  1. Cheers Chipmunk, that's just what I was after. I wonder if that would suit my wheels: http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/albums/supra/IMG_4705.sized.jpg and if so, would spraying them black be a DIY job, or something I should leave to the professionals?
  2. Does anyone have a picture of some black alloy wheels but with a polished lip? I'm thinking of attacking mine with some black spray paint! Thanks.
  3. That's quite amusing. I discovered a couple of years after Alex's initial post that my windscreen wiper arms were indeed the wrong way around. Got them swapped back correctly when I had a replacement windscreen
  4. Chilli - It's a Race Technology AP22. It works fine. I'd rather "recommend" accelerometers produced by the company I work for, but they're a bit more expensive Ian - Your car is NUTS!!!!! I want a single!!
  5. Agreed. I think these are much more interesting than qtr mile times. I doubt you'll get accuracy greater than one second based on your car speedo though. I recorded these times for my supra with an accelerometer: 60-100 mph 6.1 secs 30-70 mph 3.8 secs I also plotted this graph of some of my cars: http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/CARS.gif
  6. Has it gone up that much since Saturday?! I paid 99.9 for Optimax on Newmarket Road yesterday.
  7. From what I've heard, doing the side windows isn't too hard if you take your time, as the glass is quite flat (or at least is only curved in one plane). The tailgate is curved in both planes so I believe it's a tricky job. When I got my windows tinted, the guy said that the side windows only took him a few minutes, but the tailgate took a lot longer. I think they have to heat the film or something to stretch it as its being put on.
  8. I went from an auto TT Supe to a modded 200SX
  9. press ye red button below and all thy questions will be answered..... http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/redbutton.jpg
  10. nah, it's fine here. this is where you want to go: http://www.ntl-isp.ntl.com/ServiceStatus/
  11. I think you should get them done in light blue to match the magic tree
  12. Congealed blood will form a powerful adhesive. It's part of the design.
  13. For p2p stuff I use Shareaza which is very good and also does bittorrent. My main source for music and videos is now Usenet. I subscribed to Giganews which provides unlimited downloads from their newsgroup server for $25/month. For a newsgroup reader I use NewsLeecher as it indexes all the alt.binaries groups and lets you search very quickly. I can find almost any album I like and download it in about 5 minutes
  14. The thought of spraying a lovely black MR2 Turbo in green is enough to make me hurl....but actually it looks fantastic! Really nice colour. But what Vauxhalls were ever painted in that colour? I've never seen one.
  15. (thought i'd get in there first )
  16. Samsung panels *have* been used in Sony LCD TVs in the past. Samsung is one of the largest makers of LCDs and they find their way into a lot of difference manufacturers sets. In fact they've just finished a new factory together: http://www.itworld.com/Comp/3952/050419sonylcd/ I recently bought a Samsung LCD TV and have been downloading hi-def movies off Usenet. The quality is astounding (about 4 times the resolution of DVD). People will definitely notice the difference when Sky starts its HD service next year. Having said that, I don't agree that SD plasmas are worthless. They can still have a fantastic picture if set up properly and I suspect the majority of people are still going to be connecting with SCART leads and ropey supermarket DVD players for a good few years yet
  17. IQ result: 72 James, you obviously have extreme numeracy and literacy deficiencies. It is possible that English is your second or third language, or that you only recently learned to read. Extreme imsobriety is another possibility considering that choosing options at random would have resulted in a better score. Your score has generated an automatic email to our webmaster, who will attempt to contact you as you may currently be in danger from yourself. Please ensure that any sharp objects are placed out of reach and be particularly aware of any objects that may present a choking hazard. None of this should cause you undue concern. Chances are high that you can lead a productive and fulfilling life a variety of careers such as cushion-stuffing or traffic warden.
  18. Another top tip mcanny! Do you know if there's a maximum limit on the price for the 15% off? It sounds too good to be true if I was buying something expensive on ebay.

  22. I got some label remover a while ago from Maplin and it was incredibly good. No idea what it contains except it smelt of oranges. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=25350&doy=11m7
