Burna, is there any list/option for Veggies? I'm afraid my wife will not eat dead animals.

Have the same problem with grace think options are supposed to be better this year. As the last two that's been the only let down. Last year in particular, grace got a jacket potatoe with butter. I wasn't best pleased with the staff as they were tbh rude and not helpful when I requested it.

I bought the subject of veggie options up at our meeting with Wroxall on Saturday. There will be vegetarian burgers and kebabs, and also jacket potatoes as standard this year, as we are paying more for the BBQ.

If you have an issues on the day Jake please come and see me and I will sort it :)

That's goes for everyone attending, if you comes across anything you are not happy with on the day, be it your room, staff/service, or food, come see me please on the day. They are charging is a lot more for the event this year and I have made it clear that standards need to improve on their end also. I will be settling the bill on the Sunday and I've warned them that if I'm unhappy with anything for any reason it will be coming out of the final payment this year.

Thanks mate I knew you said this year will improve and that's great news. Any problems will shout. But I'm sure it will be fine. Even though the selection was poor last time I think the main issue is they give all the veggie kebabs away to everyone too. Ideally imo they should hold them back for the first round of helpings till people have had one serving then have the free for all.

Why? Surely if it agreed that's final? Maybe they make to much of a big loss?

You would think wouldn't you, but the original proposal was pulled and overruled by the owner. Price went up, and the concession on the bar was removed. I'm still not best pleased over it, but yes they don't make any near the amount of money out of us compared to what they earn from all other car club events they hold. On average other car clubs spend £300 per booking, that includes two nights and a gala dinner, and that is booked direct with the hotel, not the club, so the hotel get everything.

In comparison we only pay the hotel for your room and BBQ and evening platter, so that's all they make out of us, which is half the spend of other clubs. Everything else like the entertainment we arrange ourselves and pay for it out of your ticket cost, it really is run on a shoestring, and I can see it being the last year it will be done this way. Next year Wroxall will be increasing the cost to us to bring us inline with what the other car clubs spend, and I can't see a lot of members wanting to pay it, a lot of members don't seem to understand that the ticket cost of only £130 would only get you room only in a hotel like Wroxall! You get two servings of food throughout the day, two lots of entertainment, a DJ, and full exclusivity of the whole estate!

'S Club Party' will most likely go ahead next year, whether it will be at Wroxall I don't know yet as I'm waiting to hear back after our meeting on what they will expect for a room price next year, or if the party will be in a new and exciting form ;) Either way it will cost more, but I foresee it probably being a smaller more exclusive event for those that are actually willing to pay for an event that offers something totally different to what other events in the club calendar offer, and members that understand the value they are getting for having an event at special locations and all the extras that they get with the 'S Club Party' :)

I think I speak for a fair few of us that I'd be happy for the price to go up. It's a great event and a highlight of the years events. Not getting rid of me that easy :)

I don't mind what I'm paying, for me it's more about socialising with people I don't get to see very often. As you have said before its more about the people than the cars. Catching up with old friends and making new ones, also about making more memories! :D I'll always attened when I can! I'm sure a lot of hard work goes into these events and I'm sure I speak on behalf of everyone that we appreciate everyone behind the scenes who make these events happen. I look forward to sharing a beer with you at Wroxall

Well that offer is very open minded and generous of you my old friend! lol :D

I know you get it, and you've always understood completely what Wile and I have have set out to achieve from day one :)

Actually while over beers the weekend Wile and I were chatting about you, Jake, and a few others, and how our concept of 'S Club Party' has hit home with you lot, we don't have to explain the idea of the event anymore on here like we constantly had to, you guys jump in and do it for us now! lol "It's not about the cars, so you don't need your Supra", "It's a social event", "It's an event to give back a little something to the wives/ girlfriends / partners" Hahaha it's like you all have the same script :D

Joking aside, it really does make myself and Wile very proud that you love, enjoy, and appreciate the different type of event that the 'S Club Party' is, and really makes us happy that so many of you do :) Thank you very much, all of you :)

To be honest, I wouldn't.

It is a great event, only because of the work Burna and Wile do and everyone that attends.

However, I feel that the price increase isn't going to make it better as it only covers the cost of the venue which then makes it harder to cover entertainment etc, and the higher the costs go the more it will price people out.

I friggin love this event and will always aim to attend no matter what happens, but we seem to be paying more and more money for venue.

Thanks mate, I know you have always appreciated all the hard work that goes into these things.

Perhaps I wasn't very clear with what I tried to explain. Yes summer venues like this cost a lot, and for the members that do want that type of experience it has to be paid for. Also as I said it really has been run on a shoestring budget, which effects the type of day we can provide, right from the quality of food, the amount of food, and then the variety and quality of entertainment through out the day.

The price increase will happen, but so will the quality of the day provided, also the venue will be something different and very unique. The price increase will not just only cover the increase in price for the venue, the price increase will also go towards the quality of everything throughout the day.

Some members may not understand the cost of the ticket and equate that to what they are getting in terms of an extraordinary venue and quality of food and entertainment specifically catered for them. That's fine, but a lot of members do, and they wan't something different from the norm, and don't mind paying for it. If people want inexpensive, then that's also fine, the club offers events catered for that too, for example JAE, where you can go camp in a field for three days. But I don't think all of this comes down to price, if it did JAE would have 120 attending like Wroxall.

I've seen a list of what other car clubs members pay per couple who want to attend an event that their club has arranged at Wroxall, ranging from the Triumph club, to Jaguar, to Lamborghini, so I know people are willing to pay for an event that provides something special. I ask some of you to go and look at what trips and events the GTR owners club provide, and how much they cost. Same again with the Honda NSX club, go look at what they do for events and trips, I really think you will have a massive shock to what value you get from club arranged events provided here :)

I feel it comes down to a lot of members wanting something different and special, the cost becomes less important when the whole experience is worth it. This is what will continue to keep the 'S Club Party' one of the most popular events on the club calendar.

It was only when talked to folk on Dragonball about previous Wroxall events that I found out that it was going to be more than just a night in a hotel and a chance to socialise. The fact that you're able to squeeze anything more out of that ticket price than just an overnight stay is beyond me!

Thanks Sam :) Yes it has been a real squeeze!

It's good to hear that the Dragonballers gave it a good review :) I look forward to seeing you there this year and to hear what you think of it

Sorry, I wasn't trying to take anything away from what you and wile do.

I meant that whilst costs do go up, which I understand, it appears that the cost of the venue goes up and we achieve less each time or we have to pay a lot more for the experience.

I just don't want the cost to go up too much and have to lose certain bits of the event for that sake.

This event is great, and is definitely something different and very nice, the room's are lovely, but to be honest, I only spend a few hours in there and I am sleeping, well comatose

I knew what you meant mate don't worry :)

And of course you're right! If Wroxall come back with a stupidly high figure for next year, we won't be going! Exciting alternative plans are already being thought of ;)

To be clear on this' date=' if someone wants this room I will then complete the booking and they pay me £100 for the £130 room. I lose £30 instead of the £65 deposit that I have put down, you save £30 [emoji106']

Still got this room available if anyone wants to go to this and save a little money
