  1. Since the ABS light is acting up, its worth verifying that ABS still works!
  2. That looks great! Shame it's based on a P4 though. I borrowed a P4 2.8Ghz from a mate to run in my htpc and it was very hot and noisy. Pentium M is way better How much noise does that thing make?
  3. The interior is safely stowed behind my sofa Turbo makes a bit of a rasping noise. Had to have a bit of welding done for rust, but overall it's good. Can't think of anything that has gone wrong, although I've not done more than about 4K. I was thinking about welding the diff to make it better for drifting, but probably won't bother as I don't really want to knacker the handling on the road. A few people I've spoken to reckon the optional viscous diff isn't much of an improvement over the open diff and not worth upgrading to.
  4. awwwwww I have to admit I don't drive it much, but it's a fantastic car to drive since i stuck the rollcage and the coilovers on it. I might sell it next year, but will probably have to fix the turbo as it sounds a bit unhealthy after I went on a drifting day!
  5. Just nuke it with some WD40. I bet it frees it up. I've had load of locks do this.
  6. Makes me mad that people can't just take responsibility for their own actions. I'd be back in the same car park the same time next week looking for a car with a big purple mark down the side.
  7. Hi Dave, Welcome to the board. I remember you from the Celica forum. The best headlight cleaning description is here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=40207 I did mine a few weeks ago and they look great now.
  8. Ta Ewen, nearly missed I'm a Celebrity
  9. Just looked it up. It was 217 quid.
  10. I had my car transported from Cambridge to Chris Wilson's a couple of years ago by this company: http://www.pvl.org.uk/ I phoned 2 or 3 other places and they were the cheapest I think.
  11. Looks very smart, but that's exactly what I thought too. The later cars have an airbag there for good reason!
  12. ooh worth watching right to the end

If it's really that easy to bypass an administrator account then Bill Gates should be shot!
  14. I think your concern about the lights is understandable. They look rubbish! The lights look like they aren't pushed together properly. Are all six metal clips in place? (I can see one of them is). Were they sealed back together with new sealant, or just the old stuff? Having something stuck in the inside is pretty shoddy! I refurbed one of my headlights yesterday (did the other one a couple of weeks ago), and after a night of heavy rain, there isn't a trace of water or any condensation inside. I used "Dow Corning Auto Silicone Rubber Sealant Instant Gasket". The first suggested use printed on the back is headlamps. Did you put all the bulbs in properly? Obviously, if they don't create an air-tight seal then the moisture will get in.
  15. From what you described, sounds like it could be the speed converter that's at fault. Usually a ropey box to convert kph to mph on your speedo. It's a common problem. Can't exactly remember the conditions under which it does a check, but it's something like water temperature over a certain amount AND rpm over 3000 for a few seconds, then if the speed signal is not as expected it will light the warning lamp. It's code 42 when you do the ECU diagnostics check.
  16. or go the whole hog and get unlimited downloads for $25 I got 100Gb of hi-def movies from Giganews last month and I've pretty much abandoned p2p/bitorrent type programs now in favour of newsgroups. NTL haven't complained about my download amounts yet
  17. Some of you might be interested in this article in Performance Ford Magazine about Pi Research and Pectel. The journos came round the other day and took loads of photos. My desk is on the first page performanceford.pdf
  18. Your workplace obviously has a looser pornography policy than mine
  19. Who was the silver supe parked next to me at tescos milton? Looked really familar, and I'm sure I've met the owner at a cambridge meet. Was it Phil or Richard Harmon or someone else?
  20. Agreed. It's very low in the middle, but doesn't really matter unless you go off-roading Obviously, you can't go caning it over speed-bumps but I've had no problems to speak of. Might be a different matter with lowered suspension though.
  21. Serial or CAN (via parallel port adapter). I think I tried it successfully with a USB->serial converter a while ago.
