Lovely car...

Would look even better (to me anyhoo) if the sill / arch trim was the same body colour. I love the way the sill trim hooks down at the rear just in front of the rear wheels, and when painted to match the body it gives the car a subtle skirted look but flush, neater, less fussy if you catch my drift. I'll be doing it to mine in a while.

I'd restore it to OEM if it was me, I just love the stock look and I don't think it needs to be altered in any way. That's just my lowly opinion though :)

I think a change needs to be made though, I think if you're keeping the rear spats it definately needs some skirts, but if it were my car I'd lose the front wings and spats :)

Hope you like whatever decision you make :)

I think the poll might help you sway your decision.

I have added some pictures of my car with the OEM Spats & Skirts.

I think they curve out the bottom nicely, as you will see the Spats & front Bumper sit

lower than the side you currently have. With the OEM skirt it will level it out (if you know what I mean).

It has never ceased to amaze me how dated the spats and skirts make the cars look. Leave it as it is. I see some really bizarre kits that not only look horrendous, like something from a child's comic strip, but also cause body rust through either their ill conceived fasteners, or by rubbing the bottom of the door skins where the door gap has been compromised, and fretting on front and rear wings. I know the OE ones aren't bad in that respect, but they look horrible, compromise ground clearance and make getting them on 2 post ramps a liability. A MKIV with OE bumpers, no spats, skirts and other nonsensical appendages, and no rear "wing" still looks clean and modern, in a DB7, XKR way. The more *hit you add the more dated and pretentious they look. Of course, at the end of the day it's down to personal taste, I am merely citing what good taste demands ;)

Having a bit of a dilema what to do with the car bodywork so thought I'd ask you fella's what you think would be better option.

The car has Veilside rear spats (about the only Veilside part I like :D ), but no sideskirts. I'm in two minds whether to remove those (which will need the rear quarters repaired and painted), or to keep them and add OEM skirts (which will help cover some sill damage).

Either way paint and repair will be needed.

I'm swaying towards adding the OEM skirts as it'll fit a little better with the TRD cutouts in the front wing.

What would you do?

Pic with the new wheels on (cheers Dave and Pig :D )

Actually, I think I would take the wing off, take the rear spats off and leave it just as it is. Subtle, clean and modern looking.

What do the OEM Skirts look like? is there more than one type of OEM skirt? (you can tell i'm a newbie to the Supra scene). I thought i had Veilside skirts on mine to go woth the rear spats but now i'm not so sure?

You definately need Skirts though, whatever kind you decide, it finishes the look of the car off.

Wow, thanks for all the great feedback guys, it's given me a lot to think about!

It's helped make up my mind and i'm going with the original plan (and slightly unpopular one :D). The spats will be removed and it's staying completely stock.

Stefan- your car looks great! Not sure I could get rid of the shopping trolley handle on the back, I love the stock spoiler.

Next up - Ditch the TRD cutout wings for stock ones? ;) :innocent:

Good plan, kits can work but not with stock wheels.:)

Where did you get your side wings Homer? Or did a bodyshop literally make it from the original side wing?

Dude did them, they are stock wings but with the holes cut out and meshed (it's his old car). They are the same size and position of the cut outs on the TRD widebody cars.

I think the cut outs add a bit of something, they look OK in the photos SO LONG as the mesh infill is perfect, and perfectly aligned and fitted! Good move on staying stock, they are now in a minority as far as I can tell.

Thanks Chris :)

The mesh and cutout are done perfectly (and I've VERY fussy about things like this!). The paint on them is like new and the area behind the cutout has been painted so there's nothing unsightly behind them.

The only downside is there are no side indicators which I beleive are required for the MOT (and an obvious safety issue on the road).
