an explanation on how you lot think that it does not happen. Explain to me when i was watching the water one went clockwise and the other anti clockwise down the funnel. richie
  17. So what did i see then? how is it a trick? richie
  18. Not true! its proven if you go to the equator, ask a lot of the squaddies on here who have been to Kenya, they will of probably stopped there on the way up country to a place called NSG. There is a guy that does the thing about putting a match stick in a funnel of water and letting the water drain out, 10 meters either side of the line the match stick spins in the other direction, so it is true, and the readings for the spot are taken by GPS so is as good as true as you will get. Richie
  19. unfortunately you need to get the whole fitting, they have different ends in the tubes, the halogen ones have a small nipple type thing and the low energy type have 2 prongs like a florescent. Richie
  20. http://www.scldirect.co.uk/floodlights/pir-halogen-security/36-watt-energy-saving-pir-floodlight.html This is them fantastic bit of kit richie
  21. IP rating is just a level of weather proofing, i put up three outside lights today, and they were all IP44 which is fine for what your going to be doing. I know what your saying about the max spurs on the ring but thats for the likes of an additional socket rated at another 13amps, what your going to do with an outside light is fine, put the spur next to the socket and you'll be ok, your dad will be ok with doing it, those 300w halogen lights are old news now, i have just put up some new ones at my place and they are rated at 36 watts, the light output on them is great, they are in the same housing as the 300 watt ones but nearly a 10th of the power consumption, i really like them, will see if i can get you a link for them richie
  22. ok mate here you go this is what to do if you must, by the side of the socket you need to put a fused spur, and rate the fuse at 5 amps, even 3 will do if its only a small light, what the basically means is that should the light blow its the fuse in the spur that will trip as opposed to the main trip going in your consumer unit. Couple of things that concern me though, is it defiantly a separate feed for the boiler? the reason i ask is combi boilers only need to be rated at 5 amps, therefore it can be spurred from the main ring, either upstairs or down. Now by the letter of the law any new circuit should be protected by an RCD, ie your putting in a new light off of the ring main, however if it was to come from a lighting circuit the circuit is all ready in place, if you get my drift. and remember the IP rating for the outside light, minimum IP44 cheers Richie
  23. surefire without a doubt, mine has never let me down. richie
  24. that is truly scary, by the looks of that at least it can be said I doubt very much the people in the front car knew very little about what happened, not good though. richie
