1. For a minute there I thought you'd had the Groundforce team in..
2. What wheels are those?
3. Errrrrrr..........if this is going to come off, does anyone have any objections to me turning up in my Golf? Don't actually own a Supra yet you see - just a club groupie at the minute Would love to have a bit banter with you all though - hopefully ownership isn't too far off.
4. How about the Tyne Riverside Country Park for a meeting site? Its at Newburn, not far off the A1 and has loads of free parking, grassy areas etc... http://www.petersen-stainless.co.uk/blb/countrypark.html and there's a pub with its own micro brewery on-site that also does decent grub: http://www.petersen-stainless.co.uk/blb/thepub.html If September brings some good weather it would be pretty good I reckon...
5. Hi mate, I'll take one of the black 'Supra's please - just let me know how you want paying. Cheers
6. My kid brother currently works as a sprayer for Aston Martin at their workshop up here in the North East. He gave me a tour of their bodyshop facilities a few weeks back for a 'behind the scenes' look - oh my god . The place was like a military facilitity of some sort! Seen some of the stuff he has worked on - mainly older stuff like DB5s etc and it is an absolute top notch job as you'd expect. However, the average price customer's pay for a respray there is £15,000........
7. Hi - not sure if this topic is in the correct forum, but was just wondering if any of the North East members know this car: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/221510.htm Any general opinions on it as the advert stands? Cheers folks.
8. I think meeting at the retail world end is what would make it seem a bit 'chavarish' Given that its a sunday, it shouldn't be too hard to find a large area not in use down one of the less frequented parts. I'm off work next week so will have a scout about and see what I can find.

Ebay Supra

Jurgen - sorry pal, what do you mean by it having face lift rear lights to bumper?

Ebay Supra

Hi Anyone know anything about this Supra advertised on Ebay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-SUPRA-3-0l-NON-TURBO-GLEAMING-BLACK_W0QQitemZ260145830776QQihZ016QQcategoryZ18290QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Or perhaps the owner is a member on here? Thinking about going to take a look at it - any info in advance or even just thoughts / opinions would be welcome. Cheers

Budget Insurance

Most she could confirm was that it was a Supra 3.0i Coupe.
13. Have received a decent insurance quote from Budget today but it seems suspiciously cheap. Quote was online, so I called them up to check they had the correct vehicle details. However, despite me specifically asking, the woman on the phone was unable to confirm whether it was definitely for a Mkiv model. She basically she was just reading what was on the screen in front of her..... Is there any surefire way of ensuring that the insurance cover I get is definitely for the correct vehicle???? Would hate to think I got a bargain only to discover (to my expense) that the policy doesn't cover the correct vehicle model!! Any advice would be appreciated - cheers.
14. Envy sounds good. For a coastal spot though, could always try Druridge Bay Country park....
15. 20th is a Monday mind.... 19th would be ok though or 18th even
16. Sounds good to me - just need a thumbs up from Kev and Gaz then.
17. Depends upon how much 'public exposure' people want really - if its not a big factor then I'd say down on the Team Valley Trading Estate somewhere. Bags of space, doddle to get to just off the A1, usually some burger vans dotted around the place for butties etc or there is a Maccy D's & Sainsbury's nearby. I think Mr Keef already suggested this....
18. Any location agreed for this yet? I seem to remember Tom having some sort of issue with the Newcastle council last time - something around public liability insurance? Was that for the Tux car park?
19. Taking my time is going to be harder than I think cos after 2 years of wanting one, now that I can its hard not to just dive in feet first! Will try and keep my sensible head on though
20. Cheers for the welcome lads. Yeah - the drop in price that I've noticed since I've been on the forum in the last few years is horrendous (esp. N/A) ....so bargains galore to be had but bad news for the sellers eh?
21. Just thought I'd say a proper 'Hello' to you all even though I originally registered in '05! Just paid the £10 as I'm much closer to getting a supra now - gathering finances for a N/A. Plan is to pay around the £3500 mark for a fairly common silver one (no offence, but it does seem true!) and spend some money on a respray and other jobs I have in mind. Ideally want something that is mechanically sound though. From what I can tell, the black and gunmetal ones seem to command higher prices...? Basically will have it as a bit of a project, off the road to start with before I start using it. Anyhow - have been around the forum for over 2 years now and have a good feel for the place (including the search button! ). Already feels like I know some of you, but looking forward to getting a car sorted and coming to some meets Cheers
22. I'll come along to this to meet you guys and hopefully make some good contacts. No Supra as of yet but I never miss the chance to have a good ogle at them!
23. What about this Supra babe then? Sorry for size of pic. IMO i always prefer the japenese girls you see at the autosalons etc..

Big Loss...

I guess you are partly right - if people turned that passion etc to other areas of their life they'd achieve a hell of a lot more.

Big Loss...

Strange how these things affect you so much isn't it - still the man is a legend and don't forget he done the business for England too! Speaking of which, Fowler would have most definitely been on my squad list for the world cup like....jeez the talent he's leaving behind.
