  1. Depends what you have to replace, Crank Pulley £282 from Whifbitz for a genuine one, water pump from Toyota £100 ish
  2. Have you opened the bonnet to see if you can pin point the noise ? Does the noise speed up when you raise the rpm ? To eliminate all the pulleys bar the Crank pulley you could drop the aux belt off which drives the a/c, powersteering pump, waterpump, alternator, then run the engine for a short period, if the noise stops its one of those pulleys, if it doesn't stop its something else. Check ps fluid level Also do the tippex test on the CP
  3. I'd rather not have to argue and know exactly where i stand, agreed value is the way to go in my opinion on one of these cars
  4. I shall refurbish the 3 spokes and keep them as they do look good when they are in top condition
  5. When your stationary or moving, is the noise coming from the engine bay or somewhere else
  6. Isn't a member having a big issue with Admiral offering £2k payout on a UK 6 speed. Nobody really knows how good their insurance is till the worst happens, cheap doesn't mean good
  7. First major purchase this morning as i found a set of the 5 spokes i wanted with as good as new Maxxis tyres on them
  8. From my first inspection its not too bad but that was on a drive with a torch crawling underneath, there's a bit of corrosion in both front foot wells with a couple of small ish holes in the drivers side, the worst is the boot floor as that's scrap. We'll know more next week when it goes on the ramp but i'm not overly concerned at the moment
  9. Here's a photo of mine, the paint isn't quite as good in the flesh but the panels are straight, a good mop and polish should see it looking a lot better after we've done the rest of the work. The bull bars gone and in the skip
  10. Do not sell it unless you get silly money for it, good condition classics are going up in value like you wont believe. Not sure what i need yet but thanks for the offer of help etc
  11. Cheers Chris Thanks mate, theres a fair bit of work to do but hopefully it'll finish up like the pic in post 6
  12. It's on the classic 3 spoke alloys but i'd like to fit a set of these 5 spokes in the photo, this is how i want it to look when it's finished
  13. Thanks guys, i'll get some pictures before the work starts and update as we go. Just trying to decide what shocks & springs to fit as i'd like to stiffen it up a touch but not to much and keep the stock ride height.
  14. Take the Aux belt off as well to eliminate the belt and all the pulleys it drives but don't run for too long as it drives the water pump
  15. Thought i'd start a new thread covering the restoration of my 19 year old classic Range Rover that i recently bought. Its a 1994 M reg 3.9 Vogue SE Soft dash It's in need of some tlc and will be on the ramp next week, first job is really to do a thorough inspection and see exactly what we have to do. Checking the chassis and floor pan first for corrosion then move onto the mechanics, engine, gearbox, transfer box, diffs, brakes, cooling system etc At the moment from my visual inspection when i bought it on the bad list are Boot floor - heavy corrosion - replace Drivers foot well - heavy corrosion - replace Passenger foot well - light corrosion - replace Bonnet - surface corrosion - strip & paint Lower tailgate - surface corrosion - strip & paint Power steering leak - replace hoses Fuel pipe leak - replace Abs faulty - possibly a sensor Drivers airbag faulty - replace CV joint - replace Quarter glass seals - replace Air suspension - remove and fit new shocks & springs Tyres - some have cracks in sidewalls replace all 5 N/S/R door window - replace motor Drivers door lock - ? On the good side Most of the body looks in very good condition but will need a good mopping From what i can see the chassis looks in good condition All door hinges are very good, no play All door bottom edges are perfect Sunroof works fine Hardly a mark on the interior, dash, seats & door cards A/C works Fan works All windows bar 1 work All door locks bar 1 work Top tailgate is fine and locks Motor sounds fine Gearbox seems to work fine
  16. Just wait and see what SFS put up for sale, simplez
  17. £12.50 each for petrol injectors at injector tune inc testing http://www.injectortune.co.uk
  18. All supras will need work doing, its an ongoing thing now as the newest you can buy is over 10 years old
  19. I'd send them to CW and get them flow tested and cleaned
  20. Viper do pretty much what SFS do http://www.viperperformance.co.uk
