I too love a good swear when I feel it is warranted and appropriate but I have never felt the need to have to do that on the forum.

I like the forum as it is and feel that if the use of swearing was opened up or the rules relaxed it would be to the detriment of the forum in general.

Anyway, this thread is a gentle reminder and we'd prefer it not to be made fun of.

It is tricky getting the balance right.

Most people on here don't do it anyway.

But we don't want it to be a free for all, language wise otherwise

this Garden of Eden that we all enjoy will start to look a bit tatty, even a bit unloved.

And that would be wrong.

I have a dilemma now.

You see Hogmaw's post isn't actually written

But it does contain harsh sweary words that are NWS .

I'd prefer to keep this thread in Chat.

What do I do?

Delete the post. It didn't really contribute anything to the debate and IMO, was only posted up to cause a stir.

Can we swear in NWS yet? I know someone got done for it previously.

I guess the 'C' word in the thread title may have done it!

I say old chap, you're talking utter rot. The post was intended to cause mirth and merriment and would indeed have done so had the squares and the suits not got their way.

Listen buddy, I may be a square, but never call me a suit.

Thought I would take the liberty of bumping this thread,

I for one have certainly noticed a big increase in bad language, and the single letter abbreviations of commonly used swearing terms.

One major selling point about this forum, is you can read multiple pages on a thread without the constant use of certain words, think it should stay that way imo.
