  1. So you just use the car reading in kph? Not sure I could get used to that given that its my daily driver and the mrs will be using it as well (I think 3 points would be a certainty there!) After 3 and a bit weeks without the car (have only owned it for 5) this is driving me to despair!
  2. That is exactly what Envy are going to check tomorrow mate. Stupid question time (I think!) - If the dash is accurately reading in Kmh, would fitting one of the dials in the attached pics give me what I'm after? I.e. the sensor would still be in kmh but I'd be able to see the mph equivalent?
  3. Gaz tells me when they tested it, they were doing a confirmed 50mph (GPS) but the speedo reckoned only 20mph. From the investigation they have done so far, it would appear that some other electrical device that no longer on the car has buggered up the wiring circuits
  4. Ok - I don't know enough detail about the ins and outs of the actual fault to post it all here but the gist of it is as follows.... Bought myself what I thought was a tidy NA but soon noticed that the speed indicated on the dial didn't seem to match the actual speed I thought I was doing. (The speedo dial reads in MPH). So, in it went to Envy expecting to have to replace the speed convertor and that would be it. Well, coming up to 4 weeks now and the car is still with Envy. It took several different convertors before the Envy lads were able to get it to read in mph but even when they did, there appears to be something amiss and the speedo is still over-reading/isn't accurate. Only Gaz could adequately go through what they have or haven't tried but my last communications with Gaz today are basically that they are running out of options and are a bit stumped. Obviously, all I want is to be able to know what speed I'm doing in mph (don't want to go down the route of a separate sat nav or anything like that) without having to drive along doing mental arithmetic all the time. Can anyone recommend an auto-electrician that might be able to take a closer look at the car please? (ideally in North East) Cheers

  6. I'm out in Durham on my works doo from mid-day on the 21st but will be getting the train back to Newcastle at some point so would meet up. Might already be a wee bit tipsy....
  7. I agree with Jazz on that one like - TRD on there would look the business!
  8. Nice one mate - welcome.

    Polish.

If you're going to listen to any advice on polishing - listen to Michael. Have you seen that blokes pics in his garage?
  10. Pleased you had good break mate - decent temps?
  11. Have you tried scewfix.com mate?
  12. Stevo

    All sorts

Do you have the boot cover/roller blind mate?
  13. For £3995, that seems a pretty decent car all round tbh. The wheels do look good on a black car like.....
  14. Very nice car mate - good luck with the sale. Would have been interested in this 100% if it were this time last month.
  15. Think you'll struggle with finding a manual at that price mate. Not impossible though - I got my manual NA (in black) for £3500 about a month ago. Be prepared to travel though. From Newcastle I looked at cars in Leeds, Derby, Manchester and a few others before finding the right one in Cambridgeshire. Best of luck in your search.
  16. Alright fellas - good effort on the turnout. Was meant to be coming along to this but my car is still stuck at Envy waiting for a part that got delayed in the bloody postal strike. Next time.....

    buying

    Andrex if its a single!
  18. Welcome mate. I felt like that for about 2 years before I got mine so know what you've been going through for the last 6 months.
  19. At that price range mate (which is still mid-low end), I'd be tempted to stick with the Plasma. LCD picture quality has come on massively recently but on that model I'd be wary of how good the blacks are in terms of their 'depth' and also its ability to cope with fast moving objects on screen. Do you know if it is 100Mhz processing? Check out the pros and cons of each over on the AV forums.
  20. Never heard of LCDs doing this whilst on stand-by, but 'humming' is a common problem during viewing often attributed to the back light on many models. Don't see how this would affect the TV if its on stand-by but can't harm to try adjusting your back light down - just play with it to see what suits. Maybe have a look at posts over on the AV forums and search on 'humming'....?
  21. Top result lads! Keep the hardwork and dedication coming.... you're making us all proud to be owners.
  22. Whats the pub called Hodge? Have only had the Supra for a week and a bit so would have really fancied doing something - sods law I'm already booked into Seaham Hall with the missus for a bloody spa day!
