  1. Agreed It's hardly secret technology is it! The cars are going extinct. More likely they want to prevent people from looking over their tuning..
  2. That is mega sh*tty. is the company banned from being mentioned on this forum? pm cough
  3. Not sure how aem tuner logs but it may be best to log direct to laptop, that seems possible from a readup
  4. Drive it round and set it logging or download logs and post them up here. Been Combing through my own ecu logs lately so may be able to spot something or other folks more in the know will be able to take a look too
  5. Is the aem v2 external map sensor ? Is the ecu faulty? - - - Updated - - - What logging does it offer? Any info from that?
  6. Would be easy enough to pipe a mocal in Im sure. Not Oem but will sure help protect an expensive diff..
  7. Its a good resource. Certainly provides more help than your post anyway. - - - Updated - - - Its a good resource. Certainly provides more help than your post anyway.
  8. Just go on https://www.fiverr.com and post it as a job if you have lots to do chris. You will get them done for peanuts and no headaches for you!
  9. Got some 19" siena advan IIs with almost brand new tyres. Wheels were fully refurbed before I bought them , new nuts etc. Pics are on here somewhere. Havent advertised them yet but will be as going to 18s Pics here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?343868-Possible-Supra-single-to-be-broken
  10. Will speak to some 911t mates. also i badly want to come but car is being mapped on 5th and I am unsure if it will be pod ready. Will update asap
  11. Dont have one to hand but I would guess 600mm long x 90 mm diameter would cover it. So two in a box maybe 700 mm L x 200 mm W x 100 mm H . Just a semi- educated estimate though! ( coilovers)
  12. Very easy to fake stamps. I wouldnt trust old car service history unless it is backed up fully with invoices. Likewise most main dealers would be clueless with these cars nowadays Im guessing so a good specialist service history would mean far more to me

    Which ecu to use

Martin Battye knows his stuff and very helpful. Well thought of on the drift scene G4 extreme Link is a great piece of kit. Not as many inputs as the Syvecs iirc and hence cannot do the auto box which is a great shame! Especially as stock ECU's are developing gremlins more and more as they get older. So for me Syvecs wins out due to being able to do the autobox functions, but G4 extreme is about half the price when all sensors and things are added. Hence it is a very good contender, particularly for manual cars. Link support are also very good and are helping me get to the bottom of a tuning issue with a G3 which is 9 years old now.

    Which ecu to use

Looks a decent ECU though I am not familiar with it. If the tuner is happy to tune it then why not? It will do the job nicely.
  15. Has this been used Jamesy? any issues with it?

Ahh missed the white supra totally. Still, a poor turnout!
  17. Additionally I didn't mean a modified stock box, I was referring to a purely stock box being fitted as being a bad idea IMO. A shimmed and modded stock one is definitely the cheaper option in money, not sure about time though.
  18. Indeed, I know David P is a big fan of shimming them and has had good success. I suppose it depends on the power goals of the car, but there are many further upgrades that can and are done to these boxes eg US trans rebuild option Valve body is custom calibrated to provide the ultimate in clutch application power and clamping force (The modifications performed by us are a proprietary design and are unavailable elsewhere) **shimmed!!** Virtually indestructible Raybestos Blue Plates are installed in all shifting clutches *NEW FEATURE* We have now developed the industry's only 6 friction disk C-2 clutch pack for a 50% increase in third gear holding capacity. New one way clutches (sprags) are installed in all locations Planetary splines are heat treated to prevent stripping Metalax treatment is applied to input shaft to eliminate stress related failure Sun shell is heat treated to prevent spline stripping New design high flow solenoid assemblies are installed Lube system is redesigned to provide increased flow and cooler operation Performance pressure regulator boost valve is installed to prevent sluggish line pressure rise and to increase clutch holding ability.
  19. I run the titan stage 2 auto box and cannot fault it. Very solid piece of kit with nice firm shifts. My car is giving me gyp in other areas currently (standalone ecu) but before when I was running it about it was a beast. I would definitely spend the extra on the titan box. I have heard a few auto box 'experts' bad mouth them saying they are only shimmed to increase pressure. That isn't true, they have a lot of mods according to Nero and titan and are good down to 9 second quarters or even 8s (someone has run 8s on one with no issues) with reliability (with decent coolers etc). Would be a false economy to buy an auto box , fit it and then blow it again to have to do it all again but with a built box (and mk4gaz will have probs sold it by then as its very cheap). 500 hp is right at the very top limit for the stock auto even with coolers they are not guaranteed to last at that for long if run hard. Bit of a lottery with a stock box and single turbo IMO.
  20. Probably best not to name garages and what they allow you to get away with.... Might get someone in trouble. Maybe best to just recommend garages...

Was disappointed not to see any Supra's racing in this event! I was hoping to be running my car there but unfortunately due to waiting for it to get sorted that was not happening. Saw a nice supra in the clubs area, a grey one reg L ***YNV. Is that anyone on here? Did anyone else attend the event? foul rain closed play early but it was still good to see Jurgens monster Lambo raging down the track in addition to some very quick GTR's and all manner of other cars. Except Supras, well on the sunday anyway, not sure if any ran on the saturday qualifiers. Shame really
  22. Sounds like an excellent service by JM imports. Issues and electrical gremlins are part and parcel of owning a 20 year old car unfortunately. Regardless of mileage and condition, it is the age that is the important thing with electronic components developing faults for no reason and wiring looms getting brittle and cracking etc, for no apparent good reason! Glad it's all resolved.
