  1. I looked at selling mine last year as I was moving house in Jan this year. Got two phone calls. One saying he was coming to see it... but never turned up, the other offering £1k less than asking price. I was asking £7995 for a 74K mile car though... to test the market Don't want to sell now anyway, fell in love with it all over again once spring came & the roads dried out
  2. They are exchange reconditioned calipers, so you have to have a set of 4 pot calipers in the first place! I'm sure you can buy a reconditioning kit cheaper, and go for stainless pistons at the same time?
  3. FYI Quick Farce will repair punctures for free. I am running the Nankangs on a repaired rear tyre thanks to a screw through it. I never go above 95 leptons as I like my licence intact. When I get the Goodyear GSD3's all round then I may invest some time in track days, but with the Nankangs it just aint worth it

    Laser Eye Surgery

Had mine done three years ago. Not the cut the flap type (lasik) but the wipe the epithellium out of the way type (lasek). Hurt a bit after but next day I could see enough to go out. It was amazing to see things like birds in trees & the alarm clock first thing in the morning. It was just like I'd never been short sighted! My left eye gets a bit dry & lazy when I get tired but other than that I'm lovin it (as a fast food chain says)
  5. Not noisier, no difference really. Just happy in the knowledge that I can wind the boost up safely & the fuelling will be okay (as far as fuel delivery goes.... injectors is another thing!).
  6. Aah, thanks. Was starting to think that the J spec pump had already been replaced... and i was replacing it again!
  7. Have you got cats fitted? If they are still on they may get damaged by the misfire if you give it plenty of welly. If you pootle along then no probs. Steve
  8. I've just replaced my J spec fuel pump with a Walbro. Nice easy job ! I took the old pump out and was surprised to find it was almost exactly the same as the Walbro. It's exactly the same size and is a Denso 195130. It has 08 06N 2690 etched on the top surface next to the part number. I thought the J spec was bigger than the Walbro? Any ideas? Steve

    Decat

Not exactly true. Scavenging is about tuning the exhaust system length and diameter (Helmholtz resonator theory), not about back pressure. The less back pressure in all 4 stroke engines the better. In 2 strokes the back pressure needs to be matched to the port timing at the power band that is needed. 4 strokes, however, suffer from exhaust reversion and contamination of the fuel/air mix in the cylinder if there is back pressure. Also pumping losses are higher. The NA will respond to a low back pressure free flowing exhaust. Unlike turbo engines (which aren't fussy because of the huge amount of air being forced throught them) there is an optimum size (diameter) to achieve max power without being too restrictive or without being too big to loose gas veocity. 2.5 inches should be fine.
  10. Fuzzy???? I thought they got all competitive, like peacocks showing their feathers? Must be all the testosterone Brings out the hovis in them.
  11. Has he tried the local Dent Magician??? At £60 each panel it shouldn't cost more than £180! Seriously, that's a good crash. Bad news that it happened... but good it beared up so well. The passenger compartment looks virtually unscathed & the windscreen is hardly broken. I've seen F**d Fiestas after 30mph offset frontal impact where the pedals are where the steering wheel should be
  12. Burned out solenoid contacts can do this. They probably can be taken apart & cleaned with some wet & dry 800 grit. Or get a new starter?
  13. Andrew, did you grind out the cracks to form a V groove & then fill this??? Or were the cracks wide enough to fill entirely? Just thinking that if not then the spark can still track across the crack to your epoxy, and depending on the thickness of this it may or may not withstand it. Sounds like a large amount of cash saved though.... I'm always up for that!
  14. Update on the throttle removal: 1) It seem more responsive at low throttle 2) There's no harsh gear shifting, in fact if anything its smoother 3) The BOV doesn't blow on gear changes anymore, meaning its on boost all the time 4) No warning lights 5) Over run seems to go on longer... i.e. there seems to be less engine braking 6) Haven't tried it out in the wet yet!!!! 7) After cleaning the gunky crap out of the throttle body it idled at 1400 rpm! Soon had it tweaked back to 800ish. The shift from neutral to drive seems much smoother. No jolt anymore. In all its all positives.... so far.
  15. From Blackcircles.com: The Nexen N3000 tyre is the new breed of performance mid-level tyres. The life isn’t as good as a Michelin Pilot Sport for instance; however in all departments the Nexen N3000 delivers more than it costs. Value for money and a level of performance that dosent seem to match what the price would have you expect – brilliant. If you wanted to upgrade from the Nexen N3000 we would recommend a Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 or Michelin Pilot Sport 2. Life: 3 out of 5 Handling: 3 out of 5 Noise: 3 out of 5 So cheap, but quite good. Probably better than my Nankangs that are only suitable for milk floats.... so i'm told
  16. Next it'll be in the front room under a nice cosy duvet :D
  17. I had mine set up on an optical 4 wheel alignment top of the range thingy in Worthing, W. Sussex. Since the car had been lowered in Japan it hadn't been adjusted. All the tyres were shot as ALL the settings were way out..... Lots of tweaking later, and £215 its spot on to the Lance W numbers, and handles so much better. I think there's a place in Norh Wales that does the same optical alignment for club members for £85???? Quick Farce won't be able to do anything other than front tracking. You need an expert, who can do it properly.
  18. You didn't put an option up on the poll for blowing it all on drink & drugs then waking up in the gutter in 5 years wondering where it all went..... still with the key to the old Supe in your pocket
  19. Don't beat about the bush.... say what you mean

    Milk

They were sh*te. This is the smallest mammal, the Kitti’s Hog-Nosed Bat. Weighs 2 grams & is 3 cm long. Imagine trying to milk that?? Wouldn't get enough for a coffee eh??
  21. Is that in Totterdown??? If it is they're really cheap, almost like they've stolen them!!
  22. I want them... to put it simply! Jon's done a great job. Are the lightly smoked ones available thatare shown in the link???
  23. repairs required???? Its always the way... the smallest oversight leads to the biggest fcuk up.
  24. Yep, if you haven't got £250 then £2.50 is a bit more reasonable If anyone wants one doing let me know.
  25. 30's only young, don't listen to 'em Happy b'day
