  1. one question i've had, and i may be wrong on this but has anyone ever been back? they have only just landed a craft on mars, so if they had landed on the moon in what the 60's why has it taken 40 years to land on the next plant from us? just seems very sus to me, intriguing none the less! richie
  2. if any of you guys are over rushden way soon, i have seen a lovely supra parked down by the gypsy site!!!!!!! steve if you see this soon next time going to work have a look see. Directions are as follows:- turn on to A6 towards kettering from the higham roundabout, A6 furniture is on your left, just after that is the turning to the gypsy site, turn down there and drive down the road for about 300m its on the RHS. It's candy red with black carbon bonnet, chrome alloys and veilside spolier, looks very tidy. in all the time i have lived in Rushden i have never seen it dont think anyone else has either! mystery richie
  3. ok here you go this is how to do it if you have all the bits! What cable are you using? really you should be using 1.5mm twin and earth get it from B & Q. take the feed from where ever you are using, if it a socket then you need to put in a spur to down rate it it to 5 amp, this needs to be feed in 2.5mm twin and earth. if it from the lighting circuit then its ok. so......... take your 1.5mm cable which has brown (Live) and blue (neutral) to the switch position, the live goes to the top terminal marked (Com) the neutral has a bit of choc bar added to it, Then using another length of 1.5mm take this up to the light fitting, at the light fitting connect the live to the terminal marked (L) the blue to the terminal marked (N) and earth to the earth terminal. Go back to the switch position and connect the cable as follows, brown (L) to the other terminal position, which is at the bottom of the switch maybe marked L1/L2 and connect the (N) to the other neutral in there (one with choc block on). Remember to earth the the back box if its metal! sleeve the bare earth wire as well. hope this helps you today!! richie
  4. cheers, thats what i have been thinking, i have spoke to backer and they are sending one FOC for me!! nice people there, so will get plumber to fit it then i'll wire it up for the guy. hope it sorts the problem! richie
  5. Just need a bit of help/advice. i am a sparky and got called out begining of the week to a couples house as they had a problem with there immersion heater, They were only getting hot water till 2 in the afternoon, they are on a 2 rate electricity meter that heats water from midnight till 7 in the morning, they then only get hot water till 2. i have run a load of continuity checks and resistance checks and all ring true, however got called back Thursday as still not heating water enough, so i replaced the stat and set it to 60 degrees, called round Friday and the tank was really hot, at the top, could not touch it, but the bottom say about 9 inches was luke warm, is this normal? got a call this morning now he has no hot water at all!!!!!!! the time switch is working ok he says ie lights are coming on/off. the heating element is a Backer BS327 do they have a safety cut out trip or something similar? hoping you can help richie
  6. no thats fair comment mate, but........ cats are those type of animals that like to be outside and free, what i didn't like was some of the comments on here about it only been a cat, like others on here have said to people that love them as pets its as bad as losing a loved one. its just a sore point for me having lost one to someone that could not of given a rats arse about it. richie
  7. there are some very good comments on here, we had our cat hit by a car about 3 years ago, i was in the front garden when it happened, the sound of our cat getting hit by a car is a noise that will stay with me for a long while, the car sped of but i managed to get a god enough description. when i got to Draven, to see him withering around like he was, not knowing where he was was a sight that i never want to see again, he had bee hit hard enough to brake his jaw front to back and his back as well, not enough to kill him straight away that happened after i had carried him into the kitchen, not very nice. iirc you don't have to stop or report a cat incident however i think it comes down to morals, even just to see if it is dead. We have 3 cats now 1 indoor bengal and 2 tuff little cookies that are outdoor ones, its always a worry that if there not in when i go to bed that they are safe and are going to be in for breakfast. richie
  8. uniform!!!!!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm richie
  9. yep was jen going dancing richie
  10. was prob jen this morning going to work, she takes some weird routes considering we live in rushden and she works there, but then again map reading is not her strong point!!!!1 richie
  11. think i will go for the N95 if they come with it!! richie
  12. Yeh i like the look of the G800, never had a samsung before but quite liked how jens worked, the N95 is nice and i suppose having the features is a good thing to have should i ever need them just dont want the phone to be overly complicated. richie
  13. sounds like that one is out the equation then! richie
  14. i dont really do email, that can be done at home, how do you find the N95?
  15. I am after a bit of user feedback if i may! i am about to run out of contract with orange so they are offering me the usual upgrade on my phone. The question is this........ What one do i go for? I am not overly fussed about getting internet on it and the other high tech stuff, i just want a phone that i can make calls, send texts and take some good pics with. I have always had Nokia's i get on with them, however got jen a purple samsung G600 the other day and found it quite easy to use. I have narrowed it down to what i think are 3 resonable phones which i like the look of and do what i need. They are....... Nokia N95 8gb, Nokia 6500 Slide or the samsung G800 What are other peoples thoughts on these? have you got them, have you had problems with them and so on. Thanks in advance for any help Richie
  16. wen i was walking the dogs last night, at the back of rushden by the A6 bypass i heard a car giving it the beans down past the rugby club, when it came past me was a silver one with i think a veilside front, sounded very nice, especially when the dump valve kicked in! richie
  17. there is a guy who live in rushden, number plate end XTC! i have seen him parked on my our estate a few times, next time i see him i'll point im in the direction of the site, i am sure this is the one that most of us have seen around here. richie

  20. Its not much use to you at the mo but all i recall posting wise for the RAMC is the Sgt job in the med centre, all the others in there are bought in from the local practice and a few wives to do the admin stuff. hows it going out there anyhow? nothing on the news here like, richie
  21. did the test at JJB sports in northants through a friend thats training us and the distance if i remember correctly was 20m, he measured it out, as he does one most weeks. i am going to do a 1 1/2 mile run over the next few days to see what time i get. As for distance my runs vary from 5km right up to 20km stuff so its all varied really, richie
  22. i've just picked jen up now, so both got to get showers and then i suppose we'' make a move over there, richie
