Are you doing anything to strengthen the chassis? I'd have thought that much torque + aero + wide rear tyres would equal quite a bit of flex?

Yeah this will need to be addressed before the power is sorted,I think do luck make something but possibly something else also.any suggestions?

I believe they do make a strengthening kit, but it might be something to chat to Lee about. I don't really have a clue, mine has a roof :D

The Do-luck product is a floor pan brace that runs up from side to side across the transmission tunel just behind the back seats. I have one in my Aerotop. It's very substantial and certainly adds to stiffness.

Do-luck kit will do next to nothing imo, i would do a full cage connecting he top of the windscreen to the cage.

Keep thinking of doing a full cage in mine, since having kids i think i have lost my bottle, keep worrying about losing control at a 200mph thunder road run, got lots to live for.

I had a full hauser race cage (time attack spec) in my impreza mate, tbh I wanna keep the interior standardish on this as it was a pain to get in and out of due to the side bar

I do know what you mean about crashing at a naughty speed though,I have kids aswell.also as I get older (26 now ) I don't feel as indestructible as I once did!

I will probably get one of these but maybe need to so some extra strengthening aswell.

If you're aiming for huge HP then everything counts. Having said that, it's not like you'll be doing any drag or track runs with the roof off. But if you want to ensure stiffness, you'll have to mate the roof back together (perhaps with a custom cage) - but that would perhaps defeat the object of having an aero.

Some suggestions, how effective each is I'm not sure. There are a few members on here with some of these fitted who may be able to comment.
