  2. Sorry i just read coolant pipe and didn't think of the hard pipes so yes obviously what i said won't work in a metal pipe.
  3. If your in a hurry i'd give Ibrar a call in case he misses your pm etc in here
  4. A bolt shoved in just looks like a bodge to me, if its a permanent thing then get a st/st or aluminium top hat made. Looks much more profesional. Something like this

    UK spec Supra value

I used to be with LWIB on the supra and had agreed value of £13k last year with all mods declared etc for just over £300 which was really good, since i've sold up they aren't so great on other cars as far as i was concerned and i've gone elsewhere.
  6. Talk to everyone else that's there, that's the whole point of the meetings ps: please think of another film to show Dean

Most parts are the same and j specs will also suffer the same the problem, a lot of parts you'll still be able to buy a copy of etc like Blue Print stuff or get refurbished such as turbos, gearboxes. Pigs advice i think is the best. I've heard these problems before with Admiral and other comps, they simply go by book value which wont be anything like its true value due to the cars cult following. Agreed value is the best way to insure one of these cars in my opinion and then its in Black & White on your cover details so you'd like to think if you've described the car accurately you shouldn't have a problem.

    UK spec Supra value

Well a cared for UK spec with mots, service history and receipts for replaced parts from day one does mean its worth more to some people, obviously a lot of folks on here seem to not care about all the years of a cars life before import or even after import, i know what i'd buy ! Cost more to run ? parts harder to find ? If you read the op's first post it says they have offered £2k for the car not £6k
  9. If your going to change the head gasket make sure the heads checked for being flat, if its warped over 0.1 mm its pretty much scrap

Worth way more than that if you broke it, how many miles had it done. You'd get £2-£3k for the gearbox and diff alone. Look on Paul Brown Cars for other UK specs advertised at over £10k, print them off and give to your ins company. I sold my UK auto this year for £10k PBC's website doesn't appear to show they're cars on it but if you search on http://www.pistonheads,com in the classifieds section it will bring up several of they're adverts and some other UK specs
  12. Get some tests done, a sniff test on the coolant would be the first thing to do as its easy and cheap I think your cars an NA so if the engine has major problems drop a replacement in as they appear to be very cheap
  13. You have to remove the interior trim panels that go round the window, the windows have bonded studs on them which go through the shell frame and secure the window in place with nuts which you need to undo. Then you need to cut through the window sealer that bonds the window to the shell, the glass and trim round the window come as one piece and were around £150 each a while ago
  14. I don't quite get how not knowing the history of a vehicle isn't an issue, personally i'd rather know if the car i'm buying has had regular oil changes etc. Seems to be a whole new concept in buying cars to me, pretty much cross your fingers and hope as a visual inspection more than likely won't show anything wrong but if you keep the car will it do 150,000 miles or more like it should do easily if its been looked after. I personally wouldn't touch a TT without service history but yes some will be great and have no issues and some won't. And yes i know having a full service history isn't a guarantee to your car lasting longer or simply running better but i prefer to hedge my bets
  15. I think all i'd do is match up the ports outline to the manifolds and leave it at that. I did that on my 4.6 V8 RR engine as the miss match was huge on both the inlet and exhaust.
  16. Standard o/e decals would have looked better imo
  17. Yes because A is the best and i think F the worst so your quotes will be graded accordingly

  19. Google insurance postcodes and you should get a few options for checking it
  20. It seems to get it on a classic policy you have to be 30 yrs old now, try LWIB but i think they might only cover you if your 25 yrs + but worth the call. You can also check your postcode online and see if your sleepy little village is actually good as far as ins goes, my postcode is very good but literally 100 yards up the road in the next postcode its crap !!!
  21. The company is called Broadway Brass and less than 3 miles from Ibrar. http://www.broadwaybrass.co.uk You need to speak to Ajmal on 0121 440 3173
  22. You have pm, i've found another place nearer to Ibrars and only £140 to strip the wheels I own a hair salon up here so get mine done foc already thanks for the offer though
