  1. The UKs don't have any issues running BOVs so I doubt the VVTi's will. You may get a little hunt dropping to idle and stuff like that but nothing to worry about IMO. My MR2 ran like a bag of spanners with one, that was a different kettle of hamsters though. If you get the full kit for the MKIV they come with the recirc fitting anyway so if you got it, and decided you didn't like it, you could always fit the recirc valve.
  2. Yeah the stock narrowband is gone mate. Do you think that the S6 would be able to give the output to the gauge rather than the other way around? I'm just worried that there is a lot more to the O2 sensor than a 0-5v analogue signal can give. I'm pretty sure the S6 needs a wideband reference but I could be wrong.
  3. Yeah when the alternator is on the way out it's current output will drop hence why you're getting the lights on at idle. When you are driving the speed of the alternator is increased which in turn increases its output, hence why it self corrects until it drops again.
  4. Ok, before I hit the bottle..... Not sure if this is of any importance but the original O2 sensor is a Bosch 5 Wire, the one I got from Ryan is a 5 wire also. The analogue input to the gauge is 0V=7.35AF to 5V=22.39AF. From the above I would guess that the lab grade O2 sensor would work fine with the LC-1/gauge, what I don't know is whether the analogue output from the LC-1 would be good enough for the Syvecs to monitor with as I'm guessing there is a lot more information that can be monitored via the O2 sensor than a 5v analogue line can provide. Ideally I would connect the Lab O2 sensor to the Syvecs and the syvecs would output the 0-5v signal for the gauge. *fingers crossed*
  5. The rich conditions are caused by MAF sensors. I could be wrong but I think the VVTi does in fact have a MAF so you will most likely get rich spots when lifting off etc, basically any time the BOV is vented to atmosphere, as the air that would be going through the engine (that the ECU has calculated the fuel for) will now be vented to atmosphere leaving too much fuel for too little air. I don't think it's much to worry about in the Supra though. It might get a little grumpy when changing gear at low RPM but I don't think it would be highly noticeable.
  6. Not sure if you guys will have heard about this. The plan was to have an awesome 30 min firework display, due to a slight technical hitch 30mins turned into an even more awesomer 30 second firework display as the whole lot went off in a oner
  7. I can live with that In your defence I rarely get past page one of anything by Stephen King
  8. Based on that it seems pretty open and shut then, it's strange that it took so long though. I guess the profile had a lot to do with that though. As I said I've only heard snippets, what I heard suggested he was guilty but we all know what the media can be like.
  9. I've PM'd Ryan about this but he is a busy guy so I thought I would put it here as well to see if you guys could help me get my head around this... I currently have the following AFR gauge, Wideband controller and O2 sensor... http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/db.php I'm getting the Syvecs S6 ECU and Ryan recommended fitting a lab grade O2 sensor for the ECU. Now, what I want to do is only make use of the lab grade O2 sensor and somehow get the readings to both the ECU and the Gauge. According to the above spiel the gauge works off of an analogue signal from the wideband controller (the LC-1). Does the S6 have analogue outputs? Would it not be possible to have the lab grade O2 sensor connected to the S6 and then have an analogue output from the S6 set to send the wideband signal to the gauge that I have? Any other suggestions? I have no idea if the O2 sensor I have is compatible with the LC-1 or whether it would be totally redundant now or not. Thanks
  10. Not sure if I've missed a thread on this or if it's just not really been of any interest. Just heard on the radio that Conrad Murray has been found guilty. Anyone been following the goings on? Thoughts? I've only really heard the basics through various radio reports.
  11. Can't really judge the look at the moment but I didn't like the last flare you had so hopefully this will look better. The fact that they are going to be smoother should make a difference, rather than a reverse lip. The silver paint will disguise the shape a bit too so it will probably look more subtle than it does at the moment. Look forward to seeing it finished regardless
  12. Totally agree, we almost got caught out on the Chinese market as well. It was highlighted to us when Boeing were going through their "business". Pretty sure now standards have been put in place. With regards to the bearing you sold the value is there given that it's a Toyota part, that's a non-issue as we know what those cost. I just wanted to point out that it was myself who said to avoid the Ebay bearings and it was yourself that said that Koyo were the OEM supplier. Whether or not they are genuine Koyo remains to be seen but I would have no worries with buying one personally, now knowing that Koyo were the OEM supplier. I doubt there would be big money in knocking off Supra idler bearings
  13. Funnily enough I was gobsmacked with what some of our delivery drivers get away with. They courier stuff between the sites (Derby, EK, Ansty, etc). Most of the time they will take stuff to another site, kip for an hour then bring a load of stuff back up. That's ok if your shift is only 10 hours long or whatever, but these guys are running for days at a time to rake in the money. It's mental, noone should be behind a wheel for that length of time (unless in a 24hr race ).
  14. In fairness it was myself who slammed the ebay ones a few moons back and it was yourself who said the Ebay one was the same as OEM (Koyo). I wouldn't have touched them with a barge pole, and I haven't yet, if you hadn't recommended them
  15. The one on ebay is OEM though lol. It just doesn't have the toyota bag or price tag
  16. I think someone got bored and paid absolutely no attention to the point you were making Chris Very very nice though
  17. A way with words? Are you guys kidding? I almost fell asleep. Very nice anecdotal story but if I picked up a book that started off so tedious it would be in the bin before page 2
  18. That's fantastic. I always wondered why cams were so expensive considering they are cast. These will be a fantastic upgrade.
  19. Great news mate Well done guys!
  20. Forgot to say mate, got mine in end of last week. Look fantastic mate, cheers
  21. I've been after a set of these for a while now. The timing just sucks at the moment, I have a million things to buy and enough money for 1
  22. Yeah the tensioner isn't a cheap copy, it's the same one that Toyota provide (Koyo), the timing belt is though.... so bin it
