    UK Brake Calipers

Search for a member named Parsons, he was doing them cheaper than Steve and anyone else
  2. You could get the spacers you have machined down, pretty easy to do on a normal toolroom lathe and take about 30 mins to a guy who knows what he's doing, if that !!
  3. A lot depends on your personal finances, a supra even non turbo isn't great on fuel and expect to get around 20 mpg on local driving. As for repairs it depends what you call expensive, for example i replaced all my suspension arms on my car and the parts bill alone was more than the asking price for the car your looking at. Get quotes from the specialist and online ins comps, it will vary massively dependent on your personal circumstances. age, points, postcode, etc etc Whatever you look at check it out thoroughly and ask lots of questions regarding parts that have been replaced as these cars are now getting old and quite a lot will need a fair bit doing in the very near future unless its already been done. Search on here for the buying guide and the present owners posts etc and you'll get a better idea about the car and the weak links on a mkiv, trust me they're good but they're not bullet proof as some will have you believe Good luck
  4. Might be worth a read http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?241139-Genuine-TOYOTA-UK-SPEC-CALIPERS-AND-DISCS-BRAND-NEW
  5. Never had a clonk or rattle with UK brakes in 15 years of owning UK spec Supras.
  6. Stopping power is ruled by how much grip your tyres have, for just rd use other than they look great and weigh less the big brake kits are simply overkill.
  7. No i agree and fair play for trying to be different, just saying the o/e air feeds work fine
  8. Regarding the cold air feeds they supplied my UK spec with no issues at 1.25 bar and 420 flywheel hp. I actually made my own airbox years ago but i couldn't beat the o/e box so it went in the bin and i just made my own hard pipes to fit round the o/e airbox, they didn't have beads on them and never blew off but i did use Mikalor hose clamps
  9. Not when your depreciation is £250 for 3yrs It was the same with my supra, one buyer came from France and paid the full asking price, he actually paid £5 over
  10. Well i sold my old 2001 reg Landcruiser in April and everyone i new laughed when i said its up for what i paid for it 3yrs previous. Guess what, i had 1 buyer drive down from N Wales with a bundle of cash, i let him kick me down by £250 seeing as he'd had long drive etc etc
  11. You only need 1 buyer to turn up that's not done their homework and falls in love with the car. trust me their out there. They will see a sleek 2 door sports car for just over £4k, wow a bargin
  12. No offence intended here but aren't you just replacing a perfectly good fully functioning airbox with another airbox. I'd be inclined to make the fmic pipework fit around the o/e air box and then you'd have the perfect set up for a TT Looking at your pictures it wouldn't take much to do and then you'd have 2 cold air feeds coming into the box
  13. Think of all that salt & grit attacking the underside of your car, let alone the idiots that can't drive on snow or ice, no thanks. Or the sight of the gritting wagon coming the other way and about to cover your pride and joy A new set of winter tyres will set you back over £400 in 17" Cheap run about is the best option or a 4x4 if you have the spare cash.
  14. Check the intercooler connections Also go round all the other coolant pipework seeing as the top hose was loose.
  15. Pretty much rules out the valve stem seals if no smoke on start up
  16. Scary someone left it like that and good news you spotted it. Shouldn't be any leaks down there, have you checked the ps reservoir, any bubbles in it when you turn the steering ?
  17. Luck doesn't come into it, that's roulette Would you pop £10k on red ? if not why on earth would you do it with a car. Patience, doing your homework and walking away from cars that have zero history and will more than likely cost you lots of money in the future if the present owner can't tell or show you what has or hasn't been done to a car.
  18. If Paul hasn't got one give Steve Manley a call at Inchcape Toyota Oxford, he's pretty much on the ball parts wise for either UK or J specs 01865 291333
  19. Invite the seller on here to discuss the car ?
  20. Quite a few Toyota dealers are awful, my two local ones are crap at best when it comes to the parts dept.
  21. Just about to say the same thing
  22. Good luck with it and if you do buy it bare in mind the day you come to sell it.
