Likewise, especially since TG was repeats. Using that long-range high-definition camera from the helicopter resulted in some fantastic shots. It was fascinating to see the wild dogs peeling off one by one to take up position -- like a commando mission, and as for those Great Whites.... how big were those things? The sea-lions in their jaws looked tiny! EDIT: Clips here http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/animals/planetearth/realmedia/ The great white is there, and the wild dogs, and the Amur leopard, and the swimming elephants, and the polar bears.... and that's just one episode.

Thank you! I'm bookmarking this thread. I've had this "discussion" (well, argument, really ) on several other forums, and people will not accept that it's not turbo timers which are illegal, but the act of leaving the car unattended with the engine running.

Someone (Bedlam?) has a Soarer which was fitted with a Superchip by a previous owner. IIRC it turned out to be nothing more than an expensive Fuel Cut Defender.

Yeah, I don't get it either, but I've seen some of there little postal jeeps and for some reason they're RHD too. ..and thanks for calling me boy..I don't feel so old now:D You have to imagine the check jacket and the southern States accent :serious: It's so the posties don't have to step out into the traffic. :trivia: Pre-war luxury cars often had the steering wheel on the "wrong" side so that the chauffeur could get out and quickly open the door for the passengers to step on to the kerb.

Right-hand drive? That's just un-American, boy! Bit of a stretch to the switches though , and how do they get away with all those sharp bits of metal and exposed bolts? and this from the country which makes it virtually impossible to import RHD cars from Japan ......

Soarers also use the unobtainable 9005Js. A lot of people use capped 9005s from PIAA. Still expensive, but cheaper than HIDs.

Lay the wheel face down on a flat surface, lay a straightedge across the rim, measure the width of the rim and divide it by 2. Measure from the straightedge on the back of the rim to the mounting face which fits against the hub. Subtract one measurement from the other. You are calculating the distance that the mounting face is offset from the centre-line of the wheel. You could take the same measurements with the tyre on the rim, although it might be a little less accurate.

There is a speed limiter (on cars originally sold in Japan) which prevents the car exceeding 180 kph, and there is a boost limiter which cuts the fuel in order to prevent what the manufacturer sees as excessive boost pressure -- two different things.

Haven't heard of anyone swapping a 1JZ into a Mk 3 in the UK. I think Arnout has done some http://www.supras.nl. I believe there was a GZ20 with a 1JZ-GTE on Soarer Central in OZ. The Aussies reckon that the W58 is a bit marginal for the 1JZ and tend to use the R154 for auto to manual changes on Soarers. Your best bet is Toymods, lots of old school Soarers in Australia, and they love all sorts of engine swaps.

Not many 20 Series Soarers in the UK. Try the toymods forum in Oz for info on the 1G-GTE. It's Mk3 Supra rather than Mk4, and the GA70 also used the 1G-GTE. P.S. Where in the South West are you? TIF have a meet near Newbury at the beginning of March. Lots of 30 Series Soarers, but we've never seen a GZ20.
